Ghostery addon causes 100% CPU load on a carrot for a few seconds for each hyperlink that you clicked.

For many months now and with several versions of Firefox and firefox profiles, turning the Ghostery add-on causes each hyperlink clicked to have 2 second break. In the Task Manager, I see 25% cpu usage, which equals 100% of CPU on my Quad Core cpu load.

If I disable Ghostery and restart Firefox, all problems disappear. So I have either the choice between a slow browser, or privacy-enabled navigation. Both are unacceptable.

I can't find anyone with this problem; is it me?

I did not use of Ghostery but I guess it could be the preload page and inspect and possibly break URLS to protect you before posting. Maybe if you set the settings so that it does less, allows you to balance the objectives of performance and privacy?

I noticed this on their support site today: https://getsatisfaction.com/ghostery/topics/your_script_becomes_unresponsive_raising_hell_with_firefox

  • svhost.exe causing 100 cpu

My computer is running at a snail pace because the svchost.exe uses 100% cpu ALL the time.  It's almost impossible to open and close programs.  I'm only able to use my computer if I stop the process through the Task Manager.  I would like to find a fix for this if possibel so I didn't complete the process each time I want to use the computer. O running all tests antivirus and registery scans I can think.  I thought it must be some kind of virus, but I can't find anything.  Help, please!

You can determine exactly what causes most of the problems by following the steps below:

Method 1: Put the computer in safe mode and see if the problem persists:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

    Method 2: Clean boot

If the problem is not repeated in safe mode, there is probably a startup item or service is causing the problem. Follow the steps on the following link to locate the item or service responsible for the error:

  • process of LSD causing 100% cpu and beachballing

I hope someone can help me with this.  My computer has recently started using 100% cpu on a process called "lsd".  It totally freezes my computer and I have to hard start it again by pressing the power button.  I can force him to do it is I select a video and then choose 'Open with' as it is pulling up the following windows, it will be beachball and go to 100% cpu due to this process.

The same problem on my second computer (since it is a dual core I get 50% CPU) also with Toshiba stack.

If use an external RS232 Bluetooth adapter everythings works fine at 4% of CPU load. I have however to connect a USB Bluetooth, same problem 96% CPU adapter.

  • Loading the default limits for each execution

    Hello

    My situation is like this:

I spend my sequence using the sequential model. Usually, the sequence is executed, 'in the loop', which means that when once the sequential model is launched, we can test unit after unit until we want to put an end for some reason any. The sequence is load dynamically by the sequential model and download after executing the step to discharge option.

In the sequence, we use limits. Default TS limits similar to below.

All our limitations change during execution depending on what unit we test and on what stage is the unit.

    Problem:

I thought that if the sequence is loaded dynamically, it is unloaded when executing the next time that the next unit will be tested the default values of the container limits will be charged (in response to being dynamically loaded and unloaded at the step which called the main sequence is executed). Unfortunately, it seems that when we realize continous test the test limits have not returned to the default value, as expected, but they are a superposition of the limits assigned by previous executions. Of course

    Issues related to the:

1 are my expectations about the behavior of TS are correct?

    2. how to impose default deadline to be 'reset', the default value for each run of the sequence, not only the first execution of sequential model?

MimiKLM wrote: I am worry the speed of loading, you talked about associated to your solution, but potential problems with memory. Let say, I called the main sequence of 1000 times without breaking execution. So instead of having one copy of the sequence called with wiped/reset all variables and properties I have 1000 copies in the memory. I would call it a waste to have 1000 copies only because I need to have the properties and variables deleted.

The copy exists only during the execution of the sequence. Once the execution of the sequence is complete, the copy will be destroyed/released. At least as long your code modules do not hold their own reference to it somewhere (which generally do not do).

If you call from the main sequence 1000 times in a loop, you must still do not have a runtime copy into memory at once. The difference is a new copy is created (and destroyed once that the sequence is made running) each time, rather than create a copy only once and reuse. There is a performance hit in this call of your sequence which is somewhat proportional to the size of your sequence, but unless your sequence is really huge, or test you execution is extremely fast, you probably won't see the difference.

  • wifitask.exe causing 100% CPU use

I use Windows 10 and realized that my computer is very slow. I tried to use flash for a meeting and it was so slow it wouldn't load. I checked Task Manager and noticed that my CPU is at 100% usage. I ended up most processes that were not required to run windows nothing helped, but when I closed wifitask.exe, the CPU would go from 30 to 80%. However, after a short time, wifitask.exe causes somehow himself to run and CPU usage was 100%. What exactly does wifitask.exe do? I can remove it or do I have to reinstall something? I also noticed that svchost.exe and lsass.exe use about 25% CPU each but what I've seen, that's normal? wifitask.exe shows that it only uses about 15%, but it's the only thing that removes the CPU usage when I finish it.

Any help/suggestions would be appreciated. I have worked on this all night and to meet soon. Thanks in advance.

Defender (MSE) is by far the cause.  It is using 45 + % CPU and is also the largest process of writing the disk.  Because it is part of the OS, you can not uninstall & re-install so your options are limited.  You can install an app different malware that automatically turn off MSE

There is evidence (on earlier systems) that restricting directories Defender scans can reduce this effect, but I can't find any reference to win 10.

If you decide to change applications malware ESET (eset smart security) and AVG seems to work without any problem in 10122

  • Svchost.exe causing 100% cpu usage during the update of windows, even when disconnected.

I recently had to re - install windows xp on a new hard drive for replacement. My version of xp home edition, SP2 OEM installation disc. (This is ith group included IE6)

Once installed and running, could access windows update.

Read all the threads associated etc. and installed SP3, disc after downloading microsoft on another pc. Installed after three trys, first two caused various mistakes, but third attempt seems OK!

I've also updated the IE6 to IE8, as some sites obviously did not work properly with the older browser.

Now go do the automatic updates, or log for manual updates... BUT!

During the process, my cpu fan comes on fast and permanently! The CPU usage is showing that 100%, pc slows to crawl, the mouse becomes slow etc.

This has never happened before on this machine before you reinstall clean, he had already automatically updated to SP3 and went very well, it was some time ago, before the failure of hard drive, and it has never had this problem!

Only since having to do a cleaning manual update and re - install.

The culprit seems to be svchost.exe, once it is used by the update, running the cpu at 100% and continues to do so EVEN after stopping the service, until I manually stop with the Task Manager!

The svchost.exe instance showing a high is use: SYSTEM.

According to the files of help here, it is a known issue and a fix KB927891 was issued for SP2, but this should NOT be necessary for SP3, and in fact difficulty used to perform anyway under SP3!

Ideas for a guy to fix?

I appreciate the support for XP runs out quickly, and after this update of windows will be redundant, but in the meantime it is always useful!

Also if I turn off the automatic updates, how can I stop this annoying popup warning bubble?... I can't live without updating, but this bubble nag drives you nuts! :)

OK just a update, now running cool and 100% auto update and manual update... How? I hear you ask...

Well I had a beer and a reflection and came to the conclusion, it must be 'order' in which I updated the clean installation of XP.

Origin, I loaded the old OEM disc new hard disk, loaded the drivers etc, then stop at windows update for updated files.

Who told me my old incompatible browser and suggested an upgrade.

I downloaded and installed IE8... still no joy, reading the forums comments I downloaded and installed SP3... which SEEMED to work, BUT then all the hassle of cpu to 100% with the automatic update and updated manual on the windows don't update site!

So I just gritted my teeth, formatted the drive, another OEM of XP Home Edition SP2 installation loaded the drivers, installed a copy saved to SP3 and after restarting, THEN installed a saved copy of IE8 and THEN trotted off the coast to the windows update site... low and behold, it the connection without problem, did a search, and required updates appeared on the screen without delay all 123 of them...! :)

Did the updates, restarted and everything was fine, updates automatic in market and left the machine, after about 30 minutes appears the yellow shield, and it downloads a couple more update files without problem.

All this time I followed the via the Task Manager CPU usage and the strange spike waited 100% apartment, it was on average from 5 to 20%!...so a great improvement has this effect, by simply changing the order of the updates installed from the original! SP3 IE before IE8.

May not work for all have to do a clean install because of the HD failed, but its worked for me, and I am once more a "happy bunny!

    Dave was soon.

  • Recently FireFox often caused 100% CPU usage and locks until it finishes the process (the different). Clear the cookies/cache did not help. Any ideas?

    Windows 2000 SP4, 1 g RAM, Firefox version 9.0.1
We keep IE6 and Firefox open simultaneously to 2 different email accounts. Firefox has always been much faster even with 3 or 4 tabs open, but for the past few weeks trying to update a screen suddenly CPU goes to 100% usage and of course nothing will move until the process is complete. Close one or more tabs does not help. If I close Firefox completely using the task processor Manager goes back down to zero. After restarting Firefox CPU use may or may not go back to the top as he tries to continue the previous task which has been lock him up.
He did this with Firefox 3.6, but still it did not happen immediately after the 9.0.1 update either.

    Hi vbolton,

Have you looked at the Knowledge Base article Firefox using too much memory (RAM) - how to fix the or Firefox using too many resources CPU - how to fix? There is a lot of information in there.

    Hope this helps!

  • Bluetooth process causes 100% CPU

    Hello

After the installation of the battery of Toshiba BT my CPU usage is 100%.
It seams like the process TosOBEX is the largest consumer of it.

    How can I solve this?

Make sure you are using the most recent Bluetooth stack and that no other Bluetooth software is installed.

  • BT stack file TosBTMng.Exe generates 100% of CPU load

I am also facing the problem that the Toshiba Bluetooth Manager (TosBtMng.exe) very often starts a loop and causes a 100% CPU load.

This has happened with older versions of the Toshiba Bluetooth stack and the current version (5.1.0.12).

The affected system is a Tecra S1, BT-Modul and Windows XP SP2.

BT battery installation went well and the laptop starts succesfull while BT is enabled. I also checked for hidden COM-Ports and other tips in this forum, without success.

Blocking seems to occur at different times. Sometimes just after are restarted, by clicking on the tray icon of BT with the right button of the mouse. Then the context menu is shown all too the white box, no entries. He can also try to connect to a device already associated. If I kill the process with the Task Manager, I can restart and he continues to work for a while.

As found in another thread here, I enabled the registration of the API of the Bluetooth Manager and found the following when connecting with the Nokia PC Suite for my mobile phone:

    Call the 00042519 21:55:05 [7208] (TosBtAPI / PCCSTBTP) BtCreateCOMM()-> BtCreateCOMM2()

A new COM port is created successfully (COM23) and a few seconds later the CPU of TosBtMng load goes up to 100%, but no API calls are made. And if you wait long enough the phone are connected and data can be transferred. However, very slowly.

Probably because of the high CPU load a next port COM (COM24) will be created some time later and this process is then repeated once again:

  • RT FIFO results in 100% of cpu load?

    Hello

I am trying to replace some RT-FIFO queues on a target of cRIO9074 (via LV2011), which should be fairly easy because the API is very similar for both:

This example VI works for sure: the lower loop puts an I32 in the FIFO every 100ms, the upper loop must wait before trying to read a new element of the "timeout" (the value 50ms) FIFO. For this example the upper loop should run (roughly) 2 - 3 times for each iteration of the lower loop because of 50ms timeout.

The problem I have is: it shows 100% cpu load and I don't understand why he says:

Where this example VI does not burn 100% cpu load? The RTFIFORead question just the current state of the FIFO?

Have you checked whether a time-out to > 100ms also creates 100% CPU load?

Please note that create the FIFO provides the configuration of reading and writing for the vote against blocking. See Help for more information.

It is somehow overloading CPU to 100% and eats RAM. If I kill the process that's somehow affects the sound and the windows theme, it makes them bounce like classic Windows. I really want to re install Windows, I am currently using Windows XP. While I play WoW, and I get massive lag. I check the Task Manager and I see that SVCHOST is the higher usage of memory and cpu. It goes like 600 000 K + and if I do not cancel the process computer slows down as turtle.

Any ideas how to solve this problem? Please be specific, I can't find good resource for this cataclysmic problem :/

    Thank you!

Svchost.exe is an application used by various applications. Usually, the problem isn't with svchost.exe but with the application that is running the service that is using svchost.exe. At any time, you can have a number any process ongoing svchost.exe to run and you have to identify who it is that is causing the problem. The process PID number is no help as it changes from one computer to another and each time that you start the computer. The constants are the command line and there are about 10 commonly used. You can't see them using the Task Manager. You need Process Explorer (freeware from Microsoft).

You will see what copy of svchost.exe is more active, and if you right click on the process, you will see a list of services that use this particular process. Svchost.exe - k netsvc is an example of a command line. Uses a number of services and often causing the problems of this group is wuaserv, which relates to Windows Update. Once you have identified the service that you have to identify the application using the service. In the example I gave, it's pretty obvious, but others are not so easy to determine.

  • Stop the fan from the CPU in a few seconds (T440)

CPU fan stop my T440 after a few seconds,

When I turned computer on I heard his fan and air jet, but after a few seconds the fan seem to be collapsed, is this normal?

    Hello

In cooling mode active, while the CPU temperature is low (usually about 55 degrees), the fan is beeng rotation at low speed, about 2000 RPM. Good quality fan is very silent on this mode.

In any case, you could check if the fan is spinning by the hardware test tool, HWiNFO is an example.

Of course, once the laptop is on, the fan starts to work at the POST stage too.
