  I had to downgrade laptop computer CQ58 a 64 Windows 8 for Windows 7 64 client on their request. The process went very well and I managed to find all the drivers required - except one, the SM Bus controller driver, which I will have supply problems. I think that this is part of the AMD Catalyst package and I downloaded and installed the recommended package of AMD of automatic detection and this has not solved the problem. I also tried a slightly earlier version of these drivers, and it also left me with the same problem. Has anyone else faced the question and it is resolved successfully?   After recovery from an initial recovery disk, sm bus controller driver was missing and cannot be found anywhere on my PC.  I uninstalled the driver and did restart, but he was not found anywhere.  I tried to download driver for my PC Acer install from there but could not find the driver for the sm bus controller.

  I have a USB controller, who decided to uninstall itself this morning and I'm unable to get it working again. This was noted during the user's usb keyboard stops working, but the keyboard and the standard touchpad work very well. I can't get any other USB periphials to work on this computer.

  So I just ended up doing a restore system since a couple of days and I have my USB controller online.

  No idea of what was actually wrong with it.

  I tried the network troubleshooting and it failed. I've updated the network wifi drivers. I turned the button wireless on and outside. Nothing works.

  I noticed this change after a recent update of windows 10.

  Nope.

  That is probably why it is not installing.

  The driver is designed for RAID configurations.

  I know it does not install not in IDE mode, but I wasn't sure of the AHCI mode.

  If you want the latest AHCI driver for your configuration, you can get it directly from Intel on the link below.

  The first file listed.

  Download and unzip it into a folder.  Do the manual update method by going to Device Manager, and then click to expand the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers category.  Click the listed SATA AHCI controller.  Click on the driver tab, click on put up-to-date driver, reselect the thing browse and navigate to the folder that you extracted the drivers to.

  Make sure that the include subfolders is selected and should install the updated driver.

  Just look at the specifications of design on this unit - only 7mm thick (height z) readers will fit in this unit. After all, it's a thin Sleekbook!

  7mm hard drives and SSD is easily available, and virtually all 7mm 2.5 drives "will work.

• Installation of Windows 7 64 bit on hp Envy 4 t-1100

  I'm a little trouble to get Windows 7 installed on my new ultrabook (Envy 4 t-1100). I do not like windows 8 and want to continue to use Windows 7. I also installed an OCz vertex 3 240 GB SSD in my laptop as well

  Initially, I had a difficult time for the SSD to recognize in the BIOS, but after a few edits, there is a setting in the bios to enable the CSM allow the former support for older OS.

  Now I can boot from a CD with the Win7 installation CD. It gets to the point where it asks you where you want to install the operating system, but I get a message "a required cd/dvd driver is missing" I found this

  He basically said that I need to load the driver for the CD see my SSD.

  So next time, I go to HP site for the drivers and I downloaded the driver Intel rapid storage and extract to a folder. I installed this driver on USB without success. I downloaded quite a few other drivers on the HP page, but none of them does not seem to work. I'm at a loss to know which driver should I have to get the installation CD to recognize the SSD.

  The seller that I ordered this to go I was assured I could get loaded Win7 on this thing without any problem, but I've never had a difficult time just load windows.

  I managed to solve this problem and successfully installed Win 7 on this laptop.

  Once I have converted the Win 7 Iso to Bootable flash drive and started to install it I had to hit Cancel once I had "a required driver is required" message. Once canceled to go back to the main screen for the Windows installation. Disconnect the USB flash drive and plug it into another port. Then continue as usual.

  A note: I started the drive connected to a USB 3.0 port, it removed after cancelled and plugged into the other port 3.0. Who has not worked for me. For some reason, I had to switch from USB 3.0 to USB 2.0 port.

  Never seen anything like this for her but I got it working. Thanks for all the help that if!
