  Try this.

  1. Select the CODEC Audio IDT high definition in Device Manager.
  2. Select the driver tab.
  3. Click on update driver... button.
  4. -> Select Browse my computer for driver software.
  5. Select-> Let pick me from a list of drivers for devices on my computer.
  6. Select high definition Audio Device (not IDT High Def... that's important...) and click Next. Displays warning message, but the answer Yes.

• HP ENVY Notebook PC m6: biometric device problem

  After I've updated for Windows 10, if I leave my active biometric device, my mouse pointer/cursor continuous flickering as if to show the system is busy.

  I'm on the latest version of the driver for my hardware. Now, I am unable to use my fingerprint as my password.

  The only way I knew to prevent this was to turn off my biometric from the Device Manager.

  So I'm more able to make use of my material, even if its there on my laptop.

  Please help me.

  HP Simple pass seems to work, but the problem is that whenever the biometrics is selected, the mouse pointer continues to flicker.

  I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about your m6 HP ENVY Notebook and questions with the Simplepass works not properly. I suggest you uninstall fingerprint driver or reinstall the version updated driver and HP SimplePass ultimate installed and reinstalled the latest version for Windows.   Installing Windows 7 on your HP ENVY computer Notebook dv7-7234nr is not supported by HP. In addition, no Windows 7 driver is listed on HP Software and Driver Downloads page for your computer.

  HP does not recommend installing Windows 7 and it will support the installation of Windows 7 on a computer comes with Windows 8. HP doesn't provide drivers for Windows 7 and the appropriate drivers are not available for the hardware in the computer. In addition, Windows 7 can not support some of the hardware or software designed for the computer.

  Make sure you create your media recovery HP or USB Flash Recovery discs before you edit or change anything.

  You will need to DISABLE 'Secure Boot' and ENABLE 'Legacy Support' in the ' settings of BIOS ' settings below page;

  

  Then, start Windows 8 and run the console 'disk management '. Using "Shrink Volume", reducing the size of the "C:" partition about half of its original size. Name of the partition "C:" to something like "Windows 8".   Install Windows 7 on the partition without label that was established earlier when you shrunk the partition "C:". Continue to install WIndows 7 by / responding to all the guests. Once you download Windows 7 on your computer, we have to track down the compatible drivers for it. Please list all the "hardware ID" for unknown or missing devices.

  If your copy of Windows was preinstalled on the computer, and then try to reinstall the driver by going in start > my computer > double-click C: > locate and double-click the folder program files > then navigate to the folder of cabins > form here, just find the audio driver and then double-click on it to launch the installer.

  However, if you are unable to locate the file so you can check your computer manufacturer's website to download and install the audio driver. :-)

Technician COMPUTER checked a bunch of stuff and thought it was "related to a driver."  Regardless of what is the cause, how do I find the problem and fix it.   Thank you

  Thanks for the comments, and I'm happy that you found.  Although I'm not surprised that an msiInstaller error could have caused a "critical stop" but I never thought that he would deliver the error never seconds.

  @JudsonWelcher:

  I suggest you also check your event viewer to find errors msiinstaller.  I've seen other posts where a sound "critical stop" appears to be linked to these errors (but like I said above, not continuous repetitions of the error).

  There is no easy way that I know to track this sort of thing.  Before you start the method of 'Clean boot' or start using the process monitor, open the sound control panel applet and scroll down to check that Windows XP stop critique.wav has not been assigned to certain events in addition (or instead of) a real stop critical Windows.
