  Hello retabox, welcome.

  It would seem that the installer is corrupted. I recommend trying to use the Windows Installer Cleanup utility to force - to remove the application. Try this:
  1. go to: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
  2. click on the download link in the middle of the page
  3. save the file to your desktop or just click Run the installation of the application
  4. once the application is installed, open the utility. The utility must be located in the menu START under (START > programs > Windows Installer...)
  5. in the utility, find the application you want to uninstall, and then click the button 'delete' below
  6. once removed, restart the computer and see if you can reinstall the application

  So it's very definitely a stupid question, but I recently lost my Adobe Illustraor software as my mac has been cleaned. I now use a 30 day trial and need to make changes to a presentation of work. I'm having no trouble opening the document HERE, but much of the written text is highlighted with a pink clear color however there no option to turn off highlighting. All the text is highlighted.   What I found in the manual which has been if ECM (Error Correction Mode) is selected color faxes cannot be received or sent. Try to check if it is on / off. If off try toggling the option.

  To change the setting of the ECM from the control panel

  1. from the home screen, tap (right arrow), and then select Setup.

  2. press Fax Setup, and then click Advanced fax setup.

  3. Select the Mode of Error Correction.

  4. Select on or off.
