HP Envy 15 Windows 7 Professional clean install Driver questions

This morning, I did a clean install of Windows 7 on my brand new envy 15 (LW897AV), which includes the deletion of backup partition as the partition driver HP.

Unfortunately, many drivers not installed, and I can't find a way to find them. This includes Beats audio driver (I have the audio control panel, but it is not connected to the button on the side volume control) as well as the microphone and some drivers that appear in the devices Panel but the diagnosis is not able to find.

Is there a way to fix this now, or should I cave and pay the $20 and get a recovery CD?

Get it up to 3 Intel Chipset Installation Utility drivers missing... What the devil. I'll get the restore CD. Guess that's what I'm trying to be creative with my software. :/

  • Windows 8.1 clean install with key OEM of Windows 8

Hello! I have a HP Probook 450 with Windows preinstalled 8. I want to Win 8.1, but I want to do a clean install. Which means: insert the Win DVD 8.1 (I downloaded the .iso on internet image file), formatting of the disc and the last 8.1 Windows installation.

Will this work? I read that my key Win 8 OEM, which is hardcoded in the BIOS does not allow me to install Win 8.1. Users of the Forum say here and now that it is possible to perform a clean installation to win 8. How is with Win 8.1?

I did it.  It is possible with elitebook turn...

    You will need:

    1. ISO 8.1 Windows

    2. the default Installation 8.1 Windows key (http://pastebin.com/Cs9GUhyT)<---If this="" link="" is="" gone,="" you="" can="" find="" it="" using="">

    3. your OEM of Windows 8 key (you can use the Belarc Advisor software to find, http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html. ) You can also use the Microsoft Toolkit which can enter this information for you as well)

4 USB with at least 8 GB. (You can use a micro SD card, but it will be SLOW)

    5. Creator of YUMI (pendrivelinux.com)

My instructions are summarized by several forum posts (one source for more details http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/48434-Windows-8-1-Clean-Install-Guide). So this point begins after you have recovered your win8 OEM key.

    Instructions

    1. you need to Download the ISO of Windows 8.1 (can be done in several ways.  If you have a key to Win8 retail, which will make life easier, otherwise look for online sources) http://howto.cnet.com/8301-11310_39-57608376-285/how-to-download-the-official-microsoft-windows-8.1-iso/.

[Basically, download the windows installation 8 get started, then cancel immediately and download the windows installation 8.1.]  This is the way to circumvent the application of key windows 8.1]

    (2. After downloading the ISO, use YUMI usb creator and create a USB bootable with windows ISO 8.1).  I had problems with the boot from USB, it seems that there is a lack of design, but maybe just mine.  Let me know if you can start.  If you can not, you will need to remove the USB (1-3 mm) SLIGHTLY.  Basically, my USB does not get to bottom to start.

3 install windows using keys to default installation 8.1.  Your OEM key will not work.  This key is only for the installation, but you will need your OEM win8 for activation key after the installation of windows.

    4. when everything is installed, go to the activation of windows , or press win + break (you may need to use a function key (fn)).  Change your product key of entering your key OEM win8.

    5. I suggest that if your laptop has softpaq Installer to your computer's drivers, install first.  Then, you can select software and drivers you want to install and do everything at once without having to download one at a time.

    6 finishing

Let me know if you have any problems, I can walk you through it I took two days to finally understand.  I hated doing windows 8, all updates, and then update windows 8.1.

I also recommend you only install tasks easeus backup.  You can install all your drivers and programs and then use this program to create a disk image.  My disk image is about 20 GB which is located on a secondary partition (so if your SSD crashes, it's all over well), for fast food.  It takes about 20 minutes for the backup.  Then 20 minutes to restore the disk image I think fast enough.

I suggest that you run the diagnostic tool Microsoft Genuine Advantage in normal mode and copy and paste the results into a response for further analysis:

    Hello

The only FULL of Windows 8 Pro version would be the OEM System Builder... everything else is an upgrade...

Unlike Win 7 and earlier versions, Microsoft is not offering one COMPLETE Win 8 other than OEM package...

The difference is that the OEM version has no support from Microsoft... If you have a problem, you are on your own... Just enjoy the Forums and for any issues that arise...

Providing that there are drivers available for your laptop to win 8, it should work...

  • Windows on Mac - clean install disadvantages and benefits vs Bootcamp?

    Hi people,

I recently got my first Mac - one Macbook 2016. I tried on El Capitan, and I still much prefer Windows, I'm looking to install on Mac.

I've read through bootcamp for double installation, but largely, I would prefer to perform a new installation on Windows (I have a copy of Windows 8.1 Pro with a license key). I can't determine whether or not it is recommended and I would appreciate it if someone could clarify it for me.

    My understanding is that: -.

    (1) it is possible to completely remove OSX and have a clean install of Windows.

    (2) OSX (in my case, El Capitan) can be reinstalled at a later date without extra cost (i.e. free) using the OSX installer.

    (3) install or remove Windows OSX will not affect my warranty the warranty is of Apple hardware.

One of the main concerns seems to be none using Bootcamp means pilots Apple for Windows will not automatically available. I heard some mention that these drivers may actually now be downloaded separately on the Apple site and installed directly on the machine once Windows is in place. Can someone confirm this please?

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope can get definitive information and I can move on Windows soon.

You are right. You can remove OS X and only keep the windows, but it has some disadvantages, to know before doing this. Apart from this, Internet recovery will let you install OS X at any time even if you have deleted the recovery partition, and you will not have to pay for OS x: OS X is free and is already registered for your Apple ID.

Drivers, Boot Camp Assistant (an application, you can find in/Applications/Utilities) leads you through the first steps before you install Windows on your Mac, and one of them is to download the drivers for your Mac requires and put them in a USB key. However, you may need to OS X to get latest driver versions.

Instead of completely removing the OS X, I suggest to allocate more space to Windows, but keep OS X in a small partition. By doing this, you will always be able to update the drivers (where you need OS X to do) and you will have fewer problems getting OS X in the future if you want to delete Windows.

Finally, don't forget to make a backup of your files before you install Windows on your Mac. You may need it in case something goes wrong with the Windows installation.

  • Free Windows 7 Upgrade Clean install questions

Hi, I have recently buy a Mini 5101 it comes with XP Pro and Vista Business... I currently have Vista Business installed on it. I wonder about the process of upgrading to windows 7. On the free upgrade Web site it is said that the operating system can be upgraded to windows 7, according to the weather, I have vista (upgrade straigh) or xp (must be a stable cleaning). Now, my question is can I perform a clean installation with this upgrade? I know that normally you can perform a clean install via the insertion of the disc of the previous operating system media during installation, but as the Min 5101 is a netbook (no cd drive) I will probably install it via a USB key. It is very important for me to have a clean install.

On the upgrade Web site, it says that if you are using XP pro, you must perform a clean installation. It would be better for me to install XP now order the update, and then install Vista so that I can get the version that will allow me to perform a clean installation - or I'd get the same disc anyway?

I know the installation disc doesn't have not yet been outside and not so should know the process entirely. Kind of hope that someone will have knowledge on this subject.

The installation media will allow you to perform a clean installation 'upgrade' using product key of the current operating system during installation. This allows him to check that you are upgrading from a previous version of Windows.

  • 15 e056sl Windows 8.1 clean install

    Hello

I have the laptop in question, after the upgrade to windows 8.1 in my hard disk I found a new recovery partition (350 MB) and the recovery of old (400 MB) and EFI (260MO) partition... so I have 1 GB of unused space.

I think also is not normal that I need at least two days to re-setup my nb through the recovery dvd or partition and then upgrade to windows 8.1 by internet.

I would like to perform a new installation of Windows 8.1 but I don't know how to do this. I tried to download the ISO original Microsoft, but my product key is not accepted (with generic pk I get connection error).

I found my pk using RWEverything and tried to download the ISO with errors:

    Windows8 - Setup.exe

"This product key cannot be used to install a version of windows 8.

    WindowsSetupBox.exe

This product key failed. Please check it and try again

    Can you help me please?

Sorry, but the DPK 8 (digital product key) Windows built into your computer won't work for a clean install of Windows 8.1 more, perform a new installation will result in a computer that has no customizations HP, no software to value added HP and not pre-installed drivers.

The only way to do a clean install of 8.1 of Windows on your computer is to buy a new copy of Windows 8.1

  • Acer Aspire V3 - 772 Windows 8.1 clean install

So I've upgraded to windows 10... It worked fine and I decided to use eRecovery to return to windows 8 and then update to 8.1.

After System Restore, I discovered that windows has been corrupted. (Windows worked, but I can not install updates)

So I decided to just wipe and clean installed windows 8.1, only to find out that I can install it only by using the start mode of inheritance, using the UEFI is for me the error: Windows cannot update the configuration to start the computer, the installation cannot continue. (Already tried disabling secure boot, without success). Legacy mode worked well until I went to come to re - install the drivers, that's when I noticed that some hardware has not been detected, my gpu nVidia for example.

Any help is appreciated. (Please... I am so frustrated now.)

And Yes, I configured an another usb to fully support UEFI boot, without success.

After using "own diskpart" on your main hard drive... Press and hold the power button on your computer to shut down your computer.  Wait about 20 seconds.  Then turn on again.  Install windows as directed in step 8.

  • I can't activate Windows 7 after cleaning installed.

Activation of Windows 7 (upgrade) after clean reinstall

    Hi guys,.

I have the problem with the Windows 7 upgrade version. I was with WIn 7 months with no problems. Win7 was installed on windows Vista in my case.
But a few days ago, I decided to do a clean reinstall (from scratch, formatted HARD drive).

The installation was funny until I got the error message telling me that my key is not for the clean install and I can't activate the system. I just left the empty key field and open windows.

I thought that I activate the system in 'normal' mode not during the installation. So I now fully installed Windows 7 and I can't activate it - because the installation was made not M$ ' mroper way "." Very funny so the "right way" is to install windows Vista and upgrade to windows 7?

The system has been enabled on this PC (the same harware 100%) before, so I can't do this again? I can not show same Vista installation CD, etc. installation key?

Is there another way to activate it?

    Thank you

  • How to remove the upgrade Windows 7 Professional of D:-drive?

I bought Windows 7 Professional Upgrade from Windows Vista Home Basic. HUGE MISTAKE! On the Microsoft Store is a nightmare. Finally, I just received a refund. Now, how do the Windows 7 on my D drive where is where idiots to the Microsoft sortore had me download in the first place. now I have vista on drive c and one broke * windows 7 on drive d. HELP, apparently, not a microsoft support t know how?

If the Visa is still functions (you can load a running Vista), then install EasyBCD and follow the instuctions for EasyBCD listed below. When you are finished with the removal of Windows 7 in the boot (according to instructions) menu, then you can reformat the D: partition, which is where you said Windows 7 was installed.

    ================================================

EasyBCD - how to remove the invalid entry:
    http://NeoSmart.NET/DL.php?id=1

When you run EasyBCD, you will see the following great tabs/buttons on the left.

    (1) the display settings: displays the number of entries (bootable version valid and is no longer valid to Windows). The one marked 'default' in the version of Windows that starts if you sit and wait 30 seconds without making a selection using the keyboard. The entrance of remaining are classified by 'Name' (unless renamed all entires will call Windows 7). Drive letter represents the partition that version. If everything that you installed multiple copies of Windows 7 and Vista the path "Bootloader" will always be the same.

    (2) menu of Boot edit: four options 'Up', 'Down', 'Rename' (is very convenient if you want to see a significant name when you first start (I have 5 versions of Windows on one of my test systems, so I reamed the plain jane "Windows 7" "Windows 7 Pro 64-bit" and "Windows 7 Home Premium 32 - Bt, etc." ").)

The last option is "Delete", click on the entry of is no longer valid (for highlight), and click 'delete '.

You will also see a check mark in the "default" (when 30 timeout expires) version of Windows (vista in your case), the computer will start to place a check mark to one you want to keep.

Located at the bottom of 'edit Boot Menu' page is the time-out value, if you want automatically to your only remaining version of Windows just place a check mark in the box "Skip boot menu."

When your done with your changes, be sure to 'Save Settings'.

  • Windows 7 try continually installing driver for similar devices

My job requires me connect hundreds of devices usb on my computer one at a time.  Each peripheral is, for all the intentions, the exact device than the previous, but Windows 7 insists on installing the drivers as if everyone is different.  Devices, Motorola two way radios are mounted as network cards.  Currently, my computer tells me that every new device is "NIC 52 (x).  How to stop the nonsense?

    Hi bejou101,

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

Please check hardware id's of similar devices works and does not:

Right-click on the device, select properties and then click the Details tab.

Select the hardware id, and it notes:

    PCI\VEN_ * C & DEV_ * & SUBSYS_ * & REV_ *.

If they are different in similar features so you must modify the INF of the work instrument and change his VID Section:

    Example:

    [*********. NTamd64.6.0]
    ; DisplayName Section DeviceID
    ; ----------- ------- --------
    % * % = *, PCI\VEN_ * C & DEV_ * & SUBSYS_ * & REV_ *.

Note This may be slightly different in your inf file, just change the VID.

Change the original inf file, save under a new name, uninstall the device from Device Manager, right-click on the computer icon in the Device Manager and select "Scan for hardware changes".

    Response.
