HP 2000: Recovery of 2000 HP that turned bad

Hello again.  Well, I finally got a chance to run the recovery dvd that I recently received from HP.  The kit comes with 4 dvd / cd, 3 for additional recovery and 1.  I am very disappointed and frustrated at this point.  I spent most of the day trying to get this to work, and the machine is now WORSE off than before.  The issue was that I had bought a Windows 8 64 bit recovery dvd/cd, but it could not activate my copy of windows it was 8 PRO and obviously I have std 8 64-bit.  The machine went very well, but of course later I have to do something for activation.  I contacted HP and went ahead and ordered the recovery kit giving them my serial number, model number etc.  The two times I ran the recovery following the directions stated, it seems well unfold, but then I get an error message the recovery attempt failed.  Select one of the following options... Save the newspaper, details, try again.  I chose retry the last time and came up with the same ending.  It has something to do with the extra cd?  When I ran the recovery with Windows 8 pro, it was a dvd/cd, and he went through the 1st time no problem, but do not activate my windows.  Any suggestions would be much appreciated.  Thank you.   Either way, I can't get past this error message.

There is a point in recovery when you are prompted to insert the additional disk. You do that and then click on continue (or next)?

Agree to save the log, so you can post it here.

Can you post the errorlog for the recovery attempt failed?

  • Calculations that turned bad

I can't for the life of figure me this!  I will satrt with, I'm quite new to this, but I cannot creat fields and change them.  However, every time that I try to do the simple math with "value is" window I run and things seem fine until I have set other fields of the form to calculate as well.  And then the previous fields are stripped.

I am eager in the upper part, "Subtotal" = ('Fare by night' x 'Tax')

So I want to 'Total' = ('subtotal' x 'number of nights')

So I want to on the bottom:

    "Subtotal" = (90.00 + 30 + 30 + 30 + 30 + 30 + 30 + 30)

    'Tax' = ('subtotal' x 'tax')

'Total' = ("[top] Total '+' [the bottom] subtotal +"Tax"+" Svc fairy")

I had change them the properties and calculated, but still they keep getting foires or not even close.  I know I can find dumb, but I need help.

    Thank you.

    Please help me!

The first thing you need to do is to ensure that the order of computation of field is correct. Exactly how do you this depends on which version of Acrobat you have. First of all go in form editing mode. In Acrobat 9, you must then select: forms > edit fields > set field calculation order

In Acrobat 10, select: other tasks > edit fields > set field calculation order

  • Selection of magic wand that turned bad in CS4 for Windows - how to fix?

I am currently working on a project of game modding than altered uses of the photos as icons.  Most of these photos have (usually white) background which I am replacing it with color gradients.  My usual method for the manufacture of the icon:

    1. Create my gradient background in a white square of size; Save this file.
    2. The Outbox folder, add a new transparent layer.
    3. Open the photo to be altered (file B) and my game-icon (file C) model in separate tabs.
    4. Select the unwanted parts of file B with the magic wand tool; Cut; repeat if necessary.
    5. Select the entire image is in file B; If so, resample a file match B and C (256 x 256 pixels, 96 DPI).
    6. Copy the picture and paste it into the transparent layer of the file has.
    7. Flatten image in the Outbox folder, and then select all and copy.
    8. Paste this new image (with the gradient background) in the C file transparent layer.
    9. Flatten the image into an icon of the full game, recording as a file D.dds with the "Alpha channel" and Alpha DXT3/Explicit options.  (You will need the Nvidia DDS plugin for this step.)

Usually, these steps give me decent looking results (see photos #1 and #2 for a before/after).  Sometimes, however, the wand chooses too and cannot limit the unwanted area more (see photos #3 and #4 for a before/after). Color range selections, channel operations, the adjustments made on the custom selections / channels. You need to combine several techniques and selections. For example, you can always try to create a luminance mask, save it as a custom channel and using levels or curves adjustments cut unwanted parts, and then load it as a choice on which you can then use the edges, refine and add / subtract / intersect other selections...

You will need to contact support in the country where you are (and therefore the country on your account) for questions (and the password) reset: Contact Apple for the Apple ID account security support

If your country is not on this page, then try this form to contact Support: https://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html

When they have been reset you can then update your email address of relief for possible future use: on your Apple ID - Apple Support email addresses

    Hello Kenneth Pincus,

You can create a new profile on the computer and if the desktop icons stay on their position. If this is not the case, the other profile is corrupt. To create a new user profile, you can see the article mentioned below for the procedure.

    Hello

In this case, you can use windows system restore to return the machine to a point in time before this prompt syskey occurred using the following method.

Use another PC to create a Windows 7 repair CD.  Download the ISO from the link below.

    Windows 7 64 bit

You must use an app like ImgBurn ( Note: you can deselect additional software during installation of ImgBurn options) to burn the ISO to a CD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.

Once created, type away at the esc key when you launch Notepad to open the Start Menu.

    Insert the CD to repair.

Select the Boot Manager option ( f9 ).  Use the arrow keys to select the CD/DVD drive and press ENTER - if you are prompted to "press any key to continue...". ", do.

Select 'Repair your computer' and follow Option 2 in the guide here to run the Windows system restore - choose a restore point at least 48 hours before the opening of session problem occurred.

    Kind regards

  • Unable to open encrypted drive up to that "turn off the csrutil.

I was using OSX 8.5 until a few days ago. One of my discs is encrypted. For some reason I couldn't open it for a long time. A day after a reboot, the system refused to open it (I just restart my Mac Book every now and then). I tried several combinations of the password, nothing helps. It was not so important, because the disk contained only the old data.

Two days ago, I have updated to OS x 11.5 and gave him a new trial, nothing had changed.

However, today, I needed to disable the security protection by a "turn off the csrutil. A nice side effect is that I can re - open the disk encrypted with my known password.

    Isn't it strange?

I have long run out of support, so I can hardly open a ticket for this. Maybe some else will do so?

My iMac has been slain on the wheel for hours after I entered my Apple ID in the installation program do I do?

Hold the power button until the screen goes black.

Wait at least 10 seconds, then press power once to turn back on.

If you still have problems, boot in Safe Mode boot Safe Mode.A removes the system caches that can help.

Upper left corner of your screen, click on the Apple  > Shut Down.

After your Mac stops, wait 10 seconds, then press the power button.

As soon as you hear the startup tone, hold down the SHIFT key. You must press the SHIFT key as soon as possible once you hear the startup tone, but not before.

Release the SHIFT key when you see the gray Apple logo and progress indicator.

Once you are in Mode without failure, return to the menu Apple . In the drop-down list, click: reboot

  • Y430: Not sure that turn off hard disks is no...

I have a Vista-based Y430. I am now on feeding management of Lenovo on Vista (thanks to this forum) but I'm not 100% sure what the selection of "turn hard drives off" does, well, obviously it turns off hard disks but which live the user when this happens? I noticed that when my computer is put to sleep (even if plugged in) for a longer period, it stopped but restarts when I open it up. It is since turning off hard drives or is it something else? It seems to happen only after having been asleep for over an hour. It drives me crazy because it closes everything I had opened. I'm the type of user who likes to open documents, browsers, and even games for long periods. I scanned for viruses and spyware, but I don't think that's the problem. So, I think it's the judgment of hard drives, but since I'm not sure that I thought I'd ask.

Moderator Note: Type added to the line object for clarity.

It is the complexity of the problems in P - and C-States of the processor, Vista driver model and drivers themselves. It cannot be cured by what it is. The only way for you is using Hibernate mode instead of view 'sleep' (I do).

Regarding the stop discs on a charge down zero - it is useful energy saving because order HDD consumption less power, but spinning upwards and dwn constantly does no good on the HARD drive itself, so this prefferably not not to use this function.
