  I just got my laptop new HP ENVY. Name of product: m6-k025dx. It works on 64-bit Windows 8. I feel a sudden loss and frequent my Wifi connection. When it disconnects, I don't even connect it to cursor (that slides off the right side of the screen and displays the network list) by clicking on the network down button to the right of the screen. I have to restart my laptop to connect again and after 5-7 minutes, I lose again.

  I have tried many suggestions on the amendment to the Plan of power for maximum performance and uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power", but nothing seems to work.

  The network driver is Intel Centrino Wireless - N 2230. I have also updated the driver and off Bluetooth and ethernet as part of suggestions found on the web.

  I don't know if it is a problem of Windows 8 / Intel / HP. Help, please.

  From my own research, if you have an intel centrino N - 2230 network adapter and use 8 64-bit windows, you need a new driver. This adapter has connectivity wifi which are known for problems intel. Check here: http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/CS-025332.htm and then contact an HP tech via chat and they correct Web site, download and install the new driver from intel. I tried to do it myself, and it did not work. The technology did for me by online chat and remote assistance. Do it for what they tell you it's a hardware problem. It's a problem of network adapter that requires an updated driver. Let me know if it works for you.

  My son got this laptop for Christmas and immediately attempted to upgrade to 8.1 Windows and the screen went white.  I have restored the laptop after much effort and have not tried to update since... with the new update of Windows 8.1 which comes out April 8 and all the patches of HP drivers, anyone know if the upgrade process work now?

  I see that you have a question about upgrading to Windows 8.1. You should be able to update to Windows 8. 1 very well, all the drivers are available here. You can run the Wizard to upgrade to Microsoft to see if there is a conflict with your software.

  The "recovery" on his computer with preinstalled by HP is a specially constructed compressed Windows image that contains the drivers and utilities HP.  HP does not have this available for download, sorry.

  The alternative is to order the HP recovery media.  It is a DVD and CD set that will erase the hard drive (removing all data, applications and settings, reinstall the original OS, drivers and utilities for HP.  You get these by contacting HP Customer Service.

  Hi guys forum newbie here just want to ask you a few questions.

  I recently bought a second hand HP Envy 6-1006sa sleekbook and I love it.

  It was installed at that time, I bought and showed a remaining time of Windows 7 "'8.5 hours" 100% charge on 'power saving mode'. "

  I then he wiped and installed Windows 8 and I'm off the amount of time out of the battery. The maximum amount, I get right now would be 6 hours in power saving mode.

  Ultrabook is an Intel (brand) name and Sleekbook is a code name for HP (trade mark) for a lot of machines that can meet the requirements of the Ultrabook. Please see the following articles:

  I just bought a new hp envy 6-1019nr sleekbook today and I get a pop up on my screen with a square and a helping hand, with a red line through it. Then a red light to the left of the cursor on my laptop and the cursor stops working. I have tried everything to make it work again, but it won't.   I had the same problem with mine.  I'm still not sure I fixed it completely, but I found that there are two network cards installed and disabling one of them seems to help.  I found it under device manager.  I have disabled the microsoft network card.  I hope this helps.  Good luck!

  I'm working on a model of ultrabook (sleekbook) of HP Envy 4 4-1115dx for a friend. They said they tried to upgrade to Windows Update 8.1 and it has not worked since. There was a black screen with an error that says "boot device not found" hard drive (3F0). I tried everything I can find on the internet to try to address this. I ran Diagnostics of hard disk (short and long), and the order is placed. I have reset the BIOS settings by default, Secure Boot disabled, enabled Legacy Boot and I have somehow or another managed to access a screen that shows the RAID settings and I put the hard drive in non-RAID (probably an error). During all of this, I ordered a USB hp recovery and when it starts I get a warning that says "not recovery support to the title of the current configuration, please activate the acceleration for Intel Smart Response Technology option and try again." I can't find this in the BIOS anywhere (turning power of boot technology fast Intel does nothing.) Through what seems to be something that you configure in Windows leading to the top of this post. I tried all these parameters before and after changing the RAID settings. So now I have a recovery USB which does not seem to work on this work and the drive tests very well. I could shoot the SSD drive, if necessary, but I was trying to avoid that, because you have to take the whole computer part to access. Any suggestions?

  Well, I feel like a fool. I was misunderstanding the SSD as drive JUST before I realized it was both. The normal hard drive was dead. I put a new hard drive in it after removing the bottom of the laptop and the provided HP recovery USB what worked perfectly. I kept thinking there was a partition on the SSD that I didn't see or format. It was just a plain ole doesn't have a hard drive. Thank you very much for your help.

  I had problems for some time with my HP ENVY when you restart.   I have a backup Seagate more Desktop 2 TB connected via a USB hub.    When it is connected and restarting the computer, it goes to the screen to "prepare the AutoFix.   So I have to unplug and restart and that's fine.     I don't know why it continues to be.   I checked my BIOS and it should boot from the hard drive first.     Any ideas?

  Hello and thanks for the display on the HP support forums.  Using a USB hub, you get a signal from one of the disks is trying to make a repair due to a possible disconnection during a writing session.  You will need to do is a test on the external drives to see if one of them has problems.  Try to make a direct connect with each drive connected by tonight and see if they are the problem on their own.

  If one of them is causing the problem, try and use the test drive of windows.  Here is a link to help you with that.

  I didn't exactly read before updating my laptop so then there was a perfoarmance and problems evident past so I reset my computer all (not much). When it's ok to put the 8.1 update 8.1 or what I do not have the installation

  Audio beats shouldn't be a problem. Thedriver audio Intel IDT will install that.

  Cool comes to install the driver that you may be able to find in the Intel Download Center.  I ask HP why it is not present in Windows 8 driver downloads. It may have been overlooked by mistake. I'll let you know when HP answer my question on the non availability of the driver.

  A recent OS upgrade installation always has its drawbacks. It is the cost of being an early adopt. I received my ultrabook HP touchsmart 2014 ready product spectrum 13 a few days ago. It was delivered with Windows 8.1 and I really like it.
