HP CUE device discovery service

Hello

I'm running a Compaq Presario AMD Athlon (TM) 64 Processor 3300 +, 2411 MHz/1.93 GB RAM, running Windows XP Home Edition, SP3, IE7 and everything is completely updated and corrected.

I am the new owner of a HP Photosmart C5580 all-in-one.  It works great except that I see on some times when I start Windows, I get the text following error message listed in the "System" on my event viewer:

"HP CUE suspended starting devices Discovery Service."

(1) is - should I be worried?

(2) what is actually HP CUE Device Discovery Service?

(3) is it something I can turn off in 'Services' and not suffer any permanent damage?

Thank you and best regards,

2harts4ever

The "job" of this service is to identify all of the newly connected HP devices and configure them to be used with the program from the HP Solution Center. If this is the only device HP, you will use with this PC, you can disable it in the Services list as you clear any other service. be sure to stop everything first.

  • Blue screen on a Vista Ultimate computer with My Book World Edition NAS drive when SSDP Discovery service is enabled.

I recently added a Western Digital My Book World Edition (White Light) 1 TB NAS drive to my home network for backup purposes. The drive works very well with my two wired computers Windows XP and my computer Windows Vista Home Edition wireless. My problem is with Windows Vista Ultimate (32 bit) wireless station (a Lenovo IBM ThinkPad X 61 Tablet PC).

On the Vista Ultimate computer, if I have sudden, Normal startup, then the computer will work fine except for when I go to shut down the computer. When I stop, the computer crashes for twenty minutes, suffered a blue screen (BSOD, saying he was arrested wrongly) event and then restarts automatically. This only happens if the drive My Book World Edition is online on the network. Turn the player off line and there is no problem on the computer.

I reduced the problem down to the SSDP Discovery service. If I disable the SSDP Discovery service, then the problem goes away. (I do not consider that a viable permanent solution.)

The big difference between Vista computers is only on the computer to Vista Home (one that has no problem), MIMBOE drive does not appear in Device Manager at all. On the computer Vista Ultimate (the one with the problem), the reader MIMBOE appears once under the record heading and once under system devices.

Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

Sorry to everyone i this is my first attempt to answer.  I had the same problem with the hard drive WD book networked world stop.  WD has released a new firmware that fixed my problem on September 10, 2009.  I suggest that you try to update the firmware and maybe you'll be as lucky as I was.

  • How can I disable WPDBusEnum aka Portable Device Enumerator Service? __ __

I were quick around more than a week with a synchronization with a SanDisk "memory sticks WMP problem".  I came on what could be a possible solution, IE cut the WPDBusEnum aka Portable Device Enumerator Service.
    Anyone know how to disable?

    Bindu S,.
Since I never want to synchronize anything, I never tried to synchronize the WMP with SanDisk.
However it is 'uncontrolled mode' WMP sync once to the Sandisk.
The problem I had was trying to No SYNCHRONIZATION.
Apparently turning off device enumerator Service Portable solved my problem!

I don't see none of 'Symptoms' I was trying to prevent.

  • DFM 3.0.1 about device discovery

    Hello

I have a problem of DFM 3.0.1 device detection.

I installed LMS 3.0.1 on a stand-alone server based on VMWare Infrastructure 3. Common services, Campus Manager, CiscoView, RME and IPM properly so far.

When I tried to import DCR in DFM devices, the status of the discovery still hangs on "pending" or "learning" with an increase of 10%. I also noticed that the two processes are always stop automatically on the server whenever the server is restarted:

"DFMCTMStartup, the DataPurge process are declining.

Advice to solve this problem please? I thank very you much in advance!

    Richard

What version of DFM have you? If less than 3.0.3 you should switch to 3.0.3 to see if it is the known bug of DLL conflicts.

    Hi, Carl L_942,.

Connect the Sansa Fuze and put into MSC mode. This enabled the majority of users with this problem. Check if it helps you too.

    For more information, see:

    Additional reference on:

Check and change the device to the master or the MTP USB mode

The only problem with Media Player 11 and Sansa device is the synchronization of album art to the device.

  • E330 - battery drains, need details on which devices and services to turn off

    Hello guys!

It's a well known problem that in some cases the battery drains while the unit is turned off. I read the forums and know I have to disable some devices. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to / how to find them on my laptop.

I have a 8.1 Windows freshly installed on my PC, no bloatware on it (yet). So everything I do I do it myself, by the Manager of devices etc. But where to start? I know my laptop automatically starts up when I "opened". This doesn't happen, if I remove the battery and put it again. So there must be a small current flowing? Maybe it's my guilty?

    Please help me guys CIHI.

  • How to set QoS priority by device and service on C7000 Modem/Router?

I would like to set the priority to my VOIP (OOMA) connected to the Ethernet port. Don't see anyway in the Engineering menu to access QOS, even if the item appears on other models of Nighthawk...

    Appreciate any advice.

    Hello ceeteebee

QoS is not apart of the C7000 if you want this feature, you do not buy a cable modem and use one of the routers as the R7000 Nighthawk.

  • OfficeJet 6500 E709 series: re - install officejet 6500 E709 series after upgrate to windows 7 to 10

After upgrate to windows 7 to 10, do not connect 2 laptops I use with prinder (office jet 6500 E709, usb - no wifi connection). I have download the latest drivers. The previus program was uninstalled and the new drivers have been resettled. However, a message to stop the HP CUE Device Discovery Service appeared during the progress of the installation.  However the service is not in the list of services. The list includes hpqcxs08 and HP Support Solution Framework Service, but not the HP CUE...

I can NOT CONNECT the PRINTER, a SOLUTION please?

    Hi @iat1,

I don't know what is causing this problem.

I have provided with steps to unlock the hidden administrator account and the installation of the printer on this account to see if this will help this situation.

Note: Do not connect the USB cable until you are prompted during the installation.

    • Go to your Start menu and in the box "search programs and files", type CMD.
    • CMD will fill as an option to search above, just right-click on it and "run as Administrator".
    • Once opens in CMD (command prompt), type net user administrator / Active: Yes and press ENTER.
    • Then, close CMD and then restart your computer.
    • When your computer is on the newspaper in the new account which should show. It will be called Administrator and will not have a password on it.
    • If your computer automatically connects to your account after the restart then go to your Start menu and click on the arrow next to 'shutdown' and choose 'change user '. Now log on to the administrator account, that we have just released.
    • Under the administrator account, install the printer software.
    • Test the printer.
    • To disable the Admin account start at step 1 and type net user administrator / active: No..

If you still experience this issue, it may be the user's profile. Create a new user and try to install the printer on this account.

    • Open user accounts by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, click user accounts and family safety (or by clicking on user accounts, if you are connected to a network domain), and then clicking user accounts.
    • Click on manage another account.
    • Click on create a new account.
    • Install the printer on this account.

    Thank you!

  • Subject: Driver HP causing windows initialization time-out

    Hello

I use Win XP SP4 (+ all THE other fixes) and with the latest updated drivers HP C4480 printer (HP Photosmart C4400 - 61.73.245.0 series). The system works ok and the printer works as well.

However, AFTER I installed the HP drivers I noticed that my computer was starting up is faster than before (~ 50seg). Now it's about 02:30 minutes to be usable (for example to show the office and its icons and the taskbar).

After you enable (or discount), the system begins to boot normally. I see the message "loading of preferences" and, a few seconds later, my screen background image * only *. The computer seems to be 'frozen': no disk or CPU activity. So, after about 01:10 min I see the disk activity and the desktop icons and the taskbar appears (start-up time total = ~ 2:30 min). The system works very well then.

If I uninstall drivers and HP SW, everything supports to normal (IE start 50 ~ 60seg).

    Any suggestion?

    Thank you

Windows XP SP4? Interesting you are running a service pack, not yet released by Microsoft!

    in any case, try this...

    1. click on the start menu and click on "Run" and type "services.msc" and press the Enter key.
    2. in the Services window, locate the HP CUE Device Discovery Service and double-click it.
    3. you should find something that says "Startup Type" Change this to "manual".
    4. click on the button "Apply" and close all windows.

try to restart your computer and see if it loads fast now.
