  I recently bought a designjet 111. The first page I printed (linedrawings) came out perfectly, the second page, I tried (linedrawings + a few pictures) the printer no longer starts.

  Now, I have the same problem: the printer just will not start. I tried to turn my laptop and printer, changed USB ports, off the sign 'offline',... nothing seems to work.

  Then all of a sudden it started printing (not sure what I did differently), but stopped after 5 centimeters, drove from the page and cut it. I tried again and then print 30 centimetres and stopped. Now, it does not print at all.

• Designjet 5500 does not print a color (Magenta), head scratcher

  Hello all and thanks in advance. I'll try to be brief with my problem. I was wondering if anyone of you advanced users have experienced this problem and if I am wrong in my assumptions: granted Designjet 5500, work status unknown, for my personal use (mainly CAD). Replace the belt, system of tube of ink, cartridges and printheads (belt was shot, the ink tube sank cyan) system started successfully with print heads of installation showing all 6 colors of ink. Ran diagnostic impression. Magenta is totally absent in prints of Diagnostics 1 and 5. Not even a trace of color. I tried the calibration and fails with the error 6009, understandable. tubes of ink to the transport still show all 6 colors. printer initializes generally very good, with all the list OK print heads (because they are all new!). But sometimes throws an error 0032 00000004 0c fall detector, but not always. Fall sensor cleaned. My thought is that the Magenta Printhead is about shooting. Given that all the tubes of ink and no ink bubble comes OK. The fact that she sometimes error 0c 0032, but sometimes not, said that the printhead magenta must be fired sometimes at startup.   The first you see, it's actually the flowing magenta printhead ink. Take a damp paper towel, then press the printhead magenta in the towel and you should get two lines of ink. If you need a comparison, take the black and do the same thing. If you don't get two complete lines, then you can try to soak the print head in warm water (the temp) for about 2 minutes and pat dry with paper towels. Most of the time you can tell right away because when you place a print head in hot water should flow little ink and water take on the colour of the print head. Also make sure that it is not the magenta head light print and magenta. My feeling is that if you have a problem of thin cable you get an error message since the main Board check electrical connections to the print head during initialization, and when printing.   What operating system the drivers are different for each operating system. If you still have the T520 driver loaded, change the port to the port of the T120, and see if it works like so many drivers use the same printer language.

  That's what my problem was. I was using a USB to serial. So I bought a USB to parallel cable from E - bay and set up on the vertual printer port and everything works now.

• Designjet Z2100: HP Designjet Z2100 does not print MK

  I have a HP Z2100 44 "which is out of warranty for several years.  Recently, we noticed that the color printing large format have been turned off (do not look right).  Finally, we ran a diagnostic image (see below) and found that there is no matte black printing (MK).  All other colours print completely and correctly in the image diagnosis, except MK.  I ran this test with bond paper and glossy photo - the results are the same.  No MK ink is printed during each test.

  We replaced the cartridge MK both MK/Cyan printhead, but the problem persists.

  Any suggestions for how to start troubleshooting when one color is unable to print?

  This question seems to have been caused by other defective printhead.  I had already replaced the printhead, but it replaces a second time seems to have solved the problem.  For the time being.

I have the printer connected to my computer via the USB port on a docking station HP residing in my laptop (Elitebook 800 G1 win 7 pro x 64). Also, it is connected via a parallel to the NIC dongle to make it available on the network for everyone to print too so. All can print, I can print but the Cyan is not always print and before you buy new print heads, I would like to clean and align with the Maintenance Utility. I tried to use the printer in the dock station, plugging directly into the laptop and the network to connect, but won't find printer. I tried the alignment of the front that I found in other forums, and it did not work. Whenever I went to the printer, I uninstalled all drivers and and the computer and rebooted system maintenance utilities. I installed the drivers from the HP website, from the disc initially supplied with the printer and our network, still no change print server. Am still able to print but not to run diagnostics or alignments. I've scoured the forums HP and all the "recommended" patches have never someone who in fact confirms the
  'Fix' worked. Can someone help with this problem? It has been about 4 days that I'm looking into this and frankly it's kinda ridicolous saw that it's a plug-and-play printer. Thanks in advance for any advice you may have!

  Well, the network adapter has failed. I managed to install the software, but he gave a generic IP address of the printer and gave me the same mistake of not being able to communicate with the printer. So, I pulled up an old laptop XP downloaded the drivers from the HP site, rebooted, printed the test page with success and installed the system maintenance utility. And WHOLA, I saw the printer immediately in the USB of Maintenance section and was able to run the diagnostic page and determine our problem. Thanks again for your help Mike!

  We have a problem trying to calibrate our Designjet 800.  We have shredded (not straight) lines in the calibration methods and nothing works to fix.

  We have tried all methods of calibration, tried everything in the 'troubleshooting procedure' in the manual etc'...

  You print outs looked very nice and ask yourself why you said could not calibrate.

  Assume that if your printer cannot print head alignment & it will retry shortly several times by himself, to give you a message to fail or success at the end.
