Hi @WWolfe01,

Thank you for your response.

10 Windows computer laptop when I go into Control Panel, click the mouse, and the first screen has the option to disable the touchpad as accessible button that you can click.  Click it and then click OK.  You will need your external mouse to reactivate before unplugging everything.

For re - turn back to the same screen and click Activate.

Good luck!

  • Satellite Pro S500 - cursor jumps randomly

I have a Satellite Pro S500. There is a problem with the keyboard. When I type (no matter if I use Word, a web browser or any other application, even if the problem seems to have been particularly serious when you type this particular message) the cursor sometimes (often) randomly climbs: it goes back a few words or it can highlight a random section of text (it also makes no difference if I use a mouse external or not or how heavy/light style typo's).

It was suggested that this may have something to do with the sensitivity of the touchpad; However, reduce its sensitivity had no effect. It is a very annoying problem and would be grateful for any advice.

    Thank you.

    Hi ap4h,

I think you touch the keyboard as you type so you must disable the touchpad tapping function. This can be done in the options of the touchpad driver.

Here's a similar thread with some screenshots how adjust/disable tapping:

This problem only occurs when text is entered into a form on site (not in the address bar). The cursor jumps randomly a letter to the left, thus making it rather impossible entry.

This is a bug that will be fixed in the RC version. If you're OK with putting on the installation from "unknown sources" in the application settings. • ex: when you try to click on the scroll bar (on a Web page) at the bottom of the page, the cursor jumps to the top of the page.
    • ex: on the desktop, I'll move the cursor over an icon, and the cursor will move to a random point on the screen and continue to move in the direction my finger, said that on a new path.
    • Sometimes, the slider works very well.
    • The problem occurs when you use any program.
    • I don't have the problem "while typing, my mouse moves and clicks on".

  • Envy dv4t Notebook: SmartPlacement on hard drive?

    Hello people,

My younger son helps people bring their computers from the dead and lonely people gave envy dv4t Notebook in question here having decided to upgrade to a newer version. He has in turn gave it to me.

I preferred App Defrag and after install and opening it, I see that the harddrve is not configured for SmartPlacement. Which is, of course, a major requirement for this application to function properly.

I open the BIOS (which has a date of 2013 of origin) and see Nothing on SmartPlacement anywhere.

Am I right in thinking, I might as well uninstall my Defrag app and just use the good old Windows Defrag?

    Thanks in advance... Mark

    God bless... Mark

    Hello new SDF15,

Do you already have an application with a unique built-in function/feature the feature simply NEED becomes (for you) is just a function which all THE systems have?

Well, even before receiving response from Raxco my dilemma and after watching again the problem, the answer has jumped off the screen of the laptop. 1, the hard drive is (logically) configured with the D:\Recovery of patitioned in car first on the disk. Then, of course, SmartPlacement, which is first reading the first partition is said that there is a problem here.

The real C:\ drive shows SmartPlacement works very well!

Once again, thank you for your patience... Mark

  • Cursor jumping while typing on Satellite A110

    Hi experts,

I have trouble with my notebook, Satellite A110, PSABOE. I took it to the dealer twice and they have not fixed. Looks like they have no idea. It is still under warranty for 2 more months. I have two problems.

Problem 1, when you type text, the cursor will move to home or somewhere few lines or paragraphs that precede. I have to be constantly looking at the other screen wise I would be strike suddenly between previous convictions. I am very careful not to touch keys other than the alphabet I want. What could be the reason? The key material Council mentions as keyboard standard 101/102-key or Microsoft natural PS/2 keyboard keyboard. I'm not sure have the right driver. A new driver solve the problem?

Problem 2: When I type a letter in outlook before you finish or press the button send, mail is send! It's worse when I'm answering e-mails from the half finished mail would go really. How can I stop this from happening?

    Your help would be appreciated

    Hello

The described problem looks like the problem that appeared on my laptop!
The same has happened on my laptop as I type. The cursor jumped from one line to the other and sometimes deleted my sentences in the word.

I looked for solutions and finally I found! Believe the or not, but it wasn't question!
I accidentally touched the touchpad as I type and I have not noticed didn t!
Try disabling the touchpad with FN + F9

If it doesn t help you can also try updating the BIOS.
In many cases, the update of the BIOS might resolve some strange behaviors for laptop.

    > The key material Council mentions as keyboard standard 101/102-key or Microsoft natural PS/2 keyboard keyboard. I'm not sure have the right driver. A new driver solve the problem?

The laptop doesn t need the keyboard driver updates! The operating system uses a clean Microsoft driver and these drivers works and are 100% compatible.

  • HP ENVY 15 Notebook PC: HP Envy 15 action keys works do not (F9, F10 and F11)

My laptop has been working fine since purchase, but last week, I noticed that action F10 F10 & F9 keys (jump, play/pause, skip) did not work for their function. Before last week I could just press the key to activate, I read other posts of this forum and the answers did not work pressing fn + alt + (key action), either by pressing fn + key action. To make this work I need to access the bios screen and change the default values, but it only works when the laptop is on. If I turn the laptop, turn again he resorts right back to does not. Action all other keys work e.g. keyboard backlight, volume, brightness, etc.

    Any solutions would be welcome.

    Thank you.

    Hello @Spudy96,

Thank you for your quick response!

You can try to perform a System Restore.  If this does not work, then you could also try to install the previous version of the BIOS of your Support Site.  Let me know how it goes.

    Good luck!

  • When you type, the cursor jumps around. How can I correct this situation?

When you type, the cursor jumps around.  How can I correct this situation?

It is a very common problem when users become familiar with a new laptop. Either your palm/wrist/cuff/bracelet is touching the touchpad as you type or the touch pad sensitivity is set too high and reacts to strong strikes.
    • Someone to watch you while you type to see if you accidentally touch touchpad of the notebook.
    • Go to the control panel mouse configuration and reduce the sensitivity of the touchpad.
    • Make sure you use the latest version of the driver from the manufacturer of the laptop for the touchpad and update if a new becomes available.
    • Disable the touchpad entirely in favor of a wireless laptop mouse.
As noted previously, this is a very common problem and users are usually completely unaware they do even when it is pointed out to them.
  • cursor jumps around Pavilion dv6

I have HP Pavilion dv6 notebook.

My OS is Windows 7 64 bit

I have problems with the cursor jumping around while I type.  I've had the laptop over a year, but this problem started a few weeks ago.

Can you help me with a solution?  I'm not very technical, but it can follow the detailed instructions.

Thanks - this is a very frustrating issue!  It's the jump that I try to get this typed!

    Hello

First, download the Setup driver Synaptics following on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp46501-47000/sp46509.exe

Then, open windows control panel, open programs and features, right click on the entry "Synaptics Pointing Device Driver" and choose uninstall.

    Once done, restart the laptop.

When windows has completely recharged, open your download folder, click with the right button on the setup of Synaptics and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once done, restart the laptop.

    Kind regards

  • Cursor jump - is NOT a problem of keyboard!

Windows 8. My mouse jumps at the beginning of almost all fields of text every few seconds. Note that this is not random jumping - the cursor jumps only at the beginning of the field. I say "almost all" because this forum post is the first I've found where it does not. The problem never happens offline programs, the toolbar or login form fields. Only the fields of text in Firefox. Cannot duplicate in Chrome. I was typing stuff in my word processor and then copy and paste to get anything done on my blog or email. Restarted my computer, and then uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox. No improvement. I tested and is not remotely to a keyboard problem, such as cursor more jump.

See what is happening in Firefox Safe Mode.

  • Qosmio G20: cursor jumps typing the letter

Hi everyone, my Qosmio G20 gives me headaches! When I try to type a letter or article suddenly the cursor jumps back lines and I find myself typing in the middle of a previous sentence. Then sometimes it just deletes a paragraph I just typed.
Any suggestions as to why? And more importantly on how to behave?
I would be happy to advice.

    Thank you.
    Ronnie

Yes, it's because of the touchpad. To disable and enter in peace, just press Fn + F9. This will temporarily disable the touchpad. When you are finished typing, press Fn + F9 again, it will re-enable the touchpad.
    Later,.
