HP Envy 15t: the resolution on the external display support

I want to put my HP Envy 15t to drive an external, not as an extension monitor, but rather as my first monitor.  My external monitor is a Viewsonic VX2250, a bit older and I use an HDMI adapter / VGA.  (The Viewsonic also has DVI inputs... not sure it would make a difference.)  On my current tour, I use the monitor in its recommended (or native mode) 1920 x 1080 definition.  I love this screen.

The adapter is a Bytecc HM-VGA005 and specs seem to indicate that it can handle a variety of video resolutions - Full HD (1080 p), WUXGA (1920 x 1200 mode RB) and UXGA (1600 x 1200-mode VESA).

15 t is currently shooting in the recommended 1366 x 768 resolution.  If I understand the straight plug, in HD mode it is 1366 x 768 and FHD mode is 1920 x 1080.   The graphics card is an Intel Graphics HD 4600.  Is this the reason why I can't get a HD resolution and not FHD resolution on the laptop?

But whenever I plug all this together and try and change the settings for screen for laptop, the external screen resolution is only 1024 x 768... pretty ugly.  I have it so that the laptop screen is dark and only the external monitor is on.  But it doesn't seem to be any choice I can do to improve this resolution.  I checked that the graphics driver is up to date and it is.

What should I do to get the best screen I can on the external monitor?  Would like to buy a new monitor HDMI inputs get better results?  Do I need a different adapter?

Thank you... Kurt

Me again!  Well, it was a bit the nut behind the wheel.  I checked with the store that I've been buying my cables, adapters, etc.  He said to the Viewsonic monitor to see what might happen.  As I was put in place, he asked on the power adapter.  I got the USB cable but do not think it was necessary.  But after putting everything together in addition to feeding the HDMI adapter / VGA, I could see, I was getting the resolution I hoped.  Why it worked on the monitor Dell, no idea... maybe a better monitor or other VGA cable.  The Bytecc adpater didn't come with instructions, so I didn't.

All right.  Hope this helps someone in the future.

    Hello

I tried to connect two different displays full HD to my Portege Z30 - A - 18 M and I was unable to set the native resolution - maximum resolution I can put for those is 1680 x 1050... I was not so surprised by the first that I had a few problems with a native resolution when I connect to the laptop computer Satellite I had before. But then the same thing happened when I tried the other view.

I thought that this notebook can handle a higher resolution external... Is there a way to force the native resolution of the external display in Windows 7?
    Thank you!

Just a question: have you plugged your Portege with HDMI cable and use only the HDMI option?

I don't have this machine, but I think you should be able to see the desktop on an external device to the HD full 1920 x 1080 resolution.

If any value for us, nor spec search what resolution your iMac will rely on a screen outside and who will give you your answer. This info is on the specification system for YOUR iMac. You will need to match that spec with the resolutions your external display supports.

  • Switching the external display to MBP screen retina, poor quality, need to restart FF19.0.2

Here is the chronology of the events:

    (1) FF start on my MBP (OS 10.8.2) and the retina display working properly.

    (2) connect my MBP to a 24 "external display which has a resolution of 1920 x 1200 (defined as primary) max. FF displays well on screen.

    (3) disconnect the external display and FF is now pixel on retina MBP. Updating of system preferences Dispay doesn't seem to help, or I have not found the magic technique.

    (4) restart FF and everything is fine.

The question seems so FF not to recognize the need to revisit the resolution of the retina.

  • Portege R700 with docking station may not automatically switch to the external display

    Hello!

In the past, we bought a lot of A600, R500, S10, and always a docking station for every laptop here at Desjardins, we bought.

Now we have a little problem with the new R700 model: PT318C - 00G 001,
    We bought 30 of them.

WHY when we put in the tie-down (with the nearby screen) it can display automatically to the external display no/switch? (in this case a 22inc LCD)
It is connect with the HDMI/DVI cable. And when we get the display by sliding in the graph of intel and media panel (V 6.14.10.5258), after a reboot of the docking, the screen is all buzzy... sometimes both screen are dark, and we must use a combination of keys to move.
It's really not easy to use for our users...

With the old model as the A600 or S10, all have always worked well, if we are on the dock, the pop screen directly on the external LCD, so I stopped him, ondock it and start up of all is well on the screen of the laptop.

We are on Windows XP Pro SP3.

I tried the utility Toshiba display device change and expansion Mobile from Toshiba. are not clear...

    Thanks for your help.

Have you installed a version of vanilla from Windows? Or XP has been installed from the Toshiba Recovery Disc?
Maybe you are missing several key structural factors (common modules for example). Also make sure that you use the drivers to display on the Toshiba site.

Also try a BIOS update (v1.70 is the last one I think).

    @J.Verberk
Sounds you're a newbie and you're talking nonsence
You comment is simply not qualified.

    @Hein
You said that you have installed you mobile again. Did you use the Tosh recovery CD?
If this isn't the case, I think this might be a reason for the FN key anomaly.
After recovery use the laptop must switch with FN + F5 external peripheral connected to the laptop.

  • Tecra S2 cannot switch to the external display

With my Tecra S2 and when it is docked in the Port Replicator APR - III, I used to be able to connect my external (via DVI) display so that it was to automatically screen output to we by default, not only to the windows startup screen (Yes, I noticed the topic on the forum at the start of windows) but also when display login screen and beyond.

Only problem now is that there is no more than anything, she now only sends the output to the external display when starting and then switches back to the computer screen displaying the screen Windows login and when you are connected to Windows.
Also after commissioning and connection, FN + F5 does not at all, even when you switch to DVI, display does not illuminate.

I feel that either the nVidia properties settings (double screen, unique, etc.) or the Mobile Extension Manager have something to do with it.
Anyone who knows the answer / solution to this problem?
Experts on the Mobile Extension Manager or several monitor in nVidia settings with of Toshiba Tecra?

    Thank you

    Hello

Well, as I know it is not possible to set the external monitor as a default monitor.
I use a Satellite phone and sometimes I plug it into the external monitor and use the extended desktop option.
During notebook startup procedure the windows boot image will appear on the second screen, but the user name and the operating system appears on the screen of the laptop.
I think you can use the external monitor but you can't set it as a default monitor and you can use it if the operating system has been released.

  • HP Split: Port HP Split HTMI spoiled, any other way to connect to the external display

HTMI HP Split connector seems weak and unable to detect the external display. Troubleshooted HTMI and HTMI port to the monitor cable to be ok. May need another way to connect to the screen, otherwise repair port (don't know not so easy to fix). Enjoy the century lights.

2 way possible. There is such a thing as a usb adapter to HDMI.

USB 3.0 models provide a very good experience. Also if your laptop has the right hardware (Intel processor and wifi card, usually) you can use WiDi (Wireless Display), but unless you connect to a Smart TV with built-in WiDi you need a WiDi adapter.

  • Tecra A9-14 X - unable to use the native resolution on the external display

    Hello!

I have some problems with my new monitor (resolution: 1920 x 1080)

    I use a Toshiba Tecra A9-14 X.

I found this problem on the Suppor Intel home page: http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/cs-028366.htm

They have fixed this problem, but this isn't availlabe an update on Thosiba Support site...

    Ist it there another Solution?

    welcome them

    Hello

You can consult the page of the Toshiba driver for the latest updates.
If there is not another version of the driver, then you must use the driver from the Intel page.

I have a U400 and I plugged the external format 16:9 widescreen monitor too.
I m using Intel page drivers and it works without problems.

  • Satellite A-L50-1CU - need info on the resolution of the external display

    Hello world

It seems an obvious questions, but... could you please tell me exactly the maximum resolution and Hz for the external monitor plugs on this model?
I need to buy a hi res ips monitor for the edition of photography, and I don't want to pay a lot for something useless...
    Thank you very much
    Marco

BTW, in the standard memory configuration, can I free memory locations? Or I need to remove the standard memory, substituting it with 2x8GB?

I don't have this model of laptop, but if it has video HDMI port means that your laptop can offer excellent output video in HD quality.
In my opinion, you should speak with your local dealer and explain the situation so I hope it can help you choose the best monitor for you. I can also imagine you can take your laptop with you and test it before you buy it.

According to specification for portable computer, your computer can be upgraded up to 32 GB (4 memory locations).
To upgrade RAM, you can use the memory modules to follow:
    2GB DDR3L - 1600 - PA5104U-1M2G
    4 GB DDR3L-1600-PA5104U-1M4G
    8 GB DDR3L-1600-PA5104U-1M8G

  • System hangs on the external display connection

I just bought a MacBook Pro 13 "mid 2012 version because I travel a lot." I do a lot of coding on my main PC. I didn't mind having a smaller screen and the retina no since I had to plug my monitor 27 "HD for the majority of my work. This is the problem...

Two things happen when I try to connect it via Apple's Thunderbolt at the VGA connector. Or the other

    1. the external screen but the MBP 2012 (1200 x 800) native resolution and I can't change it at all

    or

    2. all of the gray system out and crashes and the second monitor turns off say there is no entry. Then I pressed the power button to turn off completely it.

Nothing wrong with the display or the adapter I tested them both on another laptop that my wife and my main development office (two PCs). I guess that something is wrong with the MacBook or the underlying software. I'm running El Capitan and the MBP is maxed out in RAM and a 500 GB SSD. I tried a lot of things I've seen online already, but none of them worked. Is this what can I do to get the 2nd screen to work on its 1920 x 1080 resolution?

  • MacBook - problems to connect the external display w

I do a lot of presentations (Keynote) to Mac external displays at events.

The new MacBook (12 ") is quite often problems, so I have to carry a MacBookAir as back-up in case where.

Problems can be no image at all, or two images (like 70% Keynote + 30% of office) and with spikes.

It doesn't matter if I use HDMI or VGA. And Yes, I know how to set the resolution in the workplace sometimes that the problem is solved by adjusting the resolution manually, but then the Macbook can jump to the resolution which does not by itself during the slide show...

I think that the problem only occurs when I have to go through a device such as a split, or when there is a lot of tech back stage.

Anyone having problems of this kind with the MacBook?

Any ideas on what is wrong and how to fix?

  • M200 & Multidock II the external display orientaion is upside in tablet mode

With the Portege M200 and II Mutidock I wanted to log in and use an external monitor, so I could use the M200 to draw/write on Tablet mode everything glancing outside, but little matter I try in screen orientation, one of the screens is backwards is not usable.
It's a feature announced, so I expect there's a way to guide the tablet screen a way while still getting the external monitor to display vertical position?
    Thank you

    Hello

The resolution of this problem is actually very simple. Go to display properties. Then click on the last tab on the right, and then click Advanced. Change the settings for the "second monitor" to "extend my Windows desktop on this monitor. This should fix the problem of the display 2nd upside down. Have a great day.
