Hi ssgmike,

I understand that you have a problem with your keyboard repeat letters. I have included the "Wired Keyboard troubleshooting (Windows 8)" document this will lead you through various steps to troubleshoot and make sure that the settings are correct. So have you tried another keyboard?

Please let me know if that fixes the problem, thanks.

  • keyboard and particular key problem

I'm using a french keyboard and I have set up the system to use it as a default. In the last two days, I noticed that the sumblo which in french is a circumflex, that is to say the little Chinese hat appears twice when I press the button it is ^^ - it should actually do nothing until I press another letter and then it pops up above her.

The keboard french is connected via a USB port, but the laptop keyboard (which visually is a UK Council) has also done the same.

I did system restore and it works again, the problem disappeared! Thanks again to all

Why wait so long? Where this problem occurs from the beginning, it is always possible to return the laptop to your local dealer and ask for replacement.

Anyway, do last and final test. Reinstall the original recovery image and check if the problem persists. If so I think you should contact the closest service Toshiba and ask for help. Your laptop is new and its warranty valid, they will help you.

Maybe new update BIOS, if available, may help, but first try to clarify this issue with the technicians.

  • Surface of the screen keyboard and function keys

Because the on-screen keyboard on the Surface has features such as F11 keys?

    Vance Announces (thank you)!

    JJ

On my Surface Pro 3, there is a built-in program called "On-screen keyboard" that appears much smaller keyboard with all the functions. Not only the key Fn, but also of PG. PREC, PG. Next, etc.

It also can be moved on the screen easily to place it where you want.

Just go to start/find an entry "keyboard", you should find "On-screen keyboard" that you can pin to the start menu and the taskbar.

It's a little more difficult to type on because the keys are smaller, but it's really more convenient to use.

    Hi all

I just installed Windows 8 Pro and I'm starting to regret it. I spent all day trying to find a solution, and so far only to be without solution of "Dummies." I'm not a computer genius and everything I found searching on the net seems to be complex for me to understand, impossible for me to run them.

I'll be very grateful if anyone out there can be kind enough (and patient enough) to give me a step by step solution, that I can try.

  • HP Envy laptop - 15-ae011na: HP Envy - keyboard and Trackpad not working after the mode 'sleep'.

    HP Envy laptop - 15-ae011na

I have this laptop for only 1 week, he did various updates. I guess that's from Windows 8 to 8.1. He also completed an update of the BIOS with HP Support Assistant.

Question: When the awakening of my laptop mode 'sleep', my trackpad and keyboard do not work, I have unlock my PC using HP Simple pass, then press the power button to restart the machine.

Troubleshooting: I followed some advice for troubleshooting on the support page which lead me to uninstall the keyboard driver then restart my machine. I have all the latest drivers aswell.

Someone has an idea what might be causing the problem? Ideally, I'd like to do a restore or upgrade of Windows 10 immediately.

    Thank you.

Looks like this has been caused some my driver problem with Windows 8.1 and I guess that's with HP SimplePass such that it would not recognize the keyboard and the trackpad after waking up to use it.

I have upgraded to Windows 10 that looks like a solved the problem.

  • OMEN 15 J9K22UA #ABA: Fan and keyboard issues

    I'm having two problems currently:

    (1) my fan on the left is completely out some time back and I replaced it under warranty from HP.  Unfortuantly now my right fan running at a slower speed and pushes the air noticeably warmer than the fan on the left.  I use external fans as well to make sure that my computer stays cool, but I don't want to have to worry about the right side of my computer overheating.  I already have the box ready to go to send it back for warranty once again, but my school semester has started and most of my courses require me to have my own computer of the person.  Should I just ignore it until the semester ends or is there someway to fix (that I already lived the standard protocol, that support services would take me.

    (2) my keyboard light OMEN control and do not work.  My WASD keys in particular are faded compared to the rest of my keyboard, to solve this problem, I ran a number of diagnostics and then did a hard reset where I had the powerbutton while he was off and everything has been disconnected for 10 seconds.  That seems to help the problem, A is now just as bright and W and D keys are almost as bright as the rest of the keyboard, but the S key is equally bleak.  In addition control of OMEN of HP does not work at all (keys, macro, advanced options, colors, ect.).  I tried to completely reinstall the software two receipts and suggest the control panel partners itself as other pages on this forum, but that has not solved the problem.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thank you.

    Hey @Zeddiclease,

The document on the BIOS does not affect Windows and is exactly the same thing for Windows 08/07/10. The second document is a click on the left side of the Panel for Windows 10.

You can try to use theWindows Update Troubleshooter to fix updates that do not come through Windows.  Please restart the laptop twice to make sure that all updates are completed!

In Device Manager, click the arrow next to display adapters to expand the category. Right-click on the graph, and then select Update driver software if more than 1 graphic adapter do 1 at a time.
Select search automatically for updated driver software.
The laptop must find and automatically install the updated driver
Once the installation is complete, restart your laptop.

    Thank you.

  • HP ENVY x 360-15-u493cl: HP ENVY x 360-15-u493cl keyboard & Touchpad behavior (Windows 7)

    Hello

Recently, I buy a HP ENVY x 360-computer laptop 15-u493cl, which came with pre-installed Windows 10. I need to have it running Windows 7 for work related purposes. Take the help of other Members here, I was able to do a clean install of WIndows 7 on the laptop and have gotten most of the drivers successfully.

Currently, I have a problem with the laptop keyboard and touchpad. They work but are acting weird. Whenver I type, much of the time, the cursor moves elsewhere on the line or a different line. Words/lines get chosen at random.

Wanted to know if anyone has seen this behavior before and have a resolution for this. I tried to use an external keyboard and that works fine, so I know its got to be pilot releated.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hey @vbvr,

Thank you for joining the Forums HP's Support and welcome! It is a great place to ask questions, find solutions and get help from others in the community! I read your post on the Forums of HP Support.

I wanted to join you and help! I understand you downgraded the operating system on your HP ENVY x 360-15-u493cl Notebook PC 10 from Windows to Windows 7. Now, you have a problem with the keyboard and the Touchpad.

There's no drivers for Windows 7 systems and you lack some of the special features. Here is a linkso that you can understand your right to demotion (although it is said for Windows 8, it is the same for Windows 10).

Generally, if the WANT of HP x 360-15-u493cl Notebook PC does not get upgraded to Windows from another operating system and instead, 10 Windows 10 has been a new installation on the laptop, it is very difficult to return to a different operating system.

You can try to use the Microsoft Fix it tool: Microsoft provides an automatic diagnosis based on web and the claim for compensation. Go to the Microsoft Web site hardware devices do not work or are not detected in Windows (in English) and click the green run now button. Follow the on-screen instructions. If the device still does not work, proceed to the next step.

If it does not, please follow these troubleshooting steps provided:

    • Beginning
    • Search for Device Manager
    • Search results, open Device Manager.
    • Click on display
    • Show hidden devices.
    • Click the arrow next to keyboards.
    • Right click on the name of the keyboard device.
    • Select uninstall.
    • Continue deleting the names of devices in the category keyboards until the feature of all the names have been uninstalled.
    • Restart the laptop twice.

NOTE: Please repeat these steps for the TouchPad in device as Manager.

I found a document of troubleshooting for you to try called Portable keyboard troubleshooting.

Here is a document for you called using the TouchPad and ClickPad (Windows 10).

Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant. Simply download and run the application, and it can help you find the software and drivers for your system this update is necessary to run compatibly with Windows 7.

Please let me know if I answered your question by clicking on the 'Thumbs up'.

  • Reinstalling the driver for keyboard and mouse

Re: HP Envy 17 t-3000 CTO Notebook PC

I want to reinstall the keyboard driver and mouse of origin. I have the original disks - how can I do?

    Thank you

If you are talking only of keyboard and mouse, then it does not require additional installation such that the computer will be installed automatically. In addition, you can install this software:

    ALSO

Try to install HP Support Assistant that will automatically download and install updates/drivers:

  • I use Envy 17 with a job posting and I need to be able to turn it on even if the lid is closed? Thnx

Hey! Regarding my HP Envy 17 1085 eo. I use my Envy 17 with an external display, and I have to be able to turn on my pc, while the cover is closed (clamshell). It is possible while the pc is in "standby", while activating the mouse keyboard og - but Windows break mode standby after a certain time, leaving me frustrated as I then need to open the lid of my desire and press the button 'walk', to use the Windows. Is it possible somehow? Thank you very much!

    Hey dhalb_,

Have you ever watched the Power Options window (start > type 'power' > click Power Options) where you can change when the computer sleeps (left)? As long as you stop the computer periodically (2 - 3 times a week, if you use it every day) it would be nice to never go in "standby mode" while it is plugged.

For a while, I used a laptop as a desktop replacement with an external monitor and ran into the same frustration as yourself. I shut down my computer after each use if so I came up with a scheme where I could leave the screen all half open, just enough to be able to press the power button.

If you prefer to go in standby mode, you can go to the advanced power settings (Power Options > change Plan settings next to the selected power management > change advanced power settings), extend your sleep and set "Hibernate after" connected to never by typing 'Never' in the field minutes. Click on apply and OK.

I should mention that it does not extend the life of your computer to run constantly. Hard drive failure and the motherboard issues sees much more often on machines that are constantly running. Computers bogged down and run slowly when the memory is full. Memory erase them and will reset when the computer is turned off. Here's a link explaining more on the accumulation of memory and aging of the material.

I hope these suggestions help. Please let me know if you have any questions.

  • Keyboard and mouse hangs often.

    Thank you for your time.

I was faced with a problem with my mouse and keyboard. It's mostly the mouse, but it happens that the keyboard is affected. Basically, weather it's game or just browsing, the mouse would stop working for a second, then making noise he might do if I plugged it in, then start working again. This could happen very occasionally or once a day. Sometimes, the keyboard and mouse stop working for good. So I have to press the off button on my tower to put in mode 'sleep'. Which temporarily solves the problem.

The only thing that I can associate this problem with is buy Borderlands 2 on Steam. In other words, this is the first time, I had this problem. It's probably a coincidence, but if it has something to do with it, it would be good to know. I was told to update my BIOS, but my father (I'm 15) tells me it is not a good idea because something can go wrong, and totally riun my machine.

    My specs are:

Product number: QW729AA #ABA (I don't know the exact name of my computer, but it says HP Pavilion on it.)

    Windows 7 64 bit

    No real error message

The change was that I noticed the problem around me buy Borderlands 2

Once again, thank you for your time to help me with this problem.

I think that I fixed it.

It was the mouse itself, because I spent my mouse with another and the poor functioning of the mouse didn't work on the other computer.

I just mark as resolved or you guys can I do if I can't

    Thank you

  • Problem starting el capitan (sierra) - built-in keyboard and the mouse do not respond

    Hello

I have a 2015 macbook pro (SSD 256, 16 GB of RAM last el capitan updated) with a wired problem.

I use it mainly to a cinema monitor and I use wireless keyboard and mouse (office installation program), and of course as a stand-alone laptop when I'm not at my desk.

When I put the laptop to sleep, everything works fine when I wake up.

but, if I'm away from the office and I have to restart my laptop, here is the problem.

The boot process is very very slow, there is no edge, and when I finally have the screen to unlock the safe, the keyboard and the touchpad do not react. Actually, that's not exactly true, they are so slow that they are unusable and get caught quickly, all gel. So I can't unlock and complete the boot. My laptop is unusable ;-(

At this point, I get a message that if I forgot my password I just need to reboot by pressing the power button, and I'll be able to reset it.

When I do this and aprΦs the dΘmarrage that more slowly than usual but ok, I get another screen with several options of problem solving. One of them is "keyboard not responding do not. When choosing this one, it asks if you want to remove safe. I tried and everything was back to normal.

later, I delivered safe and I had the same problem again. I did the thing to be able to restart again and improved to sierra in the hope that it would disappear. However, the problem is still there.

I thought I could try to restart my office to see if my keyboard and wireless mouse would still work. Indeed, even if responsiveness was not normal, I could unlock and fill the chest.

I have the impression that my laptop always "believe" it is on my desk, linked to my screen (probably the reason why I don't hear the Bell) and to my wireless K & M.

It's really annoying and I hope someone has a solution.

    Thank you very much

    best,

    Alex

I'm having a similar problem with macOS Sierra which I didn't have with El Capitan.  I can possibly move the cursor on the power button and turn off (no), but I must be patient because the keyboard and trackpad are only for a fraction of a second, which only allows me to move the mouse slightly.  After he stop and start back up, everything is perfect until I tried another reboot, and then I'm back to the beginning.

I tried to reinstall the operating system, reset the SMC, resetting the NVRAM, reboot in SafeMode... nothing worked so far.
