My computer is running "Windows XP stop critique.wav" sound every 10 seconds.

My computer is running "Windows XP stop critique.wav" sound every 10 seconds for the last 8 days.  Window XP SP3.  I spent 1-1/2 hours will dell workstation support and 1-1/2 hours with my computer work (shot as a favor to my personal computer) and they find nothing, MacAfee installed, updated several full scan virus.  A ran Malwarebyte s multiple crawls - nothing.  Kaspersky lab - nothing.  Computer work ran a vrius start-up detector and nothing.  No error log is generated.  And two technicians stop various folders in the Task Manager and NOTHING he did stop.  I was sent a disc of reinstalling XP SP3 Dell and I did a repair XP complete with no fix. Technician COMPUTER checked a bunch of stuff and thought it was "related to a driver."  Regardless of what is the cause, how do I find the problem and fix it.   Thank you

@GarySibley:

Thanks for the comments, and I'm happy that you found.  Although I'm not surprised that an msiInstaller error could have caused a "critical stop" but I never thought that he would deliver the error never seconds.

@JudsonWelcher:

I suggest you also check your event viewer to find errors msiinstaller.  I've seen other posts where a sound "critical stop" appears to be linked to these errors (but like I said above, not continuous repetitions of the error).

There is no easy way that I know to track this sort of thing.  Before you start the method of 'Clean boot' or start using the process monitor, open the sound control panel applet and scroll down to check that Windows XP stop critique.wav has not been assigned to certain events in addition (or instead of) a real stop critical Windows.

  • Helps to know if my computer can run Windows 8.

I am running Windows XP Pro SP - 3 on a Dell computer that I remember precisely the age.  When I try to run the Upgrade Wizard of Windows 8, I get an error message saying that it is not a valid Win 32 application, and it will not work.  I was not able to find articles or messages by other people with this problem, so I'm at a loss to know how do I know if my computer can run Windows 8.  Any suggestions or ideas?

My computer has a coprocessor 2 GHz and 3 GB of RAM, among other things, it seems that I should be able to make the transition.  But, how can I do to determine if I can't run the upgrade wizard?  I even tried Googling this issue, which usually find anything and cannot find any reference to this problem.  Any help will be appreciated.

  • How to put Windows 7 on the new hard drive without boot cd? How will I know if 32 or 64 bits? This computer yourself running windows 10?

    * Original title: windows 7 download

I have a laptop dell M4400 with windows 7 pro OA. HARD drive crashed and I replaced with a new one. How to put Windows 7 on the new hard drive without boot cd? How will I know if 32 or 64 bits? This computer yourself running windows 10?

It has probably comes with Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.

You can download a copy of Windows 7 Professional using the following instructions (update of Microsoft recovery software supports downloads with the COA key):

How to: What are my options for Windows 7 reinstall media?

Make sure you scroll down and read the section:

What to do if you cannot get your manufacturer recovery media, refuse to use or to buy it or the Microsoft Software Recovery Website does not work?

You can also use Windows 10 too as you have the right to it as a free upgrade:

    • Turn off (preferably uninstall) your Antivirus utility before you perform the upgrade.
    • Reboot several times, and then try again.
    • Disable the general USB peripherals (for example - smart card reader).
    • If you are using a SCSI drive, make sure you have the drivers available for your storage on a thumdrive device and it is connected. During the installation of Windows 10, click on the advanced custom Option and use the command load driver to load the driver for the SCSI drive. If this does not work and the installer still fails, consider switching to an IDE based hard drive.
    • Perform a clean boot, restart, and then try again.
    • If you upgrade to the. ISO file, disconnect from the Internet during the installation, if you are connected in LAN (Ethernet) or wireless, disable both, then try to install.
    • If you are updated through Windows Update, when download reaches 100% disconnect from the LAN (Ethernet) Internet or Wi - Fi, then proceed with the installation.
    • If this does not work, try using the. ISO file to upgrade if possible.
    • If you are connected to a domain, go to a local account.
    • If you have an external equipment, attached to the machine, unplug them (example, game controllers, USB sticks, external hard drive, printers, peripherals not essential).

  • Laptop computer Lenovo running Windows 8 factory reset (damaged Sceen) while unattended.

    Good evening everyone

Could someone please help in a process that could help tracking? My Lenovo laptop running Windows 8 had been trying to run a factory reset and, unfortunately, while left unattended, my younger brother accidentally shot the cables, resulting in my now... current portable computer damaged screen. I left my laptop Lenovo intact and charged through my diet (Yes, I removed safely the internal battery) for more than 24 hours in his supposed factory reset process. I'm unable to view the entire screen and reading a part of the legend that led to believe me that my laptop is in a phase of repair? My current attempt must connect an external monitor to my Lenovo laptop and the caption "D - SUB POWER SAVING MODE" APPEARS. There may be ways to substitute this mode or could someone help please I can find myself having a restless night without solving my unfortunate situation.

    Kind regards

    Hello

  • Window 7 64 bit Ping Spike every 10 seconds

Once more, I ask this question! I tried to fix it by:
go to regedit---> FFFFF (does not work)--> still get ping spike!
Disable Ipcv 6---> still get ping spike!
some suggestions about the Wlan configuration: turn off = disconnect = cannot join the game.
Disable my antivirus, my fraps, xfire ===> still get ping spike!
My network card driver update / reinstall my driver ==> later ==> ping spike always get!
I used my old laptop (Windows xp) ===> no Pic of ping at all (using wireless)
    What should I do?

    I am playing games online!

My ping is 10-17 (normal). After that I have to play the game as 10-20 seconds, my ping will up to 1500-2500-3500-4400 within 2 seconds, then it turns to normal. It occurs every 20 seconds. Please help me

I don't want to demean my win 7 ==> win Xp.

    Hi Beckdavid,

Before solve us the problem I need more information on the issue, that you face.

-What do you mean by Ping Spike every 10 seconds?

-Do you mean are you lose internet connectivity?

-This only happens when playing online games?

-Should he behave normal when you play the game online?

-C' is comes up with a particular game or all games?

Also access the link for how to ask a question and publish the exact details of your problem.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/555375

However, if you are facing this problem only for the online game you try to purge the DNS and check if it works normally.

To clear the cache of DNS resolution, perform the following steps:

    1. Click Start.
    2. In the search box of start CMD.
    3. In the list select CMD and right-click on it and click Run as administrator.
    4. At the command prompt, type ipconfig/flushdns, and then press ENTER.
    5. Restart the computer and check that it works very well

I hope this helps. Let us know the result.

I have Windows Home Premium 64 bit

    4 GB OF RAM

    NVidia GeForce GT 320M

Thank you for your help, but I tried something else. What you suggested, it was too complicated for me :) I restored Windows 7 to the point before the problem started (which was a recent Java Update December 26) and even if he says that restoration could not be complete, it seems to be invalid the latest version of Sun Java and Windows Explorer now works as it is supposed to.

I have a new question now, if update SunJava caused my windows Explorer keep crashing how can I keep the java software to install this update again? Thanks a lot for your help.
