HP 6480 - no devices available in Windows 7 (64 bit) scanner

Hello

I recently bought a new hard drive and performed a clean installation of Windows 7 64-bit. Windows 7 automatically installed a printer driver (which seemed to work correctly), but has not installed the scanner driver (or at least did not have the device to use it). The HP6480 is on a network and had been to work properly with an installation of Windows Vista on the same PC I'm working currently with.

Then I tried to download and installation of the Scanner Driver and HP basic print (2010-01-15, worm: 13.0.0, 115.77 M) but still no scanner available.

I then discovered that I could access the printer via a web browser and access the settings of the device, status, logs, etc.. I also found something called Webscan. This allows me to access the scanner and scan 1 page at a time... limited, but it works.

My next step is to download the HP full feature software and driver (01/10/15, worm: 13.0.0, 246.43 M) but I REALLY don't want to use it. I hated the software on my Vista installation (it was slow to load at startup, it always put the printer offline as a default and the scanning would not work unless the printer is on BEFORE the PC) so I'd avoid it if possible.

The nuggets of wisdom out there for me? In any case, to get the scanner appears as a blown device in Win 7 without the complete HP software? The HP software actually work?

If it's important, the device is officially called

Range of all-in-one printers, HP Officejet J6480

Thank you

James

The full features software will give you your full scanning ability. But if you're not all software, you can download the full software features and when you get to the page that asks you to check the box that says "I have reviewed and accept the installation of the software", click on selected software must be installed and you can uncheck everything except the main driver, software functions, OCR software by IRIS imaging device and is responsible for centre or a solution document. In this way, not all software is installed, just the necessary software. Good luck.

i ' v just upgraded to windows7 windows vista Basic. When I click on a file and scroll down to the option "send to", "bluetooth device" option is missing. or find a way to add bluetooth devices to my cmputer... Infact, I can't find any option associated with bluetooth! My cmputer has a built-in bluetooth adapter. Wat do I do? Help!

  • Satellite A500 - only 2.96 GB RAM available on Windows 7 32 bit

    Hello
I use Windows 7 on a Satellite A500, and when I go into the properties of computers, she says only 2.96 GB of RAM is available.

I use the 32-bit version of windows 7, but I thought the RAM limit in 32-bit 4 GB... ?

Why all my RAM is not available?

    Thank you.

    Hello

The maximum capacity of RAM can be used on * all * 32 bit OS is 3.2 GB of RAM. It of not possible to use all 4GB RAM you have.

I guess everything's ok. Don t forget that memory will also be shared with the video RAM. So, I think that your laptop uses the missing ability to RAM for the graphics card.

  • No Audio output device is installed (Windows 10 64 bit, HP Pavilion 500 series)

    Model number: 500-007 a

    Operating system: 10 64-bit Windows

Description of the problem: no sound.

    Hello

I came from TenForums forum, hoping to find a solution to the problem of noise from my office.

Status of the solution of the problem is at: http://www.tenforums.com/drivers-hardware/45369-no-audio-output-device-installed.html

When I move my cursor on the audio icon on the corner at the bottom right of the screen, the message of the index says "no Audio output device is installed". By clicking on the audio icon so that windows are trying to solve the problem will not solve the problem.

In Device Manager, I have 2 "High definition audio controller" that display a yellow "!" mark on them. Both controllers are on the devices tab of system.

As you can see in the picture above, there is no tab "audio, video controller and game."

How can I get my sound back?

    Thank you.

    You are the very welcome.

What worries me is that your device manager does not have the IDT HD audio listed under sound video and game controllers Device Manager.

Normally, when you install W10, the IDT HD audio device is in the list, and it just doesn't work.

You can try reinstalling W10 and see what happens.

  • latest version of the device driver for windows 7 64-bit USB mass storage

My laptop Toshiba of Windows 7 Pro 64-bit a drivers of USB storage with a date of 2006. I get an error "unrecognized USB device" or something to that effect.
MS has failed to update these drivers since 2006? Updates Windows suggests that the installed drivers are up-to-date.
    Really?

    Hello

Have you tried to actually download all drivers updated?
Your system drivers are written by the manufacturer of your PC and not by Microsoft. What is the full brand and model of the PC you are using?
You'll want to go to the site of the manufacturer of your computer, find your specific model and download the drivers there.
If you have problems with drivers for a particular product, such as a printer or an external hard drive, you will want to go to the manufacturer website only and download the drivers directly from there.
  • Pavilion Elite HPE-180 t, windows 7 64 bit started to stop the sleep mode.

Pavilion Elite HPE-180 t, windows 7 64 bit began to stop in the past few weeks.  It seems to happen from the sleep mode.  I leave the computer for more than 20 minutes, and when I come back, it is turned off.  When I start again, I have an error message and be able to start in safe mode.  I start in normal mode and I get an error "windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown" without solution.  I also see an action center say error - consider sending additional information about a problem with the ATI display driver (graphics card is ATI Radeon HD5450 1 GB).  When I click for the solution, says that this solution could not be downloaded.  I've updated my drivers.  I haven't added a new hardware or software.

    Thanks HardBeatZ (HP).

I did as you suggested and I had to uninstall several times because the device picked up previous ATI vs the generic drivers.  In any case it still stop with the blue screen of death when waking from sleep mode.   Then I went back and installed the latest graphics driver from the HP site for my system. I still had a few stops.

Then I went through all my devices and checked for latest drivers.  All said that the best version is already installed.  Then I noticed that my HP bt500 bluetooth USB 2.0 adapter had only a driver available for windows 7 32 bit (I have installed 64-bit).  I used a keyboard and bluetooth mouse.   So I unplugged the adapter and have resorted to the USB keyboard and mouse and closures of blue screen stopped.  It seems that the network card was originally wake up from its sleep.  I also disabled the reactivation of LAN in the properties of the network adapter device.

  • LaserJet P1102w: Laserjet P1102w cannot activate the installation with Windows Vista 32 bit PC computer wireless

Hello forum HP, I can use the Laserjet P1102w with USB connection on 3 different devices including a portable Apple and PC Windows Vista and Windows 7 laptop computer, but can not perform a wireless installation with the broadband internet connected wireless PC running Windows Vista 32 bit. The main message is that the computer does not find the printer even when using the USB connection. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi @Kaiser3107,

Welcome to the HP Support forum.

I understand that you have a HP LaserJet Pro P1102w printer that connects three thin devices via the USB port, but you can not perform a wireless installation on a fourth device, equipped of Windows Vista 32-bit, because the PC does not detect the printer via the USB port. I would like to help with that.

Here is a support document which includes 'USB device is not detected by Windows' which can help the issue of detection - Troubleshooting (Windows Vista) USB connections.

Please let me know if that solves the problem, or if you need assistance.

In fact, if it helps you to find a solution, please click on the 'accept as Solution' and the 'thumbs up' buttons down below in this message.

  • Acer Aspire E - 15 (E5-571-332ko) Wifi not working - Windows 7 64 BIT

Hi there we have a problem on the machine where we have down to Windows 7 64 BIT and we picked up the drivers from the Acer Web site.

Unfortunately the WIFI does not work despite trying all three options in the Support Site for Windows 7 64 BIT.

The laptop originally with Windows 8.1 which we didn't like. LAN works well.

We made - put a new SSD drive in (of course to lift the keyboard because what was not so difficult and three ribbons inside that were given.

    Can someone advise please?

I understood the problem and got it work. I was struggling to find the right driver, is necessary to find another for a same laptop from HP! None of Acer were those on the Web site as they are all for Windows 8.1

I went to the device under System (Windows 7 64 Bit Ultimate) Manager...

You must go to control panel > Device Manager then highlight the network cards. The wireless is here so click on it, go to properties and then click the Details tab scroll down to HardwareIDs and make a note of the four characters that follow FRI for the vendor, and the four after DEV for device.

Go to http://www.pcidatabase.com and enter these characters into the two boxes that apply and take the path to the correct driver. When you find the list of drivers to the seller, they aren't ordering as well use facility search to your browser to track the details of the device. With luck, you'll have an executable file, but some will be a zipped folder.

    Found this info from http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/43377-43-wifi-working-acer-aspire-windows

So the point is to track down the correct driver by searching for the device ID (first four characters) and stalking the four characters (Vendor ID) when you browse through the list.

Hope this helps some of you.

  • DirectX 12 for windows 7 64 bit

I just want to ask directx is available for windows 7 64 bit?

If this isn't the case, then it will be never come to windows 7?

No, DX12 is available on Win10, and only recent model graphics cards can

    use DX12 game effects.

Although DX12 have other benefits. A principal is that it uses the processor more efficiently when

graphics than previous versions of DirectX.

-DX12 still in it's infancy however. There is no fully released DX12 games still.

I think it will be a couple of years before DX12 truly becomes an important factor in the games.

-MS is far from focused on patients to give up Win7/8/8.1 to never allow DX12 on these operating systems.

Get as many people as possible on Win10 would be the main reason to make 'free' for Win7/8/8.1

users within the first year of its release.

-There are material limitations with Win10 (as it was with earlier versions of Windows), but many people

are to be seduced, by offering 'free' to try Win10 on computers, laptops, in particular,.

are not really optimal for Win10.  Especially with regard to the graphics hardware.

    Any help please?
    Thank you

This model is quite old and has been supported for Win7. I can just say... no luck. A lot of older machines may well work with newer operating systems, but they are not officially supported.

What should do? Try to check if the drivers, tools and utilities for a newer machine with similar hardware can be used on your laptop Satellite A.

I had the similar problem in the past with Vista and no supported Win7.

  • USB not recognized - even when there is no device at all (Windows 7, Pavilion dv7)

For a few days now, I get the message

"USB device not recognized: one of the USB devices attached to this computer is not working properly." The device has not been recognised "."

He keeps popping up in my right corner below, every 5 seconds if I don't click it. When I click on the message, I get a list of devices (ports) are available. There is an "unknown device". Maybe it has something to do with the (biometric) finger scan? This has not worked very well lately...

Even when there is no single USB device installed (normally, I have a mouse and a Targus laptop cooling mat installed as USB devices), it keeps popping up. I tried to remove the USB port from the list (or uninstall) in the remote control, but it seems that it keeps happening.

I got it all of a sudden, I have nothing specific to has not logged any strange devices (except for a spotlight on exit external screen, but this has nothing to do with USB). I also hear the sound for the connection / disconnection USB devics randomly when I'm on my laptop.

    Someone has an idea?
