  • HP Pavilion DM3 1100: HP DM3 1100 hybrid series and Windows 10 compatibility chart

    Hello!

I am running W7HP x 64 on my DM3 of Pavilion with hybrid graphic system (Mobile Intel 4 series) and GeForce G105M. I'm worried because I'm not sure that the hybrid function works - which means that it will pass graphics cards according to the source of power and power management.

Can anyone confirm that the hybrid function works or is there any other app/trick/hack that I can use? I need discrete and integrated graphics to work when I'm connected to working with graphics applications (editing photo or 3D modeling light).

    1 million thanks!

Scratch higher response! I did the job! I downloaded driver win 7, began the installation so that the files were extracted to the SWSETUP folder, leave the installation to finish in normal mode (no compatibility mode). At this point, there is no difference. Then I restarted my laptop and opened Device Manager and updated the driver manually selecting the inf file in the subfolder SWSETUP. I then did a bit of fiddling around with deactivation and activation of integrated graphics card Intel and all of a sudden, the LED TV light on and there was the desk! Although the resolution was not standard full HD, but something more small to 1680 x 1050. Disconnect and reconnect the HDMI Cable causes the actions required, which means that the laptop screen turns on and turns off properly.

I hope it'll work with my desktop LCD screen to... :/ Will report!

Plugged a USB to parallel port, but could never print - and yes I changed USB0001 to the LPT1 port.

No line printer displays in Device Manager.

This HP550C also has a serial port.

Connected a DB25 cable to motherboard printer COM port.

    Enalbe COM1 in the BIOS.

Yet once could NOT get printer to print.

    ---------------------------------------

SUPPORT - I like this old printer and print only the leaves of about 25 to 50 per year.

My HP Deskjet 500 c stood up and going by adding a side of card

StarTech.  Card # is PEX1P.    Card has been configured on LPT3 (its default value)

and the pport.inf driver has been used.

When installing the driver, if it fails to install - or - you have made previous attempts to get the printer working.

Make sure you have the print queue before you install or reinstall the driver.

If the queue is NOT empty, the printer will be set as

HP500C (1 copy) or ' copy # ' according to the number of objects is in the queue.

  • HP Deskjet 5940: deskjet 5900 series driver windows

    Hello

How can I install my old printer HP Deskjet 5940, as my new laptop has Windows 10? Drivers do not seem to work with WIndows 10. Thank you!

    Hi @Mirjami,

Thanks for joining the Forums of HP Support with your request for installation.

I understand that you have a HP Deskjet 5940 printer you want to install on a computer Windows 10. I would like to help.

This printer has more no driver available for download on the Web site because it was added to the list of retirement products. When HP adds a product to this list all the online resources are drawn from the site.

The printer is listed as being compatible with Windows 10. You will be able to install the software by using the built-in Windows print driver. So here's a support document which covers how this can be done - in installation and using the built-in Windows print driver.

Please let me know if that solves the problem, or if you need assistance.

Indeed, if this help you to achieve a solution please click the 'accept as Solution' and the 'thumbs up' buttons down below in this message.

    Thank you!

  • Problems with DeskJet 460 (WiFi) and Windows 7 (x 64)

I was able to configure my DeskJet 460 with my laptop running Windows 7 64 bit, but I encountered some problems:

Of course, there is no Windows 7 HP Toolbox, so I went in the printer properties in hopes of using the printer services tab to align the print heads after installing new cartridges, but while the printer services tab is there, there is no button or anything at all.  So, how to align the print heads?

The other issue has to do with the evolution of my printer WiFi card so that I can put its IP address manually.  Usually, I could do that through box HP Toolbox, but since my upgrade to Vista x 64, this isn't an option.  Is there another way to get around this?  I don't know, but I recall being able to use my browser and simply type the IP address of the printer as I can with my C7180 but it did not work, even if the Wireless Setup page gave me the IP address.

I did a test print to a Microsoft Word 2007 document and then perfectly printed text, the URL listed in the document did not print.  For comparison, I printed the same document using the C7180, and there is no problem.

And finally, the center of HP solutions don't list not the DeskJet 460, only the C7180; is there a reason for this?

    Any help/comments are appreciated!

I can answer one of your questions - why Solution Center does not DeskJet460?

Because this DeskJet does not complete solution support, the 'hooks' solution for the 460 Center are not created.  HP develops special software for each printer have the Solution Center feature.

  • How to install a printer hp deskjet f4200 series with windows 7 ultimate

I have the disc and when I put and try to add printer says spooler does not feed so I tried to diagnose problems and it says something about the not shared printer and it drives me crazy. Why can't I install a simple printer?

    Hello Angela,.

The spooler service is required for a printer at work; It starts automatically when Windows starts. So the first thing I would say is restart your computer without the disc. Then, once the computer has restarted, insert the disc and try again.

If this does not work, you might want to try the hp.com site. Here, you can download the latest version of your driver, but also diagnostic tools that could help to diagnose printer problems. Go here and enter your model number: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/support-drivers.html .

Let me know if this helps you.

    Kind regards

If you added new hardware then delete and restart.  Also disconnect external devices and try to start.  If those who do not help, I would start with your XP CD to recovery mode and run "chkdsk/r" then "sfc/scannow" QQ learn to deal!

  • HP Deskjet 6980 loses wired connectivity

The printer seems to disconnect for unknown reasons. Especially when a document needs to be done before a deadline (!)

A laptop (vista) computer is wireless (WEP2) a Netgear router and the printer is connected via an ethernet cable to the router.

IP address of printers may be the laptop ping, but the printing status window shows "HP Deskjet 6980 Series - offline".

I powered cycled the laptop and the printer and connected the laptop to the router with an ethernet cable for the factor "wireless" out of the loop.

'Connect' is greyed out - I guess that means that it is connected?

I have another laptop (vista) and it is working OK this laptop, so I think which precludes "equipment/wiring.

The only reliable "cure", I found is to remove the printer and reinstall, and it works again - until the next time, a few days later.

Regarding the changing from automatic to manual subnet mask, it is normal if you enter a fixed or static IP address.  If your router will allow you to reserve static IP addresses, it might be useful to set the printer in the router.  You access it the same way you got to the printer, the IP address will be printed on the router.  I chose an IP address that is a long way from my PC, the PC address 192.168.1.2, printer IP 192.168.1.100, both with 255.255.255.0 as the subnet.  Of course, you are on the right track, if your system has kept the printer OK for 4 days.  I reset my router and turned off everything several times since I made the changes and everyone is always happy.  Good luck

  • HP Deskjet 6980 will not install via USB or network

I've recently updated my PC with a new mother/case/CPU card, etc. and trying to set up my Deskjet 6980 he tries to install two separate drivers.  One is named HP Deskjet 6980 DOT4USB and the other just HP Deskjet 6980.  Dot4USB installation is complete, however the drivers for "Hp deskjet 6980" fail.  The printer indicates only in my "devices and printers" as "HP Deskjet 6980" with an icon of troubleshooting.  whenever I run troubleshoot it tells me I need to install the drivers.  He's trying to install the drivers through troubleshooting or Windows Update every time, she fails.

I tried to uninstall all instances of the name Deskjet from my computer, turn off the printer, restarted my computer and then turn on the printer/plug again for the same results.

I plugged my printer on the network and while my laptop has no connection/printing problem, when I try to add it as a network printer in "Devices and printers" it gives me an error message saying "unable to install.  "Double check the name of the printer and make sure that the printer is connected to the network.  I tried both options "Use the driver is installed" and "replace the driver" and both give me the cannot install message.

Some tips on what might be the problem or how to fix?  I downloaded each item including HP Deskjet 6980 on site without success.

Windows 7.  As mentioned, the printer works perfectly when connected to my laptop via USB or wireless connection, my PC just does not want to connect via either.

HP Print & Scan doctor tells me that I must not get the installer of your website, however there is no installer for Deskjet 6980.  The "Printer Install Wizard" & "Hardware diagnostic utility" mean that the printer is not supported by the software.   When I plug in the printer it goes through the process of installing driver as follows:

I tried the update through troubleshooting, Windows Update and even to get the file on the Microsoft Web site (pg no longer exists). I thought about trying to find the driver on my laptop, but I'm not sure the actual name of the file what.

    * EDIT *.

Looks like I solved the problem myself.  I don't know why, but my printer has appeared only at random in my Uniblue DriverScanner program (it would not be displayed when I looked before).  I was able to download & install from program Driverscanner and my printer works perfectly.  A strange question, but at least it was an easy fix.

    Thank you.

  • HP Deskjet 990Cxi series professional and Windows 7

I have this printer for several years and I've always been happy with it. Also, for some PHOTO prints, it was OK!

Now, I installed Windows 7 (32 bit) on my PC and everything goes wrong with my impressions.

The colors are bad and it is almost impossible to get a picture decent impression.

I changed both cartridges in order to be sure that this was not a printer problem.

Now I'm sure is a DRIVER problem.

Everything was ok until I'm his own driver and WIN 7.

All changes with the new OS.

What to do? Is there a solution? Or it's time to change the printer?

    Thank you very much!

The Deskjet 990 is approximately a dozen years at this stage if the drivers have not been updated for Windows 7 beyond the drivers supplied with Windows Update.  You can try the following: go to printers and devices, right-click on the Deskjet 990, select printer, port properties, and then note the port settings.  Then cancel from here, and in the devices and printers folder add a printer, chose the same port used for the Deskjet 990c, then, click Windows Update.  It will take a few minutes to repopulate.  Once he did seek the Deskjet 5550 HP (Hewlett-Packard no) series (HPA) (HP) and select this option.

Deskjet 5550 driver should be compatible with your 990c and give a few additional choices in the driver.  The selection of 4800 dpi won't work for photos, but additional types of paper as well as the automatic paper type selection should work.  To Activate the duplexer using the Deskjet 5550 driver see here.

  • HP Deskjet 6980 and Windows 7

My old computer was Windows XP.  I was using a HP Deskjet 6980.  Automatic duplex printing will not work with 6980 drivers, but I was able to make it work with my old Deskjet 990 drivers.

My new computer runs on Windows 7.  Automatic duplex printing option is disabled.  The Deskjet 990 drivers are not compatible with Windows 7.  If I try to manual duplex printing, the paper feeds properly the second time through and I end up wasting a lot of paper and ink.  20 pages, I can get one or two to print correctly.

There are drivers out there that will allow me to do automatic duplex printing?

HP Deskjet 990c drivers do not work on Windows 7.

There are 990c Deskjet drivers available in Windows 7 through Windows Update as described here.  I installed it on my x 64 system and it works for me...
