  Normally, helpsvc.exe shouldn't use all CPU resources, if you use actually help and support and not much even in this case.  It is possible, however, that you have a malware application using the same name.

  The correct helpsvc.exe must be placed in C:\Windows\PCHealth\HelpCtr\Binaries.  The current version should be 5.1.2600.5997 and 727 KB in size.  If your helpsvc.exe is located in another directory or a different size, it is probably malware.  What is the real message of your Norton product?

  If your laptop computer is in idle mode, it isn't normal that the fan still works. Normally it should start and stop as on other models.
  But if you run some background applications such as Internet browser, Antivirus, etc., it may be normal because the CPU causes a lot of heat and it must be cooled to protect it from damage.

  Anyway, you can try to change the cooling method in Windows power management. You can choose between a maximum Performance and battery optimized. If you want to reduce, change the value of the latter.

  Hi Robert, I've experienced a similar problem, but vice versa, AFP hangs for a long time while SMB is fairly elastic.  Same configuration, last El Cap with Server 5.  Very strange.

  My problem is with SMB I don't then open, and then save the files to the server, I get the message that I don't have permission (even if I use the same password on the server, and the volume and the files have the same administrator permissions).  If I go to the AFP, it works fine.  But this brings us to another problem where my volumes will not be displayed on my client computer with AFP only enabled, the only way to see these volumes is by clicking 'Connect to server' in the menu go to.

Therefore the CPU all the time despite the silent diagnostic lights dells telling me the opposite.
