HP J070CA - Windows 8.1 - validity fingerprint reader

Hello guys,.

I have just upgrated Windows 8.1, and now the fingerprint reader does more.

I know earn 8.1 integrated biometrics support, so I tried to uninstall HP SimplePass, without success. I updated the drivers to the latest I've found (4.5.123.0), I tried to uninstall/reinstall the drivers, I started the service "Windows biometrics", basically, I tried everything I could think of.

At present, the fingerprint reader drivers are installed correctly and it is detected by the system, but in the Panel, the category "Biometrics" is not there. Also, in the settings of laptop-online accounts-online SIgn-on, the fingerprint option is disabled.

-Does anyone know what I can do? Or wait for the newer drivers?

Hey guys!

Today, my Windows asked to upgrade to Windows 8.1.

Once I've upgraded, I reinstalled the drivers from the HP website, and then everything worked magically.

I think it was a bug with Windows 8 with this specific device fingerprinting, and it is set in point 8.1.

Thanks for all your help!

Check it out and try it!

Most Vista drivers work well with Win 7.

  • Fingerprint reader not working not not upon awakening from sleep for the windows login

    Hello
I have a new T540P with a validity fingerprint reader.

About 80% of the time, the fingerprint reader does not meet the windows login screen after the wake up the computer from sleep mode. It works 100% of the time when starting from a stop position, however. Once connected, it also works 100% of the time. The question arises when you log in to windows.

    I tried many things

-uninstallation/installation of the device in the Device Manager and finger print manager pro software

-prints of setting through two fingerprint Manager software pro (lenovo) OR through the windows built in options of the control panel of the fingerprints

-disabling "allow windows to turn off this device to save power" in Device Manager.

Thus, I must say that I have an another T540P I ordered as a replacement. Both models encounter the same problem.

Is it a matter of broad platform affecting all models of T540P? It's frusterating.

  • Windows 8 fingerprint reader no longer works (need to Flash the BIOS to fix)

I have a DV6-7014nr bought around September of 2012.  I have upgraded to WIndows 8 when it first came out.  I had no problem with the reader of fingerprints on Windows 7, but do not use for a long time.

As the subject says.  I can run it for a few weeks (on Windows 8), and the fingerprint reader stops working.  None of the biometric devices are listed in the Device Manager.  If I try to load the driver, it does nothing, as if the player is simply not there the responsibility of the driver closes just (with no message).

Peripheral Biometirc in the Panel control says there is no biometric device found and simplepass opens without the fingerprint reader recognized.

The only thing that solves this is my BIOS which comes Insyde to re-flashing. It is noted in the setup of the BIOS relating to biometric devices.  I have just discovred that BIOS update solves a problem because there was an update that I applied.  Have to reapply the update of the BIOS to fix this seems excessive to us.

    Added March 29, 2013:

I just re-applied the BIOS two days ago and already the figerprint teader plug working again.  I tried a hard reset (because I saw that as a solution previously, and it is easier and faster to re-flashing the BIOS).  Who has shut down, remove the battery, now the power for 30 seconds button, boot the system without the battery.  He has not fixed the problem and I can't even understand why the fingerprint reader keeps disabling.  A re-BIOS flash solves the problem, it seems that the problem must be with the BIOS software.  Oh I also had turned off the "Allow windows to turn off the device to save power" for the biometric device before he went kaput.  It doesn't stop of is suckier.

There must be a better way.

    Thank you

    Hello cjwh888,

Try to restore your BIOS then use Recovery Manager to restore your software and drivers.

Please let me know if it helps.

    Good luck!

  • m6 Pavilion: fingerprint reader does not

I recently had a new hard drive installed and now the validity fingerprint reader no longer works. Under devices, it does not show the Analyzer must be installed and the drivers are up to date. Is there some hp software I need to download?   Thanks for your time

    Hello

It seems that you have a missing driver, the former driver who worked with her has been installed on the old hard drive, so now you must install the same driver or a newer version if available.

You can get it from the hp support & drivers.

By entering your laptop name and the model, you will get a list of all the drivers for it.

  • EliteBook 8460p: using the fingerprint reader to log on Windows 10.

I recently picked up this 2nd hand computer laptop for use at home. I was happy to find that it has built in fingerprint reader that will keep my children on my account. This is recognised by Windows 10 on the device as a biometric device manager / Validity Sensor. However, I have no options to activate Windows Hello on my account and found nothing on the Windows support on with Microsoft to respond to my problem. The supplied fingerprint reader will get an updated driver that gets 10 Windows to recognize as supported by Windows Hello? Is it already work? Do I need additional software that the laptop was bought only with its OEM Windows 7 Pro OS installed and nothing else. Any help would be appreciated.

    HI @vdolcourt,

    Thank you for your query.

I seized you fingerprint reader was working fine but suddenly stopped.

You did it all change hardware or software because he worked? You did all your Windows updates?

You have the last validity sensor driver installed. The HP Support Assistant can help you in this process.  Here is a link for HP Notebook PCs - troubleshooting a (Windows 8) fingerprint reader. The steps should be the same for Windows 10.    Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver?

Updated for Windows7 professional relatively smoothly. During the upgrade to Windows 10 required an uninstall of the HP tools protect and all files related; I guess it was the program by using the fingerprint reader when I first bought the lap top

The BIOS is configured to allow the biometric device. Device Manager displays the "Validity Sensor" and is the latest version of the driver 4.5.133.0. Made the change of the parameter of gpedit.msc and went to the Admin tab to allow the use of biometric devices and sign in using biometric devices. I even went to the settings of power and unchecked the biometric cutting attribute as an energy saving

Under the windows settings 10 for accounts under sign on options, there is no attribute for the biometric recognition and/or face. I added a PIN in the hope that it would seem, but nothing. Windows "Hello" is none existing

    Any help or suggestions appreciated

I wonder if your system is an upgrade (Windows 8 for Windows 8.1); There is no a SimplePass program listed for the OS Windows 8.1.  Upgrades can be tricky - SimplePass runs very well on a system upgrade, and then - poof!  Not-so-good.  IF your OS is an upgrade, the following may or may not be as useful - however, we invite you to take a look at the following and I hope it helps.

Open the file > click Download > click 'open in Adobe Reader.

    HP SimplePass upgrade instructions

    • The 'official' document HP link is to Page 2 - take a look at this.
    • Jump to the bottom of Page 10 (updated) - follow the procedure in the order of Hard Reset

Reminder: stay calm: there is a device reset, it will not erase your computer.

    • If no joy, see Page 5: procedure - updated / (install HP SimplePass Re)

Of course, you are welcome to read the entire document.  Understand that this is NOT a document of HP; It is not written in a particular format or order - it's more a collection to a specification.  The smile.

  • EliteBook 840 G1: Validity Sensor fingerprint reader is not listed in biometric devices

I received an Elitebook 840 G1, tried to turn on the fingerprint reader, but it was not acknowledged.
Control Panel/biometrics devices, there is no device, although the "Validity Sensor" Device Manager is listed, the pilot seems too. I installed HP ProtectTools Security Manager, where I can find the footprints of the option, but to logon Windows is always Username/Password the only option to log on the system.
Check the BIOS, fingerprint logon is enabled. Tried to uninstall Validity Sensor and then reinstall it, didn't work.

    OS: Win7 (x 64)

    Thank you in advance!

    See you soon,.

    Thomas

In the meantime, I found the solution:

I've updated HP Client (sp63509) Security Manager, opened the program, registered my fingerprints and checked 'Windows logon security' at home/Advanced Settings / Security Features.

It finally works, I can not connect with my fingerprints.
(Again, under control panel / biometric devices there is no item listed)

    See you soon,.

  • Fingerprint reader no longer works on dv7 - 7373ca Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

    Hello

I'm a dv7 - 7373ca and I installed 64-bit Windows from 8.1 to this topic. I can't seem to be able to operate the fingerprint reader. Before I formatted the computer, he had Windows 8 64 bit on it and the fingerprint reader worked perfectly.

I installed the driver fingerprint sensor fingerprint validity provided here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-109892-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en... (i.e. sp58900)

It doesn't seem to be a HP SimplePass software available for download in the on the support section of this model for Windows 8.1. So I have downlaoded the more recent for the same model but for Windows 8. (i.e. sp63224)

Even if HP SimplePass software opens and, in my view, there is a problem with the drivers because the light next to the fingerprint reader does not illuminate and HP SimplePass says he has encountered a problem.

Could you please help me solve my problem?

    Thank you very much

    Alex

Well, I'm done. I installed all the other drivers, Windows Update and installed my programs. Everything works perfectly. I don't know what the problem was after my first installation of Windows 8.1. The only thing I did different in the second installation was the order in which I installed everything. Install the fingerprint sensor driver validity above all the rest, it seems to have solved the problem. That's what I would do if someone has the same problem. Install the drivers before the Windows Update.

Thank you for your time and help,

    Alex
