  Help, please! One day, I restarted my pc I would normally, and it came with a code error on something in the sense of "we need to reboot your pc" so after days that I did get it back and actually log on windows. Now when I go into Device Manager, there are 4 things with yellow exclamation points.

  I had not used my old laptop Alienware M17x R4 for some time and there were a bunch of junk on it I didn't need and the computer is slow, and it could be a virus on it. So, I decided to do a cleaning of the computer one night later. I read a guide on how to do it and I reinstalled Windows 7 Home Premium with save or save the old unwanted files. When asked which driver to install Windows on, the guide was ambiguous and a mixture of fatigue and dyslexia led me to remove all the drives except the DATAPART (c :)) driver which has 29.8 GB of storage. I now have those 29.8 GB of storage and not the 1 TB driver that is on this computer. All graphics and video cards have been lost and I can't even connect to the WiFi on the PC.

  1 you seem to have misspelled readers and/or drivers as long as it is not possible to be completely sure what happened & what is the current situation.  Check and correct your post so that people can help you better.

  2. If you have installed Windows 7 on a disk of 29 / GB in your computer then "partition" has probably stored files Dell Factory Image Restore [DFIR].  This would explain why, you can't run now that the easy, but your comment, I have no storage is meaningless to me.

  • You could have supported DFIR to a USB port, but not many people take this precaution - do you have?
  • You may have a Windows 7 reinstall drive provided by Dell with your computer - do you?
  • What did you use to reinstall Windows 7?

  3 I don't know if your computer has multiple hard drives in it, or if a single hard drive has been "compartmentalised" into separate sections so that each behaves as if it were a separate disk drive.  It is essential to know because you or another

  need to remove the installation of Windows 7 and then reinstall on a larger drive,

  or

  You must increase the size of the partition in the partition you installed Windows 7 on [to, say, 100GB].  Then you will be able to partition off the power then format the rest of the hard disk as a data reader to separate your own operating system data files [this is a very useful to have Setup].

  Instructions for making these two things are radically different.  Whatever it is, you will need a good amount of computer skills to perform the task, and you might be better to ask someone else to do it for you.  You will need to use a partitioning tool [the built-in tool is called disk management , but many people prefer third-party tools such as Easeus Partition Manager].  The work is actually pretty easy if you know what do everyone you know who did this just before time would be able to do so or stand over your shoulder and will guide you.

I'm about to lose my mind trying to figure this out by myself.  I can't find a more appropriate contact you, so please forgive me if this isn't in your area or service. Everything on the official Liteon site I found and (tried to) read is in Taiwanese, and I am unable to read or translate.  If you could (have mercy on me) so help me or point me in the right direction - I would appreciate it very much .  I tried to understand what I have to do for 2-1/2 weeks and I have spent too much time on this when I should be spending time with my kids! :).

   

  My problem is the following... Recently, I ran a clean up/duplicate file registry cleaner program (ARO) and it seems also removed some vital and very much needed files, extensions, drivers, programs and who knows what else.  I had to download several other programs, file extensions and drivers from scratch, in order to get these things working again. But I can not for the life of understand me what to do with my Liteon CD-ROM. I also used the registry cleaner deletes "duplicate files", and after researching (too late), I found that it often confuses some files as duplicates when they are indeed not the same - post or file descriptions are very similar, or disable a single number or letter. I lost a lot of my pictures as well, and I'm heartbroken over. Anyway, the biggest problem I've noticed is that my CD ROM (Liteon CD-ROM LTN486S) will not work. It happened immediately after the registry cleaner 'cleaned' my folders and things - so I guess that's the culprit.  In fact, my computer is not recognizing even the CD ROM at all. It of Completely disappeared-MIA of 'Information/system components' lacks content 'My Computer' and when I try to update the drivers in the only place I can find that show the CD ROM (but with a large yellow explanation
  ! Mark) - in the "Device Manager" , I get the error: "Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) ». Then, when I right click on it and select "Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device", I get the same error: ("Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. I've looked everywhere on the internet for the driver for the "Liteon CD-ROM LTN486S' updates but unfortunately, I can't find. There are a few items that refer to the "OEM".  For some reason, I think it's the drivers, but I'm not computer very well informed. It could be something completely different. I wish I could uninstall info CD (only) existing Liteon I can find - and reinstall everything from zero (even do this? Please, tell!). Then... I thought that I contact me Liteon and ask for the drivers. It's at least a Start.  Could you tell me if there is something else I should do or review.
   
  My system info: I have a (Compaq Evo) Windows 2000 Professional SP3 XP. For what it's worth-(if this is important) it's a NIC PCI 32-bit, Intel Pentium 3, 700 MHz, 128 MB total memory, 20.0 GB hard drive, CD-Rom drive, CD - RW drive, 56 k Modem and 10 / 100Mb... (whatever the devil what is). Microsoft Update is in place and worked (automatically), and my system is "up to date" as far as MS is going.   Your computer came with XP? If your computer came with VISTA and was never made for XP, so no XP drivers will be available for the system. I looked at the HP site and could not find XP drivers, which probably means that it is a model of Vista, not XP. If it came with XP then call HP and they will be able to send you a XP disc for a small fee, like $15 or more.
