  According to conventional wisdom, you should not install new drivers, if all goes well with your computer, because doing so may mess up something that worked fine before. It is true that this side effect can occur, but you're much more likely to improve the performance of your PC.

  Unfortunately there is no Win 8 driver for this unit on our esupport.  There are Win 7 drivers but I don't know if it will work or not...

  I just installrd Windows 7 (64-bit) and can't get my HP 895cxi printer at work. It is supposed to be compatible. I think I downloaded a driver for 895cxesomehow.   Deskjet 895Cxi 895Cxe are the same printer model, they were just provided through various sales channels.  The driver is the same.  Are which driver you trying to download?  There is no downloadable Windows 7 driver for the Deskjet 895 series on the HP site, there are only instructions for the installation of the drivers available through Windows Update.

  Welcome to the HP Forums.
  
  Unfortunately for the Windows 7 operating system, there is no software available that could even be downloaded and moved. This printer is installed through the Windows updates (installation of the printer software in Windows 7 for a USB cable connection), which means that these computers requiring an Internet connection.
  
  If you can somehow push updates, this can work. Other wise, there may be a work around, but I am not sure it will work.
  
  You can try the base plug & play, to see if the computer recognizes the printer itself. If it isn't then you will need a driver. You can then go to start > device/printers > add a printer > choose existing port (must list what the printers trendy) > select HP in the left panel, then check if the 980 is displayed on the right. If it is not try the Deskjet 9800 (it's a generic driver). It would be the only work around for not going online.

  Gary. Having the same problem. Printer would work on 10.6, but only print black and white. In the system preferences / change fax print driver for the printer HP deskjet 5400 series. It seems to work OK. Been printing from photoshop, office files and preview everything is OK for now. Hope this helps

  Try these steps and check whether that can help you:

  1) open Windows Explorer, type folder in the address bar and press to enter.

  2) navigate to the extracted installation folder, it will start by 7z (e.g. 7z1234s)
  Note: If there is sevberal 7z files select the newest one

  3) go into the subdirectory "Setup."
  (4) move, delete or rename the Intel USB System Check (usbready.exe) utility
  5) double-click the Setup.exe executable in the main extraction folder (7zxxxxxx)

  You see no difference after completing these steps?

  I bought the home edition of windows 10 must be installed with bootcamp on my Mac Pro (latest version).

  After a few seconds the bootcamp drivers installation, I get a blue screen saying "kernel Security Check Failure. I tried to re-parititon and re - install windows with bootcamp 10 several times and the results are the same. I found an earlier version of windows 10 online and when I tried to install it, the problem goes away. but then when I update this old windows 10 with the update of the anniversary, the problem appears again. so I guess that the problem is related to that! in safe mode I get no blue screens. today I intend to try to uninstall the driver of each training camp in a tower, until I tell me what is the cause of blue screen. so far, I removed the graphics drivers, but the results are the same.

  If anyone can provide all the information on how to study this issue further away, or maybe even solve it, I'll appreciate it more! Thank you
