HP 255 G3 laptop: laptop HP 255 G3
Hello!!! I have problems with a second hand pc, I bought at a yard sale...
think that the pc was a school of company issued pc... it was windows 7 Professional 32 bit on it:
When I brought home... it was extremely slow and full of junk (bloat) so I tried to clean it up and do a factory of resets but got an error that the feature has been disabled by the administration or organization... then I tried to use windows update and got the same functionality of error message disabled by administrator/organization... so I managed to remove the restrictions for windows update and installed upgrading windows 10... but there are always restrictions so I have complete access to some functions... There is no recovery partition and no sticker on the bottom of the pc with the product key
so I wonder is hp has a model specific installation media I can buy for my product?
HP 255 G3 laptop
Model #: J7E67UP
Serial No.: [personal information]
Hello
Thanks for posting in the HP Support forum.
I guess that this computer was shipped with Windows 8 origin and that is why there was no sticker (COA sticker) for the Windows license. With Windows 8, 8.1 and leave, the product key is provided in the BIOS/machine.
For security reasons when you get a used computer, it is always recommended that you set the computer to factory default OR reinstall the operating system. For example, the previous user perhaps set some rescrtions like in your case OR there could be some hidden virus/malware that will go unnoticed and it could affect your data and personal identity.
There are 2 options that I can't see
Option 1) you can contact HP support to see if they can offer you original recovery media for this computer (aka recovery DVD or USB).
Here's how you can contact them:
If there is no recovery to HP support, you can try to contact
http://www.best2serve.com/page/rcd_landing OR http://www.computersurgeons.com/
Once you get the recovery media, here are instructions how to recover:
> http://support.hp.com/bg-en/document/c01867418#AbT4
Option 2)
Check if Windows is activated:
If this feature is enabled, then this could be a sign that Windows is indeed legal and the key that this computer initially provided with is legal.
Windows 10 introduces new ways of activation such as DRM. More information > http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04640037
If Windows is not activated, you have to go with Option 1
Then, just in case the digital entitlement is not the case, you can check the product key using this 3rd party tool > http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/7745-product-key-view-windows-10-a.html
> http://www.tenforums.com/software-apps/2577-showkey.html
Write down the key.
Download the ISO 10 original web page of Microsoft Windows
> https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10ISO
Burn the ISO to a blank DVD and use it to install Windows 10 - gentle clean new facility
> http://www.wikihow.com/Burn-ISO-Files-to-DVD
Finally, after a successful installation, Windows 10 should operate fine. If requested a product key, you can try with the one you wrote down previously.
Let me know if this worked for you

HP 255 G3 laptop: how to insert the cd in my laptop HP 255
I can't find how to open the disk drive to insert the cd or dvd to play
From the Manual:
Can you see this button as indicated in point 3? Of the record, I also see that some versions of the G3 255 budget comes with only a "weight saver" where the DVD player is in the picture. So if you don't no eject button, your laptop does not have a DVD/CD player player.

HP 255 G4 Notebook PC: How to upgrade RAM from 4 GB to 8 GB on laptop HP 255 G4
I would like to know how to upgrade my RAM 8 GB on my laptop HP 255 G4.
REPAIR:
See page 44 for "how-to".
Add one of them:
4 GB (PC3L, 12800, 1600 MHz) 691740-005
That will take you from 4 to 8 GB. Technically, this procedure will be to endanger the guarantee, but it is not terribly hard to do. Remove the bottom cover and the locations of memory are there. If you choose to move forward and to do so, be careful and closely follow the manual because there are a lot of screws.

Re: HP 255 micro disorders.
Sorry! I typed "Windows XP" in the original title, my bad!
NEED HELP IMMEDIATELY!
When I click on the sound icon in the lower right of the screen and select "Mix" THERE IS NO MIC CONTROL!
I went into the control panel search, typed "microphone" in the box "Search" at the top right of the screen and... NOITHING!
THE MICROPHONE IS ORIGINALLY A VILLAIN WITHOUT FOUNDATION AS THE NOISE WHICH IS QUITE NOISY.
I CAN'T RECORD A VOICEOVER (MY BREAD & BUTTER) WITH THIS INTERFERENCE! The internal microphone SHOULD BE muted / DISABLED OR DELETED!
How can I do this? I have deadlines to meet. It is a question of vital importance!
E-mail your response would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
VOArtist
Thanks for your attempt to solve my problem.
After nealy 3 hours to dig my laptop to get answers, I literally stumbled upon the answer to my question.
I downloaded all available sound updates and inside the last of them was control of the microphone.
A little tweaking and everything was back to an assembled recording device.

HP laptop G3 255: nine 255 G3 laptop battery not charging...
I'll put a G3 255 for a friend and I noticed that the battery won't charge. Indeed, the battery, unlike all the portable precedents that I put in place, had a load zero on the box. From memory, with all previous laptops, new batteries held at least some charges.
Icon in the tray of food says "0% available (plugged in, load)" while the balance of the battery in the utility HP Support Assistant says "the battery works fine but has not been charged recently.
Just to be clear, if I unplug the machine turns off instantly and if I try to turn it on without the power cord plugged in, absolutely nothing happens. Certainly feels as if the battery has no charge be and takes no fees either.
Of course that one day, the machine is under warranty, but I just wanted to get opinions on the question of whether the battery or laptop will be the problem. Only, I discovered the flaw after hours to transfer all the stuff from his old address so prefer to avoid it even once! I hope that HP sends out (or swap) a new battery.
Anyone has similar experiences with batteries not charging or maintain any load and with HP response?
Your description describes one main battery failed.
The main battery and the mains adapter are covered under warranty for any cost of replacement devices guarantee.
I ask that your question is raised.

Hello
I want to install Windows 7 64 bit on an HP 255 G2
but I think that it is the AMD ACHI drivers installtion to ask for the drivers.
on the download page on HP Support, there is no, only the chipset / graphics driver.
I downloaded the graphics driver found the ACHI sp64331\Packages\Drivers\SBDrv\hseries folder,
copy on a USB key, but with luck, windows does not find the drivers.
Try it with all the files, but nothing.
Any ideas?

Hello
Thank you for your quick response.
The problem is the USB 3 port, I connect the Flash of USB Intsalltion Windows 7 on USB 3 port and installation has been requested for drivers USB 3.
Changed the port and everything works well.
Found the solution here:
3 USB is on the left next to the HDMI port, so the case is SETTLED.

HP 255 G1 laptop: problem with McAfee antivirus download
Whenever I try to install McAfee this error message keeps popping up in the middle of the installation
I can not quite the exact message.
The problem is perhaps due to another program of security currently running on the system?
If this is the case, disable / remove the program of security in conflict.
However, the apparent difficulty is to use the tools and the support of McAfee to solve the problem.
Found this:
