  If this is the model of non-retine of 2012, then you can install 16GBs of RAM, but not by Apple. Then buy the 4 GB model then visit OWC to buy two 8 GB modules to replace the two accompanying him.

  A 8 GB module is listed in the manual, and it's a 3rd generation of processor i5 I suspect 2 x 8 = 16 concerts would work, but strictly following the manual your only option is to add a 4 GB for a total of 8. Most users really not more 8 GB and adding a second identical module will allow two-channel operation, so you should see a noticeable jump in the overall performance.

  Dell is not offering Win7 drivers for this model. I suggest you go here and read some of the links on the upgrade to Windows 7. Run the Win 7 Upgrade Advisor first to see what it says on your system.

  Without knowing what equipment you have (for example, video card, sound card, network adapter, etc.), it is impossible for anyone to tell you exactly what drivers you need. In some cases, but not all cases, Vista 64-bit drivers can work. The Vista 64 drivers are here. (Confirms that he says again Vista 64-bit upstairs when you load the page!)
