  • HP 15 laptop computer omen: Question of graphics - freeze/lock

I have problems with my graphics I think. I don't know if this is a hardware or a software issue, however.

Symptom: When I start a game the computer crashes and there's a hum. The sound almost sounds like it comes from the material rather than the sound. Although this doesn't happen every time. CTRL-ALT-DEL does not work when this happens. By pushing the button window does not work. The only way to get out the gel is hard boot the PC. This happened there as well after a game about 3 weeks session. I restored the computer to factory default and it worked fine until the 10/30/15. I would say the 1st time it happened was on 01/10/15. So a month elapsed before this happens again. Both times it happened after a long gaming session. I closed my laptop, went to another House and then when I tried to play again that this freezing/hum which is spent. This time I was unable to solve the problem.

I play the games or you have tried: Hearthstone, WOW, heroes of the storm, Starcraft II and Diablo III, Skyrim. All seem to have this problem now.

    Things I've done.

Restored PC to factory default. (Windows updates, installed updates HP installed, updated graphics card)

    Uninstalled and reinstalled graphics card

Restore PC to factory default (Windows updates installed, graphics card updates) - I remember when I first bought the PC. I installed HP updates through HP support Manager. It messed up the graphics. I have restored and it has worked well up until the 10/01/15. So I thought that maybe I messed up it by doing this. What is interesting is now after I restored my PC for the third time. HP can't find no updates. Maybe they stayed settled now?

Graphics card runs at 70 C (used Unigine & Unigine Valley) Ran this several times with no problem. This blows my mind. Why would this work but not games.

Peformance HP advisor no longer works. I uninstalled it and re-installed. Seems to be the slightest error out when he's looking for the graphics card.

To be honest. It seems to deteriorate, and even worse plus I have restore and try the different troubleshooting steps. Nothing is really make sense logically here. I have difficulty computers for a living but seriously this thing gives me a hell of a time.

I'm kind similarly not sure what more can be done.

It seems that the Nvidia GTX860M is having issues. When I right click and go to the Nvidia Control Panel. There is not much information at this location, as it used to be. The only option I have is 3D settings. It even after the Nations United-stable and re - install.

Any thoughts on where I should go with this? This PC is still under warranty and I year 3 help plan. Thanks in advance. I'm happy to give you any additional information. This thing is just blow my mind! Thank you!

After tons and tons of troubleshooting I finally thought to it. I was on the phone with HP when I thought about it. They kept transfer me back and forth between the Department of hardware and software. They have not really help a lot.

Just in case anyone else has this same problem.

    Laptop HP Omen 15 - Windows 8.1

Symptom: Chart question - freezing/locking up when you play ANY game and when you launch HP performance Advisor.

Solution: Uninstall Nvidia Graphics Card and Nvidia Ge Force experience. Also everything that said Nvidia in your Add/Remove Programs Control Panel.

Go to HP and download the Nvidia graphic card on there website to your PC. Do NOT install the driver of Nvidia graphics from the site Web of Nvidia card.

NVIDIA is currently on 352 or something like that. I downloaded 348 or anything that was on the HP website. Everything works find now. NVIDIA has missed something there put the driver.

Of NVIDIA Geforce experience will NOT work. What is the best so good solution? Playing games or using the Geforce experience.

Hope this helps anyone who runs into this problem.

  • Computer freezing/locking up

    Dell d610 laptop

Computer is freezing/locking up when to stop...

Sometimes it will freeze when... Only way to restart is to push the power button to force it to close, and then restart...

You probably have a task or a software that does not... We really need to know

which program is causing the problem (maybe the event viewer would be a start), otherwise

a solution would be, go in run, type: regedit in regedit, expand: HKEY_LOCAL_USER\ControlPanel

Open Desktop, locate & L.click on AutoEndTasks go to edit, change, change from 0 to 1

    Close regedit.

  • Envy 17 3D freezes after activating the vitualization material

After enabling hardware virtualization in the BIOS, my Envy 17 3D freezes trying to wake up after being in mode 'sleep'.  The hard disk starts and the keyboard lights up but nothing happens.  The screen stays black and the keyboard does not respond.  The only way out is a hard stop.    If I disable the hardware virtualization in the BIOS, everything is OK and the envy out of sleep normally.  This behavior is consistent and reproducible depending if the hardware virtualization is enabled or disabled.  Technical support said that there is a known issue of pro Win 7 and directed me to Google search for "Win 7 pro xp mode freezes from sleep mode.  These results do not seem to adapt to my situation.  If I am right in Win7 or xp mode without even installing xp mode, the computer crashes when hardware virtualization is enabled.  It is a new system with no other software installed.  This is actually my 2nd desire - the first was returned (by recommendation of tech support) for the same problem - they thought then it could be a hardware problem.  But now a 2nd one with the same problem?

    Any thoughts?  Suggestions?

Anyone running with hardware virtualization enabled?

    Thank you

Thank you for the ear!  Yes, the upgrade to e.16 solved the problem.  The laptop also has the problem of wifi, so I'll try this suggestion as well.  The final test is to see if I can up Hyper-V and running.

It is amazing that I would have gone through a new series of sending the laptop for repair if it wasn't for this forum.  I spoke with my case manager, who said that the fix was not released until August 9, and that's why my laptop has not been successfully upgraded during its repair.  Lame!

My sincere thanks to all who have posted!

  • Form data submit freeze/lock

I have a form where he gets the date each time you open the pdf file and place it in a form of text field I created. I also have a send form button it so users can send the request form for me.

The only thing is that I have the submission in PDF form, so once I have the time to open the form changes the date each time that I opened it not whent it submitted by the user.

Is it possible to freeze, lock, or print permanently the data the user filled in each form field to the pdf document when he clicks on submit? Is this possible via Java?

Note: I like to keep a pdf file

  • Envy 15 video freezing, BSOD

Been responsible for research forums, but it seems that I am quite alone on this one (which seems very strange).

I have reinstalled my desire with an OEM of W7 Pro version, used all the drivers on the HP support site
and I suffer from random blocks where the screen freezes or go black.

If I leave W7 Aero active never locks up on me, instead of this, he'll just BSOD on me regarding the ATIkmdag.sys

It will also crash a lot more frequently.

With disable Aero W7, it is much more stable, but it usually happens when switching from windows or watch a video

(youtube, etc). I thought that perhaps it would be heat even if fans ever spent in a hurry so I tested a FurMark

burn in test and it worked very well for 15 minutes with the GPU fan at full speed.

    Any ideas?

  • HP ENVY 700-149 freezing several times (graphics card problem)

Hi, I bought a HP ENVY 700-149 days ago and right out of the box it freezes several times every 10-15 minutes that it is in use.

Indeed, it appears a little error box in the corner that says:
"Display driver stopped responding and has recovered. NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver display driver, Version 311.41 stopped responding and has successfully recovered. »

Sometimes this box appears several times in a row (quickly) and the computer continues to operate, but more often it pops up this message and then the computer freezes and must be stopped and restarted manually.

In addition, it will crash occasionally to the 'blue' Windows screen with the message: "UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP" and the specific problem refers to "nvlddmkm.sys" which I googled and it has to do with the Nvidia graphics card as well.  The installed (from the factory) graphics card is a NVIDIA GeForce GT 635 with 2 GB memory DDR3 dedicated.

I installed all the updates that are available for Windows 8 and have checked the Web of NVIDIA website for updates for the driver but nothing is available and the problem persists.

Can I do to solve this problem?

    Hello

Your PC is under warranty. Not to be with an intermittent problem with a new PC.

HP support number is 800-474-6836 or 800-HPINVENT or online here.

HP has a 21 day return policy.  After that, it's a warranty issue.

  • HP Envy 6-1210sw freezes

    Dear team,

I recently bought a computer HP Envy of the ultrabook 6-1210sw, which I am very satisfied.

What is annoing me however, are frequent, very short (0.5-1 sec) freezes. The operating system I use is Windows 8 64-bit pre-installed. The sound, as well as the video hangs for a little while, after that is quite normal. I noticed that behavior both on demanding 3d games (Far Cry, Max Payne 3), as well as ordinary playback of Youtube.

I wonder if that has something to do with the built-in the Radeon HD8750 graphics card, as I noticed that discrete graphics cards are often the cause of some problems of HP laptops.

I'll be very grateful for any assistance regarding the foregoing.

    Please come back to me

It's a good point you raise. First of all, I want to you should check to make sure that the correct drivers are up-to-date, in case you have not already verified it that.

Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver version 11.5.12.1002

    Version of the BIOS F.23

Of course, it is less invasive step so you have already checked that. Let me know if you have. I looked at the Intel Control Center, but I'll have to do more research. It doesn't seem to be a lot of options really, immediately or to off. I'll look into it more, however. I would like to know how the update of the driver. I hope this information helps!

  • Reading video freezing/locking up during playback of files on the DISC to the PC, but NOT playing of EXTERNAL DRIVE!

Engineering please help me to solve my problem of video playback.

Machine: 3 years, HP PAVILION 1050ex g6, came with WIN 7 Home Premium (occasionally there was problem), now I changed to WIN 7 Ultimate SP1 (Now problem Regularly).

System: Intel (r) CPU of Core i5 - 2410 M 2.30 GHz, 4 GB of RAM with the 64 bit OS.

Chart: Intel(r) HD Graphics Family, (the age AMD) Radeon (TM) HD 6470 M, ATI card.

    PROBLEM:
1 during playback of the files (at the time HD & low quality) video of MY PC, it STOPS for a few seconds or minutes and resumes playback sometimes normally, once as fast shipping sometimes very slow. Repeat the same thing a few minutes. Normally I use GOM or KMP players but I have tried VLC, Windows MP, K-lite classic MP (reading of low quality, but reduces the problem bit) same problem with all the players.

    2. all streaming (watch online cricket & football) and YouTube videos play very well (even the HD 1080 p).

3 Compuetr LOCKING UP/freezing: while occasionally other programs running or opening files.

State of the system during playback:
    CPU: 14 to 20%
    RAM: 40%

    Tried solutions:
1 installed "Full of K-lite Codec pack" and "Shark", still the same problem.
2 Ran guest and SFC/SCANNOW. not solved the problem.
    3. start in SAFEMODE, still the same problem.
    4. checked the EVENT VIEWER error are not.
    5. all drivers are up to DATE, (checked in Device Manager).
    6. Update Windows.
    7. unwanted applications that run in the background are all arrested through "MSCONFIG".

    PROBLEM SOLVED, Temp orarily.
    1. WHILE PLAYING THE SAME EXTERNAL DISK FILE. (SAME FILES ON MY PC ARE COPIED TO THE EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE (OR USB) AND PLAYED BY KMP & GOM PLAYER WITH WINDOWS IN NORMAL MODE, K-LITE SHARK & HAS BEEN UNINSTALLED, A FLUID, NO PROBLEM READING)

Add info. : INTERNAL (PC) HARD DRIVE (500 GB), TOSHIBA, and TOSHIBA (1000 GB) EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE.

    Hard drive Test performed:
    1. right click "MY COMPUTER" 'Properties', 'Tools', 'Check now' restarts & "defragment now". The problem is not fixed.
    2 Ran invites and ' CHKDSK/C' & ' CHKDSK/F' The problem is not fixed.
3 installed HP System Diagnostics UEFI & tried every test HARDWARE as subsequence-test, test drive... all tests are PASSED, but the problem not fixed.

(My) Conclusion: Taking into account these 3 successful hard drive tests no sense of the evolution of the right of the hard drive? But I don't know is there any other test for hard drive or not. (noise of normal hard drive while the system is running & files more voluminous (PDF & MS Office) are open very quickly (by selecting multiple files & open together).)
I took this as a CHALLENGE. A genius of the solution? Thanks in advance.

    Hello Rizwan,

Thanks for the reply with the status of the issue and the required information on the subject.

For more clarity on this issue, I would like to know the following information:

    1. When you stop playing video files of the computer disk, did it give any error message?

    2. did you of recent changes to the computer before this problem?

Method 1: First try to reduce the hardware acceleration on the graphics card and check if it works very well.

    1. click on Start .

    2. click on Panel.

    3. click on appearance and personalization.

    4. click on customization.

    5. click on display settings.

    6. click on avancΘs.

    7. click on the tab troubleshooting.

    8. click on change settings.

    9. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or provide confirmation.

10 move the hardware acceleration slider until it is one notch to the right of None. It is the basis of acceleration.

    11. click OK twice, and then close the window.

If the problem is resolved when you set the cursor of None or Basicgraphic hardware acceleration, contact your hardware manufacturer to find out how to get and install the latest video driver for your video card.

If you have already installed the latest video driver for your video card and that you continue to experience graphic issues with the graphics hardware acceleration set to Full cursor. However, move the graphics acceleration hardware cursor mouse a notch to the left until the issue no longer occurs.

Method 2: If the problem persists, refer to the following article.

  • Is there a solution for random freeze / lock on Aspire 5745PG?

Since we bought our 5745PG it would freeze at random - block is complete, do not respond to the mouse or keyboard, requiring a hard stop and restart.  Usually, this would happen when he was not yet in use, just sitting idle.  We went to use it and find frozen.  Occasionally, it would happen when you browse the web - gel suddenly.

I read somewhere on the web something like "uses of the image on their laptop acer has a problem that causes freezing but if you install a new copy of windows, it works very well".  So finally I had time to try Windows 8 on him and, in fact, it worked very well for a while, but then one night recently it froze again and need to reboot a hard.

[After the reboot, Windows wouldn't boot and continued into recovery mode, but the recovery still fails.]  I tried a Windows 8 "refresh" which is supposed to restore system files - still wouldn't boot.  Then I made a Windows 8 "reset" (which is basically reinstalled the operating system) and then it would boot, but now inexplicably the system fan was at full speed to 100% of the time.  So it doesn't seem that it was a success solution.]

Since then, I reinstalled a fresh copy of Windows 7, as well as the drivers available on the Acer support site (except the NVidia graphics driver, but that's another story), including the update of the BIOS 1.19 and cela worked a few days before freezing once more!

Anyway, long story short: there at - it a cure for freezing randomly?  Did I just get a "lemon"?  I guess it was my mistake not to return or get a warranty service.  Any clues out there?

Well try a reload Using the the ALT + F10 on boot and executed through option 1. Make sure you have a backup of the files before going through this.

  • When you transmit freezing/locking up or does not.

Remember - this is a public forum so never post private information such as numbers of mail or telephone!

    Ideas:

    • My laptop keeps Freezin', lock up or not responding is not for no reason. It can happen all at once or he'll wait a day or 2 and then it just hangs. I tried control alt delte, who does not start it upward. I end up having to restart. I ran error primary drive, no error detected. No changes made recently. Once I reboot the pc works find until it crashes again.

This option will be placed on the Services tab on the system setup program, here is an example: click me

  • ENVY m6-1205dx freezes when moved

In may, I bought a laptop from m6-1205dx WANT, and it is so far worked very well for me. However, last week, she began almost every time that the computer is moved physically freezing - there is no error message, the system just hangs and it is necessary to manually restart using the power button to get an answer out of him. It is definitely a hardware problem - I have the same problem on 64-bit Windows 8 and Ubuntu 64-bit 13.04.  The research I did on the Internet indicate that it is probably either a bad connection in the system, a bad hard drive or a crack in the root of the hair in the motherboard. I eliminated the possibility that it is the battery - I took out the battery and ran on the current system and the error still occurred. I ran a diagnostic test fast at startup via the F2 shortcut, and it found no problems with the material, which seems to suggest that it is not a cracked disc tray - this suggests a bad mother or a bad connection. The system is still under warranty, so although I am comfortable working inside the computer, I would rather go browse around inside to see if it's something as simple as a stick of memory let go if it will void the warranty. How can I go on diagnosing this problem?

    Hello

You can certainly try remove and re-seating the memory modules - see Page 63 on the guide below.

You can also remove and re-connect the HARD drive.  As well as disconnecting from the system board, I would also suggest re-allocation of places the HDD adapter - Page 57.

    Guide to maintenance & Service-M6-1200.

Anything more invasive (ie remove the system board, etc.) would almost certainly result in the cancellation of your warranty, so my best advice if the foregoing is not to fix the problem would be to contact HP and arrange for repair under warranty.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

    Kind regards
