I have a HP Pavilion g6 - 1d96nr Notbook PC.  I want to know if the DVD burner in my laptop (hp DVDRAM GT50N SATA CdRom) is capable of burning DVD double layer.  Thank you.

Hello

According to me, it does, but you can visualize all the multimedia capabilities of your optical drive using the free app at the following link.

    Hello

Open windows control panel, open Device Manager, open CD/DVD-ROM drives, right-click the drive and select Properties.  On the general tab, is there an error code in the device status box - if there is, post back with the details.

  • Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware (HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH40F SCSI CdRom Device) because the driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

    Original title: the answer useful?

Help, please! Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware (HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH40F SCSI CdRom Device) because the driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

    Hello

Code 39 means that the driver is corrupted or missing.

Please make all below even if you have done some before as it is often the set of operations which solves
    the question.

    Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a loose cable or
slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

    --------------------------------------------------------------

Also check with your system manufacturer to see if there are any updated drivers for your DVD. Or even if it
are you can reinstall the 'old'. Many use Windows default drivers however some special aura
ones. Also check the website of the manufacturer of the car.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

  • HP DVDRAM GT50N

I have a HP Pavilion Notebook with HP DVDRAM GT50N DVD R/W drive installed with Windows 8 OS. The device seems to work very well, my question is: this material is compatible with Blu - Ray discs and where could I safely find software support if it is?

    Hello:

This device is not able to play blue ray discs.  It can read and burn CDs and DVDs.

You need a blue ray player to play blue ray discs.

A player able to play blue ray discs would have a descriptor of BD - RE not DVDRAM.

Hello!  CD-ROM can only send and receive data much, much less then the max of a SATA 3 Port and even less SATA 6 ports which seem to be in your computer, so you don't have to worry about port to use.
