HP Compaq 6710 b: compatibility 64 bit 6710 b

I want to upgrade Windows XP to Windows 8.1, but am not sure if the machine can support the 64-bit version. How can I determine how to proceed? Vince

Hello:

T7250 processor is capable of running a 64-bit operating system.

Here is the link for the specifications of Intel for this processor...

http://Ark.Intel.com/products/31728/Intel-Core2-Duo-processor-T7250-2m-cache-2_00-GHz-800-MHz-FSB

I strongly recommend that you run the wizard to upgrade to W8.1 before buying the operating system W8.1.

You won't find not all the W8.1 drivers on your laptop support page.

I have HP COMPAQ 6710 WINDOWS VISTA, I HAVE LOSS MY OS HOW to GET IT?

    Hello

You can contact HP and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing F11 at startup. (Power on / start)

You can also make your own recovery discs.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

  • Compaq 6710 b: my HP Compaq power on only when I plug in power. Don't turn on with the power button / stop!

I have a laptop HP Compaq 6710 b... Its more than 6 years...

The problem is really annoying... The laptop powers on only when I force taken into the spindle of the charger and the laptop works very well after that...
But the laptop never turns on when I try to power by pressing the power button!
I did not understand the reason why...

Any thoughts on this problem?  Help!

There are no settings in the BIOS that affect the use of the power button.

The power button works at the level of the material (firmware).

By pressing the button translates the action of the Commission of the conditions of the logic system.  There must be voltage at specific points in the power circuit. If the voltages are not present, then the power button does not work. This can be caused by a failure resistance, mlcc capacitor or a bad solder joint, if the power button has been tested and shown to work normally. Fluff even could cause this to happen. This can help out-performed by Visual inspection and using a multimeter.

  • "User profile could not be loaded" on Compaq 6710 computer b laptop Vista Business runningng

I came home from a 2 week stay to find that I couldn't connect to my laptop. At the time I was absent the laptop was turned off. When I enter the password to logon I get: "the user profile Service service has no logon. User profile cannot be loaded. "message. I tried to turn on the laptop for 3 hours, then tried to log in again, but without success. How to do this? Really would appreciate the help. Stephen

    Hello Stephen,

Tap away at f8 that you start the laptop to enter the Windows Recovery Console.  Use the arrow keys to select Safe mode and press ENTER.  If Windows loads in this mode, on the Start Menu, click principally made programs, click Accessories, click System Tools and run the system restore.  Choose the restore point you earlier and then do the restore.  When you are finished, Windows will restart normally.

  • Computer laptop HP Compaq 6710 b - NTLDR is missing

I'm having a problem - from the beginning.  I don't have a recovery for this computer cd.  I turned it on and when he started start-up he began to start in console recovery with a count down. Then he started in windows and I thought either and played a few games on it and looked at files, etc.  I made a stop "correctly" and then a few days ago and I turned it on and I kick it to me stand in the collection with the count down and then NTLDR is missing appears.  I tried several times to restart the unit, and nothing is done, it does not start in the operating system. Or it will start without failure or anything else.

I used a Seagate Disk Wizard utility CD to format the hard drive and run tests.  Now when I try to do a fresh install of XP PRO, it runs through the loading of files, drivers, etc..  When you get to the part of installation a blue screen appears and says that Setup did not find hard installed on the computer disc units. That the installation cannot continue.

I know that when I did the tests on the hard disk drive of utility Wizard showed that hd was located "unknown controller" rather than the motherboard controller.

The messages screen also says to make sure that any hard drive is turned on and connected to my computer and that any hardware configuration of the drives is correct and it may involve a manuf. - supplied diagnostic or Setup running.

    Please someone help?  1111

According to HP, this system has a SATA drive.

You have to enter the BIOS and change the configuration of hard drive to something which may include installation of XP.

I don't know exactly how on your system, but here are some notes that I have to put you on the road and maybe someone else will tell you exactly what you need to do:

Looks like you need enter the BIOS on your system by pressing the 'Delete', F2, F10 or F12 key (what the key is good for your system), find the section where the types of hard disks and hard disk interfaces are configured and temporarily change the setting so the XP installation is able to find the hard drive.

Where to find the accommodation and how to change depends on your system manufacturer and the version of the BIOS, so you end up having to look at her.  If you know your system brand and model, we can probably help you find a job.

You must locate and change the interface mode to your hard drive in the BIOS so that when installing XP loading, it will be able to locate the hard drive.

Before making adjustments, you should take note of what are the current BIOS settings, so you can change when you are finished.

The adjustment varies so here are some examples that I have accumulated:

The adjustment is done in the BIOS and could be in Integrated Peripherals, Configuration of SATA, SATA Mode device.  After you make the changes, save them and restart your XP installation program.

If you find that the mode is set on the RAID/SATA mode, change the IDE mode.

If you find that the mode is set to SATA, change the IDE mode.

If you find that the mode is set to SATA, SATA mode off.

If you find that the mode is set to AHCI, change the ATA mode.

If you find that the mode is set to AHCI emulation Mode, change the IDE emulation mode.

If you find that the mode is set to SATA, SATA mode off or change the ATA mode.

If you find that the mode is set to SATA Native Mode, disable the native SATA Mode.

If you find that the mode is set on AHCI/RAID Autodetect, change the combination mode.

After completing the settings, ACCEPT and SAVE changes and reboot the system and see if the configuration of the installation works properly now.

  • Check the speed of the Ram on Compaq 6710 b

    Hey guys,.

So I upgraded my Ram and disk HARD everything works beautiful (thank you banhien for help)

    I upgraded the Ram to DDR2 4200 (533 Mhz) to 6400(800Mhz) of DDR2.

How to check my ram is actually been comfigured to run at 800 Mhz instead of 533 Mhz?

    Thank you

    Hello:

You need to double the reading you get since it's DDR mentally.  This means that your memory is clocked at 667 MHz.

The Mobile Intel 965 chipset in your laptop can run at a maximum speed of 667 MHz memory.  That's why your downclocked to memory PC2-6400 800 MHz to 667 MHz.

The desktop version of the chipset handles the memory at 800 MHz, but the mobile version isn't that I discovered the other day...

  • HP Compaq nx6310 - Windows 7 32 bit - power-processor-core of event ID 37

    Hello everyone,

I just installed Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit on my HP Compaq nx6310 computer and whenever the system starts up, I get 2 warnings in Event Viewer

    • The speed of the CPU 0 in group 0 is restricted by the system firmware. The processor is in this state of reduced performance for 71 seconds since the last report.
    • The speed of the processor 1 group 0 is restricted by the system firmware. The processor is in this state of reduced performance for 71 seconds since the last report.

That also seems to happen on Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit Edition SP1, but it is not on my Windows XP system. The problem will not occur if the system (Windows Vista or Windows 7) has been started in safe mode. Is there something I can do to fix this?

Here are the specifications of my computer:

    • Processor: Intel Centrino Duo: Genuine Intel(r) CPU T2300 at 1.66 GHz (Dual Core)
    • Motherboard: Hewlett-Packard 30AA (KBC Version 58,13)

    Thank you
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much for your reply and I apologise for the delay. I tried to understand the problem, then I discovered that the maximum frequency of the processor is stuck at 59% via the resource monitor, I guess that's why I got a warning in the event log. I tried switching without result power plans. I think it's something to do with saving technology (even though I'm on AC) of energy, but I can't control how my processor or how power is saved via the BIOS (I don't have the options for this)

However, Safe Mode, I get 100% maximum frequency.

EDIT: I managed to understand it with the help of CPUID! My CPU clock is automatically reduced when I walked into Windows 7 in Normal Mode (I guess it's something to do with the processor), so I downloaded ThrottleStop and restored the multiplier to 10, where now is 99% maximum frequency and the computer is super fast! Thank you very much for your kind and helpful suggestions, I hope this helps anyone having the same trouble.

EDIT: The problem was EIST (Enhanced Intel Speedstep Technology), who strangled the CPU while it was hot. I disabled it remove its driver from the OS and then I was able to get 100% maximum frequency.
