HP Envy 15: HP ENVY does not start!

Laptop crashed with page error and blue screen. Now does not start. Followed advice to reset by removing the battery etc etc, but when I power on I just get the wifi switched on continuously (orange) button and the lock button flashing.  Nothing else happens - just a black screen. Why not work to hard reset and what do I do now?

  • HP envy Phoenix: win 7 does not start with connected external hard drive

I have a desktop HP Envy Phoenix with i7 chip and an SSD for the OS.  If I connect via USB external drive of 3 TB WD for the backup of the system does not start while it is attached.  The pc seems to be trying to boot from the outside, can't find the OS and does not start.  It will start fine with small external drives connected.  It is the size of the disk? Is there a way to fix this?

    Hello

The WD drives seem to pose problems of my potential.  I have used other brands such as Seagate and Hitachi without running into problems with external USB drives causing the system to boot.  Maybe it's the USB adapter that I use which does not cause starting problems.

    @tpetras

I used the adapter HP USB 3, which uses drivers NEC or TI and has never had a problem starting via a USB external (non - WD) readers.

    See if this will help.

Did you create HP recovery disks or HP USB recovery disc?

If not, then please consult this HP documenton the recovery of your PC. Select "recovery of your laptop. The instructions are to win 8 but apply to 8.1 Win.

    You will lose all data.

Have you tried refreshing your PC?

Your hard drive is failing, fast (these things last forever). You need to replace as soon as POSSIBLE. If you have important data on what cannot be replaced I suggest you plug it into another computer as an external drive and pulling all the data you need it off.

If you do not have the possibility to connect the drive directly on another PC, you can download a live Linux CD/USB.

Step 1: Acquire a blank CD or USB. If you use a USB port, format it in FAT32.

Step 2: Insert your chosen in your PC Backup media.

    Step 3: Download Unetbootin.

Step 4: Select a distribution in the drop-down list. Just about anything will work, but for your application, I would recommend "Puppy Linux".

    Step 5: Select your media.

Step 6: Once Unetbootin is complete, insert your media in the PC is installed on the corrupted hard drive.

Step 7: Boot puppy. (You may need to select your Flash DRIVE or a CD in your BIOS)

Step 8: The use of the included file manager, mount the hard drive and browse for the files you need. You can then save these on another DRIVE or a CD drive, or the internet.

  • HP ENVY laptop - 15-k101nx: HP envy 15 does not start after failing to set up

Failed to configure Windows (it took so long and shows no percentage) so I turned off my laptop, removed and unremoved battery and turned on it. The problem is it does not start and the screen is all black with little light on it.

    What I've done so far:

-J' tried to restore the BIOS by following the instructions here say: http://support.hp.com/ee-en/document/c02693833 ; However, I still have the same problem after restoring the BIOS.

-J' also tried a few hardware diagnostic test, he failed in the test of ' disk hard short dst check "and gave me chess and product IDS.
-He also failed in the Startup Repair tool

My laptop is still covered with warranty accdg here 'http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/weInput?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&tmp_weCountry=&tmp_weSerial=&tmp_wePro... '. but the characters upon receipt of my laptop is already melted aways since they are written on a thermal paper.

BTW, I can always open the command prompt and the research on the C: drive and see my files, but don't know what to do whenever I used the chkdisk command, it asks me to do things I'm not familiar with.  I just heard that the chkdisk command solves the problem temporarily.

What do you think are the alternatives and solutions to the problem of my laptop?

Yes the hard drive needs to be replaced. Just call support and they will have it replaced for you under warranty.

  • Desktop HP Envy 700qe: failure motherboard on HP Envy 700qe desktop, does not start

My computer does not start.  It's the same problem I had in December 2015 still under warranty.  HP replaced the motherboard.  Now (July 2016) is once again, it is beyond the 90 days replacement warranty.  I can buy another motherboard for replacement and install it myself?  If Yes, what is the replacement part that I should look for?  I have Intel core i7-4770 3.4 G 8 M 84w CPU and 2 TB of disk hard.

You're welcome, @Bobirdie.  Thank you for the additional information.

This is a refurbished motherboard from Newegg.  Personally, I would have no problem to buy from them.  I bought thousands of dollars of computer components to them.  You can look at the following to see if you can find one for less money.  I think you'd be able to find a new one on ebay.

If you have never replaced a motherboard, and even if you replaced one, my best advice is take some very good pictures of the motherboard before you start deleting connections.  I normally lable cables on the power supply unit (PSU).  It would be good to take pictures of the connectors to the front of the case, too.  This will save you a lot of frustration later.  It is not difficult if you take your time and I suggest to use an anti-static wristband to make sure you do not damage the components.

  • Envy 17: laptop does not start

Yesterday, I downloaded the update for Adope Flash fixed zero-day, and in a few hours, my laptop crashed and does not start. Yes, maybe it is not something, but it's the only addition I made for a laptop works perfectly.

Software HP tries to fix the problem without success. Or go back to a system restore point. An entry stops the process. I have a repair for Windows 7, 64 bit disc, but when the system crashed there is a CD in the drive and having no control, can't do this, unless you can give me the steps to try it.

The other shows, alternatives HP is a supposedly reduced image recovery affecting the OS, drivers and the software selected. This means that my programs and data remain intact in this process.

The last alternative offered is to restore the State of the plant.  Any suggestions are appreciated

    @qpen ,

Hello again.  You have to do is remove the CD-ROM drive in your system, it's usually a screw that holds it in.

With regard to the recovery he will wipe away your own system so you need to do is to take it to someone to back up your files by removing the hard drive and put it in an external hard drive enclosure.

I hope that it is of little help.

Thanks again for posting and have a great day.

  • FF does not start. FF does not work on any other user accounts on this computer, but it works fine on another pc on our home network. Thanks for any help you can offer.

The computer is a HP Envy 17 laptop. Firefox does not appear on the list of the Manager of process tasks or applications. System Restore has not fixed the problem. Google Chrome works well. Internet Explorer works well until I tried to download Firefox. Then it crashes too. This pc work Firefox very well since I bought it 10 months ago. I upgraded FF3 4 then 5 with no problems. All of a sudden yesterday it stopped working. There is no error message and of course FF does not start because there is no list of Firefox in the process tasks or applications Manager. I tried to uninstall Firefox, then tried to download usingInternet explore, but when I click on the download button on the site of Mozilla, Internet Explorer crashes. I did a system restore to 16/08/11 when Firefox was still working. This restored the program but it still does not work. Google Chrome seems to work very well. My internet access is through wifi via a Verizon Fios Actiontec router. I use Symantec Endpoint Protection against the virus and make having all programs Norton or Skype do not appear in the Panel. My pc is set for automatic updates from Microsoft and HP. They both say that my software is up to date. Y at - it a fix for this problem or is it a sinister plot by Microsoft to force us to use Internet Explorer?

Download Firefox using some other browser (Chrome, Safari, IE) of one of the mirrors here:

    Uninstalling Firefox

    Install Firefox on Windows

Check and tell if its working.

  • HP Pavilion p6210pt desktop PC: after the installation of the new module of RAM PC does not start and continues to beep.

    Hello

I am trying to upgrade the RAM on my PC. I don't know I got the correct specifications: 240 pin DDR3 PC3 - 10600 1333 MHz

And it comes to envy, I bought, Kingston.

The PC has 6 GB of RAM and a free slot, after I insert the new module on the free location corretly and press power, the PC does not start. It starts just a beep and the screen remains black.

Don't know how better to explain this.

If I take the new RAM all works normally. If I take old modules and just start by the new, the same thing happens, computer won't start not and just keeps to the beep. One of the Tweets is longer than the other, and then it repeats.

Can anyone help please, it's just the motherboard it is too old or something?

    Thank you.

    See you soon.

    JO

    Hello

Given that your PC works with the old DIMM modules and not the new dimm then you should contact Kingston for a cure.

  • Siri does not start under macOS Sierra

I've recently updated to macOS Sierra (public version) and everything seems fine, except for allowing to Siri. I tried to enable the system preferences as well as execution of the Siri application in the application. I even tried to 'facilitation' by selecting in the menu bar.

  • Black MacBook does not start

I have a 10 year old black Macbook, which does not start when a battery is installed.  If it is connected without battery installed, it lights up, but if there is a battery in it, even if it is plugged in, it will get the startup sound and the screen of the Apple gray, then turn off.  I got a new battery and charge it where the charger turned green, but the results are the same.

    Any suggestions?

It is difficult to say what is happening with this machine, since the time and wear are considerations. I don't know what version of the operating system that you use, but there is a sequence of things you should do - in order of severity.

Have you ever tried to force reboot the phone by holding down the button sleep and home for 10 seconds, until the Apple logo comes back again? You won't lose data.
