HP Firebird 802 RTC CMOS battery

I was wondering my CMOS/RTC battery is DEAD! It seems that nobody is part # 505150-001.

Please someone help me with a job change battery CMOS/RTC. I know it's a marvel of packaged shrink-wrap type CR2032. What will work the OTHER HP computer CMOS/RTC?

.

Never thought that I would STILL use this platform... when the RTC is dead.

.

Thanks for any help.

    Hi David

Do you need help? What you mean exactly, step by step disassembly procedure? Maintenance manuals are not public documents and I'm really interested if anyone can offer assistance to you.

When you want to swap the portable RTC battery almost entire must be dismantled. Believe me that is not the procedure of 10 steps and to do something like this, you need the disassembly instructions. I recommend you to check how it will be service charges because that when they disassemble the laptop they can clean at the same time and the laptop will be as good as new.

If you want to do it yourself, it is very important to use authorized by Toshiba replacement batteries or real. Battery wrong installation may cause a battery explosion, or other damage.

    Please be careful about this.

  • How to replace the RTC (CMOS) battery satellite A50 432

    Hi all!

I have a SA50-432: what model of Satellite's my cell phone?

I need to replace the RTC battery (cmos).
Should I open my laptop? Or what parts?

    Thank you!
    ALE.

    Hey Buddy

To replace the CMOS battery, you will need to disassemble the whole laptop.
    You want to risk that?

I mean the whole notebook must be dismantled in the right direction and you use the right tools and the right order
It's not easy and I would say that that's impossible without additional manuals and hardware experience

I recommend contacting a mobile technician, that it would be the best way because this disassembly is really complicated and there is a high risk that damage you other expensive parts like motherboard or display

PS; Why do you want to repalce the CMOS battery? Have you tried to recharge it again?

  • How to replace the RTC (CMOS) battery in the Satellite A50-452 (PSA50E-01700WGR)?

I need to replace the Satellite A50-452 CMOS battery, but can't find any instructions online on how I would go about this procedure. Does anyone know how or where I could find instructions?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Manual maintenance is not public record, so you can not find it for download.
Here in the forum isn't easy to post description step by step how you can disassemble your laptop and there are always risks that can damage some small piece of plastic or plastic media.

I put t really know what to say. Try to use google and find a page where you can find a description how to do this.

  • CMOS battery dead in Satellite M40. What should do?

My cmos battery seems dead as my date and time settings are not retained.
It is true that it is not easily replaceable part, only that it is soldered on the motherboard? If that is so the solution and the likely cost to replace it? (Im in the United Kingdom)

    Thank you
    Kieran

    Hello Kieran

You are right. Replacing the CMOS battery is not so easy on laptops. The whole notebook must be disassembled to gain access, but replacement is possible.
In any case, prior to do any start your laptop connected to the power supply and leave 24 hours to load the CMOS battery. Maybe it helps.

Check please the 112 page in user s manual RTC battery 24 hours (System).

We are working on 13 a friend x 360 laptop which has battery issues. We replaced the battery and still having problems with time remain up-to-date and slow start so assume it's the CMOS/RTC battery. The problem is, we can't find! We have removed the mobo and it simply isn't there. I can't find videos or manuals that correspond to this laptop specific. All show a very distinct CMOS battery.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Hello.

Hello the problem is that your computer model is not making the cmos battery, why not go, because does not manufactured goods.

  • Satellite Pro A40: location of the CMOS battery?

is anyone the location of the cmos battery on the a40 sat pro that I need to change it.
The laptop is a few years old, so I hesitate to send to the dealer for him as will be fairly high costs!

    Thank you

I put t know exactly the place of the RTC battery, but you should see if you Remover keyboard and lid.
To remove the RTC battery you need to disconnect the cable from the connector PJ8490 on the system board RTC battery and then Peel the insulators and remove the RTC battery.

But note: When replacing the RTC battery, be sure to use genuine battery or spare batteries allowed by Toshiba. Battery wrong installation may cause a battery explosion, or other damage.

PS: Just for the record: the RTC battery recharge takes about 8 hours

    Hello

The CMOS battery (or RTC battery) is used to allow a computer to maintain the non-volatile memory Basic Input Output System (BIOS, IE).

Whitout CMOS battery, the computer will boot but you may need to change every time you start depending on how configure you your machine. The function of RTC battery is not important now because a lot of people now use the timer/clock NTP or internet.

    Kind regards.

    Hello

We also call it as RTC battery and in your machine, it is very simple, as shown on page 66 of the manual. You can buy anywhere or buy HP using the part number: 449137-001

The following manual shows you how to replace (from page 66):

    Hello

You must take the RTC battery and the wire stuck on it, of the Board of Directors:

Withdrawal of the real-time clock battery

Before you start: follow all precautionswhen removing and replacing components.

    Remove the battery.

    1. Loosen the six screws Phillips P1 in captivity which fix the accessory cover to the bottom of the laptop.
    2. Use your finger or a flat blade tool to lift the edge of the cover of the accessory and remove it.
    3. Unplug the cable from the system board RTC battery.
    4. At the same time press the clip that keeps the RTC battery at the base, slide the RTC battery forward. The RTC battery is also attached to the motherboard with double-sided tape.

    The real-time clock battery change

    1. Slide the RTC battery in the clip integrated into base housing.
    2. Reconnect the cable to RTC battery to the system board.
    3. The accessory cover on the housing of the base of the toes.
    4. Tighten the 6 Phillips head screw P1 in captivity.

    Kind regards

  • TouchSmart 300: CMOS battery

My HP Touchsmart 300 resets the date of 2001, whenever it is turned on.  I googled the problem and the most likely solution is to replace the CMOS battery. Which panels at the back of the computer to access the battery and it is quite straightfoeward to replace?

    Thanks for your help.

    @banhien

The RTC battery is actuallly pretty easy to replace in this model. All it takes is patience and organization to perform the task.

You are right. A flat CMOS battery will cause the BIOS do not store the date and time system. It must be replaced by a new battery. You will need a CR2032 battery, which can be purchased at the pharmacy, Wal-Mart or an electronics store.

The panels at the rear of the PC are quite simple to remove and replace. You will need to get to the motherboard to replace the RTC battery.

See the video on the following document. See minute 05:20 where you can see the RTC battery.

  • Presario 2111 cmos battery replacement

I was trying to find the battery type and the location of the RTC (CMOS BIOS) battery that is used in the Compaq Presario 2111EA laptop, as the User Guide and the maintenance manual does not mention the battery or how to replace it.

    Hello

I disassembled the laptop and find the CMOS battery on the underside of the motherboard.

It was a normal Maxell CR1220, 3v lithium (like a watch battery) button which are clips in a white plastic stand. I ordered a few 40mAh ability with a life until 2018 for some books.

I would have thought that a rechargeable type Lithium-ion would have been used instead of the non-rechargeable type. It is a pity that was not the result of the form of the Mini PCI door to accommodate the change the battery because it is located near the door on the bottom of the laptop. It would have been too easy and owners could change the battery themselves without having to disassemble the laptop to change a battery.

It was for sound technical reasons.

    Thanks much for the reply

  • Did I lose my settings RAID if I remove the CMOS BATTERY?

    Server Dell Poweredge 1600.

My server running, but I get no message, no video and no beeps because a disabled person the speaker in the BIOS.

I've heard to see if the CMOS battery is dead, but we have important things that has not been saved to disk.

I'm not an expert on server but I doubt that disabling the speaker in the BIOS, if these options are still possible, stop a post and video output. I do not see how a dead cmos battery stop post I have an iomega Server I play with dead circuits RTC so cannot keep time and I started successfully without cmos battery installed. So I would say there is something else with your hardware, you need to find flaws...

As a first step, I would take the minimum system needed to post (2 DIMM, 1 CPU and none of the cards or HARD drive) and see if you can access the BIOS. Then put back one item at a time in the system and get to see if you can get into the BIOS with each addition... The issue that causes post failure corresponds to the faulty but if cannot post a minimum configuration, it may be the power supply, dimm or mobo, cpu...

I also understand that the RAID configuration is actually stored as metadata on the HDD of the themselves, while the RAID card to know these specific HDD are inserted into the slots. As the RAID metadata is at the disk themselves, they can be moved to another (compatible) system where the HARD drive would be considered a foreign configuration. After you import the foreign configuration, you will have access to your data.

But I haven't played with moving HARD drive between the RAID cards in other systems, so don't know the intricacies of the compatibility. If something is not that you can always loose DataUn so do not have a backup is to ask for trouble...

(So now I should listen to my own words and go make a backup now )
