HP envy wifi

My Hp Envy m6 1178sa cannot load any web pages or video stream without constantly buffering. It seems to have gradually worsened to the point where things don't load any more. I tried to find out if I need to update my drivers but cannot load the flipping thing! My other wifi devices work well, this isn't the Internet. < br > help appreciated!

I solved the problem by installing the Wireless Display driver directly from the Intel Download Center - seems to be a newer version out there.

    Hello

You put a serial number of the printer here, not a model number of the printer

Access the site of HP drivers at this link > put in the full printer model number > select your operating system > find the right drivers > download and install following the instructions from HP that you may find.

  • HP Envy wifi does not

Hello, I just got a new HP Envy. However, I was not able to maintain a wireless connection. Generally it will not connect to my wifi or connect only for a few minutes and then say 'limited' and then not at all connect. I did the full windows to the computer updates. I've updated the drivers for the wifi card. I have updated the firmware on my router. I also uninstalled norton. None of them have worked, still no connect or will connect and fall in a few minutes. My information system is the following:

Product name: HP ENVY TS m6 Sleekbook

    Total memory: 8.00 GB

Processor name: Intel (R) Core (TM) i5-4200U CPY @ 1.60 GHz

    My wifi router information is:

    Netgear WPN824N N150 model

    Channel is set to auto

Mode: up to 150 MB per second

    Security: WPA2/PSK [AES]

I have two ipads, two iphones, an xbox, a windows phone, two toshiba laptops and hp Pavilion DM3, which are able to connect and maintain free wifi without problem (not all connected to the certain time necessarily-, it is not a problem of overload). The network works fine, I just can't understand what is the problem with this HP Envy.

Well, after I saw that the wifi worked in safe mode, I went into the startup applications and managed to turn them off and restart the computer to find out who was playing with the wifi. I have disabled startup motoralla bluetooth software and disabled secure boot. He is immediately connected to wifi and not him has not yet declined. Problem solved.

I have at least 7 other devices using the same router wireless without any problem.  The connection drops at seconds.  Sometimes I can get a Web page to load but not a second.   I changed the channel on the Router 1, 6 and 11, but that did not help.  I also deselected the option to disable the network card in the computer to save energy, but even once, it did not help.  I can't find advice on the internet that seems to help.

  • M7-n101dx envy: WiFi problems for m7-n101dx HO want

Bought this cumputer 16 September 2015. Pluged in Ethernet no internet no issues at all, the WiFi, the connection is dropped randomly. Temporary solution is to diagnois the WiFi connection. Defalt gateway is not available (whatever that means) is the problem which is fixed until the next time. HP has already downloaded new drivers a couple of weeks with some improvement but not a solution. Now they want to reset my computer and start from scratch (really want to do it unless it's the only answer).

I have an older Pavilion DV7 with Win 8, a brand new Pavillian 15-ab223cl, win 10 and a Nook Tablet all run well on WiFi. The Internet service is ATT DSL using a Neatgear Modem/Router

I have a work around. I have an old router max Neatgear range that I have pluggeg in the Ethernet to connect to my router (Netgear model B90-755025-16) ATT. The old Netgear has not declined the internet connection WiFi or ethernet.  As the B90 worked OK on the ethernet cable to the laptop, I decided to experiment. Good results

So my best guess is the isOK ATT Modem/Router as a Modem, not so good like a wireless router. Go figure!

  • HP TouchSmart 15-j051ea ENVY: WiFi update

    Hello

My laptop is a HP ENVY 15-j051ea TouchSmart and has an Intel® Centrino® Wireless - N standard 2230. I had a look online and thought that the Intel® Centrino® Advanced-N 6235 would be a decent upgrade. No problem with my current phone, but I try to get better speeds.

I am wanting to know what think of upgrading chosen in terms of difference that I will notice, and also whether it will be compatible. Heard a little HP having problems with compatibility due to the white list.

Here are the links to these two circuits you can look at what each offers and let me know if you think that the upgrade would be useful.

You are the very welcome, Chris.

Yes, it would be the perfect way to test if the laptop has a list white or not, since the info is not accessible to the public.

I did the same thing with my laptop HP 350 G1.

From the factory, that he couldn't have the mirror from the map screen he could not Intel WiDi as your 2230 is.

But the rest of the hardware (CPU and graphics card) was capable of WiDi.

I got an Intel 6230 card wireless laying around, so what I did to unscrew and remove the card Broadcom who was in the stock specifications, but I left the antennas connected on it.  This way if the Intel card didn't work, I wouldn't be messing around with these tiny antenna connectors.  I doubt they are supposed to be taken on and off too many times.  In the event of the card Intel did not work, so all I had to do was unscrew and put the Broadcom card without messing around with the antenna connectors.

I installed the 6230 dual band Wireless N card and kept the laptop on the table (since the Broadcom card has been suspended by the antennas) and started.  No error in the BIOS.  I went into the Device Manager and saw that she acknowledged the map as a network controller (because he was not the driver).

It was enough evidence for me.  So, I finished installation by exchanging the antennas and installing the driver for the wireless card.

Then once I installed the WiDi software, I could mirror my laptop to smart TV screen.

Since it worked, I decided to buy the new Intel 7260 dual band Wireless N, which works very well in my book too card.  Fortunately, the antenna lead held upward.

So yes, definitely try any wireless card mini half that can fit into the slot.

  • HP Envy M6 - 1103so Wifi issues

So my WiFi keeps declining. Most of the time this is 1 or 2 bars and running extremely slow, often so slow that firefox reacts in not opening any site. So, I went down to the store where I bought it, and they send to repair.

They exchanged my WLAN. But it's still doesn't work do not, it's actually worse than before the repair. Sometimes he climbs at full signal for about a half second, then up to 1 bar again. After awhile it drops signal completely, it says that it cannot find any network, then I have to restart my laptop and then I get signal again, but after a while the same thing happens.

So I thought that they just changed the WLAN, then maybe it's a driver problem or a virus. My network drivers has completely updated, I ran the anti-virus, anti-malware and anti-adware (bitdefender, malwarebytes anti-malware, adwcleaner, HitmanPro) and nothing came. My phone, another computer, TV and PS3 would go absolutely well on the network at the same distance from the router. If I put my right cell phone next to the router, I get full signal. So I guess it's a kind of antenna problem, but it is hardware or software?

So please help me to solve this problem. The only solution is to send it in for repair once more?

I found many solutions to HP Envy WiFi problems in the forum. Just type in wifi HP Envy or wireless in the search box.

For example, a recent post, is:

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/wireless-Internet-home-networking/HP-envy-WiFi-not-working/m-p/2753639#M45971

I try these first, then if the problem continues contact HP support.

When installing Windows 8.1, I was able to tell that the WiFi card installed was a feature of Broadcom, but the driver on the support page for this machine does not work.

I tried the last few days but I find no related article this topic.

  • Envy 15: HP Envy 15 - Intel 7265 - WiFi fails to connect

    Hello

I have a HP Envy who came with 10 windows and has an Intel WiFi 7265 card. I started the Setup program and was able to see WiFi connections and connect to the office and two - House. Once all updates completed, I usually used it between the two locations of WiFi - both work very well. However on a trip, I tried to connect to other WiFi and since tried about 6 different options and all fail - "Connecting" message shows, then disappears and no connection was made.

Different wireless devices include a 2Wire, Dlink, Cisco Enterprise Access Points, Access Points, a three hotspots different telephone based. All do the same thing.

    Steps for debugging:

    (1) update driver. HP site has a driver from March 2016.

    (2) installed the driver Intel AC-7265 from 09 20, 2016.

    (3) change the settings for the favorite band at 2.4 GHz and also at 5 GHz and neither make a difference - DLink business devices and Cisco work in both frequencies.

    (4) change the widths of 801.11 channels to 20 MHz only.

    (5) changed "wireless mode" in the pilot of 802.11 a, then g, then a / g and back to the default a/b/g value.

Done everything above with the disabled on Bitdefender firewall.

None of these worked, shaped so I'll post here, to see if maybe someone else has had something similar and did get a resolution.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Hello

I finally get a resolution - not really a resolution, but at least my WiFi working properly I can say - I ended up factory restore.

In essence, it is a workaround, because everything that triggered the issue could not be overturned and fixed. Had to spend the whole weekend to get my data/apps etc put in place again, which is exactly what I wanted to avoid.

I think someone else can begin to rebuild their system instead of having to try all the options we've been through here and save themselves a lot of hours of frustration.

    Thank you.

  • HP Envy 700: Cannot find wifi password

    Hello

    I have two questions:

1: I have an HP Envy 700 office and I am connected to the internet via an ethernet cable.  It seems that my computer has built in because it gives me a wifi network name, but when I try to open it, I need a password and I never remember having a password! I made Diagnostics and tried to find the password on my PC but not luck. Any ideas on how to get my password or reset it?

2: is it possible to have two wifi and always use a cable ethernet on my PC? I would use the WiFi from my PC with new smart tv that I just bought, so I can broadcast shows.

    Thanks for any help!

    Hello

    1. you need to connect to your wireless router to know what is the password, OR you can reset your router and start over again.

Router must have a tiny hole and you can use a paper clip to reset. Plase to consult its manual.

    2. Yes, you can use BOTH at the same time.

    Kind regards.

  • HP ENVY laptop - 13-d045tu: BCM43142 change on Envy 13 wifi card

    Combination 792608-005 BCM43142 of Broadcom 802.11 wireless network adapter b/g/n 1 x 1 Wi - Fi and BluteTooth 4.0 m2

There is problem of BOUNCING on Windows 10 wifi connectivity so I change to another card and at the same time offering an AC 5 GHz connectivity.

One of the options I'm considering is Intel AC 7265 (HP part no 793840-005) that comes standard in the variant of other Envy 13 sold elsewhere.

Newer that I am wanting to NGFF Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260 (8260NGW)is another model.

Can anyone tell if there are fears white list on the question if these cards above would work on my laptop?

Should I get the AC7265, I get the part specific HP itself or the Intel will do?

    Thanks in advance guys!

    Hugo

You can safely assume that any HP laptop with a 4th generation Intel Core processor or newer has no whitelist wireless and yours is 6th generation if you are safely beyond the question of the white list. However, the real problem comes another question HP Wireless: the single antenna module, which is now installed in most HP laptops. Most of the 1 x 1 b/g/n modules have only a single antenna that makes it impossible to get to something that works in the 5 GHz band.

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

See p. 31. The manual shows 2 antennas and I hope that's right but the only way to be sure is to open and just look. If you see a single antenna wireless, I shut up and look for a usb dongle that is compatible with 802.11ac. Or prepare for a complete teardown add a second antenna.

The AC 7265 is good enough, if you have two antennas to support.

You also might as well get the variant of HP that HP has a big enough market share that are still lacking these autour and they do not cost more:

  • Envy 15-j104el: updated NETWORK WiFi card and RAM update

    Goodmorning to everyone

I write this post to ask for information on the possibility to do an upgrade of hardware on my HP Envy 15-j104elsystem.

    That's what I would do:

-Replace the network card (NIC) to a wireless better and possibly with a compatible AC NIC.

-Update to 16 GB of ram, put benches with CL9 SODIMM

The questions that I want to bring to your attention are:

-There is a 'white list' for the wifi card on my BIOS (actually F66)?
(consultation with the service manual there are little NIC OEM selled, y at - it ONLY compatible?)

-Put the sticks of ram CL9 (instead of CL11 currently OEM mounted), I can inprove the overall performance?

    I want to install are:

    -Intel Wireless-AC 7260 more Bluethoot HMC 4.0

    -Kingston HyperX Impact DDR3L 16 GB (2x8gb) SODIMM 1600 Mhz CL9 (Kit)

According to your experiences, is it compatible? I can buy them without any problem?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me. Thanks for your suggestions

In particular, I take this opportunity to greet and also need the help of my friend @visruth ;)

    1. no whitelist. Your laptop was conducted after HP stopped using a white list so that you can install any card with the right form factor and the number of antennas. The Intel 7260 card should work.

    2. you can install the CL9 memory but it will not do anything all run faster. The motherboard is made to operate at the speed of the OEM memory so the Kingston Hyper-X will work, but the specifications of it in operation will be the same as memory OEM.
