  I'm having a problem getting the Intel WiFi Link 5100 AGN on my HP Pavilion dv7-1275dx to connect to my router (Zyxel P334WT). It would connect intermittently, then disappears for no apparent reason and then refuses to connect for days. I contacted HP support and we spent three hours trying to solve the problem without success. Curiously, when I paste my adapter wireless Netgear WG111v2 USB into the computer, I am able to connect to my network without problem. The computer running Windows Home Vista 64-bit.   2 questions: cpu replacement must be the same speed of the fsb. Check intel.com for a list of the features of centrino processors. Secondly, the BIOS of the laptop must be able to accept the new processor.   (2) execute, create a swsetup c:\ directory

  Go on the side of Support HP and look for drivers for Presario R3000 and download the driver for Audio "SP28552" but do not install it. After you download the driver, search for the driver on the folder file download you too and right-click on it and select properties and then select "Change the setting for all users", once the pop-up window, select Compatibility Mode and select it for Window XP Service Pack 3 all the and click ok. Once you ok it click on the file to put in place and follow the steps.
  
  I did it on my Compaq Presario R3000 which has Window XP and I installed Windows 7 Enterprise 32 bit on it and it awesome except for the Audio that I just decided to work, but I still have problems with the Base system device drivers.

  ·         Are you able to boot to the desktop?

  You can try using an external keyboard, if you have and check. It's perhaps also a keyboard problem (hardware problem).

  You can try using the F8 key in normal mode with the Microsoft word document to check if this key works.

  Open a word document, and then select (highlight) text content. Now hold down SHIFT key and press the F8 key to reduce the selected content.

  OR

  You can hold down the ALT key and press the F8 key to open Windows Macros.

  Make sure you have caps lock key on your keyboard and could accidentally pressing it.

  (3) I am also aware that my laptop will have more memory, a minimum of 2 GB and now I have only 1, or to be more precise, it indicates "980 MHz, 0.99 GB of RAM. So, the motherboard, I have more memory accepts even if it runs on Win 7?

  To be honest, I am lost and don't know who I should looking for first, extra memory, or know if the existing motherboard will accept and run Win 7

  Yes, all that being said, is there anyone out there who is willing to help and advise an old wrinkled who desperately wants to get on with my college courses, BUT requires the use of a reliable laptop.
