HP K5H28AA #ABL: accidentally disable all usb port

Looking to change the settings in my BIOS I accidentally disable all USB ports. Now I can't use the keyboard and mouse. I want to know if there is a way to reset to the factory settings, the computer from the motherboard

Hello

Before you try this, unplug the devices all attached, turn off the PC and remove the power plug.

There should be a jumper on the Board that you can use to remove the settings current CMOS, located just above the cmos battery - move the jumper to the clear position for 30 seconds and then bring him back - see the image at the link below.

rThen your question isn't specific to Windows 7, you must consult the manufacturer. You should be able to disable the USB via the BIOS ports. Also, why do you want to set the optical drive as read only? If it is shared? If so, the advanced sharing disk properties, from there, you can set permissions on the drive. • I have a Kyocera FS-820, but I could not able to install the USB Port in windows 7

I need to install my old printer is the Kyocera FS-820 printer which works properly on Windows XP, but when I bought a new laptop which has Windows 7 Home printing USB no longer works. I tried to install the driver, but unfortunately I could not able to find the USB port.

When I plug the usb PRINTER cable gives me an error of USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZE.

Can someone help me what are the installation step by step in my printer thank you

It seems that Kyocera has a driver for Windows 7 which you can download from their support site (download file - make sure the file name and where it is being recorded and then search for and double-click on the downloaded file to install it): http://usa.kyoceramita.com/americas/jsp/Kyocera/resource_details.jsp?pid=13988&rid=22655

  • All USB ports stopped working Windows 7

Windows 7 Pro. All USB ports stopped working.  When I plug a usb card, windows makes the sound as it connects and the card gets power (light).  I see the map appear in disk drives in Device Manager.  The player does not display in windows Explorer or disk management.  In Device Manager, it has an exclamation point and says that the device cannot start.

Strangely, I have a USB keyboard and mouse and they work very well.

It's just the USB drives and chips and SD cards that are not displayed.

    I have:

    Reinstalled the drivers USB MB

Flashed the BIOS with the latest version

Tried to install the older USB drivers

Tried to let windows find the driver.

    Still does not

None of this has helped.  I ended up formatting the HD and reinstall windows from dvd.

This revealed that my USB multicard reader was bad.  When I unplugged the problem disappeared.

  • Disable the USB port

How do disable you the two USB ports on the front of a Dell Inspiron 3647? Or better yet, the password protect them?

The problem with the software approaches, either change the registry or by using an application like IntelliAdmin, is they disable all the USB storage for all users. If you won't be able to connect a USB or USB either. Note: If you use them, only the key and encrypted USB drives USB encrypted is HIPAA compliant.

You will also need a password protected administrator account and only this account has the right to change the registry or re - run IntelliAdmin to reactivate the USB access.

The Manual shows two connectors on the motherboard to the front USB ports. If you unplug the cables of these two connectors (be sure to store out of the way or cover with the CHATTERTON, so they can't communicate with the motherboard, case, or any other component), you can physically turn off the two front USB ports.

BUT, BUT... I do not know if that generates an error message when the PC starts, or if the PC starts even when these two cables are disconnected. May be worth a try...

My other thought is to put the PC in a cupboard locked (with adequate ventilation) and only personnel are the key.

Since it is a HIPAA question, you may not be the first to meet, then maybe you can find acceptable solutions to the HiPAAJournal.com or related resources.

    Hello

Something similar happened on my laptop. The laptop has stopped to recognize the external device (USB HDD). Someone told me that it happened because I used the safely remove. Usually, if you want to for example disconnect the USB HDD or USB key, you must use the remove before disconnecting the device from the laptop.
I just deleted all ports USB device and Manager after restarting the laptop operating system recognized all the USB ports again. Further, I have connected my external HARD drive, and it worked!

I put t know which external USB devices you use, but sometimes the machines cannot be allowed because the ports USB don t provide enough power.
In this case, you can disable the mode without power failure in the USB hub properties in Device Manager.

    Good luck

  • accidentally disabled enhanced usb controller now can not log on to windows

    Hello

Start the computer in safe mode and start the desktop.

Safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs do not work in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed.

Start your computer in SafeMode (Windows 7)

    Then perform the following steps:

A: right click on my computer, and then select Properties.

B: then go to Manager of devices and then, on the Action menu, click scan for hardware changes

    Hope that helps.

  • How to disable certain USB ports in a machine of windows 7

On the 4 USB ports on my PC, I need to block all ports except one. The PC runs on windows 7 Professional - 64-bit. How can I do this by tweak Windows registry.

You can change the capacity of the ports in your BIOS settings, if you want to enable or disable. If this is the case, you will need to contact the manufacturer of your device to change.

  • 8460w some (not all) USB ports not working not

    8460w running Windows 7 x 64.

2 USB ports on to the left of the computer (facing it) do not sign anything when you plug something.  All other ports seem to be in perfect working condition.

    -Updated all the USB drivers

-Confirmed that nothing is turned off in the BIOS

-Uninstalled all drivers USB, stop, removed all forms of power, held the power for 1 minute and let stand for 20 minutes

-HDD Ran, start-up and break-in of diagnostic tests

    -Replacement motherboard

-Repeat everything with the new motherboard

There is no windows error, no bubble popup in the system tray and no problems in the system logs.

Literally my mind stops there.  Can anyone think of anything anyone else I can try?  Any ideas AT ALL would be great.

    Thank you.

    Workaround.

There was a missing element that was supposed to be bundled with the Systemboards.  It's a small daughter card that inserts directly behind the USB 3.0 ports.  Once I found on another computer, I was able to use it in this machine.  Thank you for your time.

  • Tecra S3 external drive usb disconnects on all usb ports

    Hello

I have a Tecra S3 with the following problem:

When you work with external storage devices, my devices disconnect by them - same (somethimes) after somethimes 5 minutes after 1/2 hour and when working with multiple devices all devices disconnect at the same time, a place of the problem on each usb connection.
I tried various storage devices such as sticks of memory cards sd with a usb adapter and hard drives.
How can I tell if the problem is hardware or software partners?

    Greetings,

    Marco

It seems that your usb devices sometimes need ampere more supplies (500mA max) usb port.
Establish an external usb hub and connect your storage devices. The usb hub must be active (with adapter)!
    It should work.

  • Satellite C50-A-138 - all USB ports do not have

    Hello

I have a major problem with my Satellite C50-A-138.
The card reader has never worked, and one by one the USB ports have stopped working.
I can connect my phone to each of them, and he will.

But I can not plug any device into the port and have the laptop recognize at all.
So far, I tried the following:

Deactivation and activation of each port
    Uninstalling and reinstalling
    Updates
    Updating of windows 8
    Reinstallation of windows 8
    Regedit HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\UsbFlags
    Regedit HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\usbhub
    Download of patches

Is there anything else I can do to make them work again?

    > Card reader has never worked, and one by one the USB ports have stopped working.
It is really strange. This model laptop was offered with Win8 64-bit and I can't imagine that a few pots do not work on the first day, and from the moment when the laptop was delivered with factory settings.
    > Reinstallation of windows 8
Have you created a recovery media and then installed recovery image using this media?
With other words, have you tested the feature with the factory settings?

  • G1 laptop computer 350. All USB ports stopped working

Hello. I hope someone can give me some advice on this subject.

I turned on my laptop the other day and none of the USB ports worked. Any device I plug is not recognized and there is no power to the USB ports. (Goal of mouse does not light, bright external HHD is turned off. USB flash drives do not light up.) Powered deviecs are not also recognized is more than a problem of USB power. (When I say not recognized I mean there is no indication that they are still connected, no pop up error message or indication in Device Manager that the device may be defective).

I tried to uninstall all USB drivers without result, I started from a Linux CD and a Win7 ERD without result. I also tried a hard reset, also without result. I have reset the BIOS and verified that USB is enabled in the BIOS but that also made no difference.

If anyone has any useful advice, I would be very grateful.
