8460w some (not all) USB ports not working not

8460w running Windows 7 x 64.

2 USB ports on to the left of the computer (facing it) do not sign anything when you plug something.  All other ports seem to be in perfect working condition.

-Updated all the USB drivers

-Confirmed that nothing is turned off in the BIOS

-Uninstalled all drivers USB, stop, removed all forms of power, held the power for 1 minute and let stand for 20 minutes

-HDD Ran, start-up and break-in of diagnostic tests

-Replacement motherboard

-Repeat everything with the new motherboard

There is no windows error, no bubble popup in the system tray and no problems in the system logs.

Literally my mind stops there.  Can anyone think of anything anyone else I can try?  Any ideas AT ALL would be great.

Thank you.

Workaround.

There was a missing element that was supposed to be bundled with the Systemboards.  It's a small daughter card that inserts directly behind the USB 3.0 ports.  Once I found on another computer, I was able to use it in this machine.  Thank you for your time.

  • All USB Ports stopped working, the software device driver has not been installed successfully, error code 52

Hi I do not know what the problem with my USB ports I can not connect to any device, do not know when he started since week last I have no problem with that, I thank you for the helpful answers!

Can remember you if the beginning of the problem coincided in the installation of Nero?

Also, have you considered, or it would be convenient to use the system restore using a restore point before the beginning of the question.

Another possibility is to reinstall or 'repair' Nero over himself.

  • G1 laptop computer 350. All USB ports stopped working

Hello. I hope someone can give me some advice on this subject.

I turned on my laptop the other day and none of the USB ports worked. Any device I plug is not recognized and there is no power to the USB ports. (Goal of mouse does not light, bright external HHD is turned off. USB flash drives do not light up.) Powered deviecs are not also recognized is more than a problem of USB power. (When I say not recognized I mean there is no indication that they are still connected, no pop up error message or indication in Device Manager that the device may be defective).

I tried to uninstall all USB drivers without result, I started from a Linux CD and a Win7 ERD without result. I also tried a hard reset, also without result. I have reset the BIOS and verified that USB is enabled in the BIOS but that also made no difference.

If anyone has any useful advice, I would be very grateful.

  • USB ports stopped working unexpectedly

Hi, I am currently on "Toshiba Satellite C655"run"Windows 7 Home Premium". It's a laptop of 2009 model (2 GB). Last night (24/02/14) my USB Ports stopped working, they have been and continue to read anything every time I have to plug my devices. I usually only connect a cooling block and a USB mouse to the computer. They worked perfectly until I disconnected the. When I reconnect them, they work momentarily, and then I hear the beep sounds when you eject a device. I tried to connect several flashdrives, a printer, and one I tried the following hotfixes:

Note: The order of numbering has nothing to do with the order, I tried to apply each patch unless specified elsewhere. This computer had Windows 7 Home Premium REINSTALLED at some point. Just for your information. This message was made when there are others with the same problem is due to the fact that no solution not specified by Microsoft Technical Support or the Microsoft community were effective.

    1) System Restore to the last known point, where they worked (and still). (Point restoration @ 15/02/24)

    2) Windows Update

    3) turn off the computer, disconnect the battery and the power supply and holding 'On' button for 10seconds.

(Note: whenever I turn on the computer now they work only for a moment, usually from 60 to 180 seconds.)

    (4) Start > research ' Device Manager '> "De Bus USB controllers" Expand and turn off and restart the computer. They are re - activate automatically but my problem persists.

    (5) download and run "Microsoft FixIt.WinUSB... ", on the 1st, I had a problem with devices not updated. But I actually watch updates by using Windows Update and ""searching for hardware changes "" on USB Bus controllers "." I then did a 'System Restore' and now Microsoft FixIt found no problem but the USB Ports don't always work.

    (6) will ' services.msc"and change the Startup Type of Manual to Automatic for Windows install and restart Windows."

    7) regedit

    8) sfc/scannow

I am really lost with this problem now. My laptop works and worked perfectly fine until this problem occurred. I have fixed minor problems with computers before, but this is a bad joke for me now. If someone could please help me with this problem I would appreciate it a lot. Thank you very much.

Thank you for your help, but I discovered something funny on my computer. My cooling package (product name: Laptop Cooling Pad NSB;) HYCF-6181-2 model number) is to disable my USB ports when I plug. If I leave it unplugged and restart my computer, my USB mouse is still working on a port. Also tried using my USB and other devices. The problem is my block of cooling that strangely disables my USB ports, whenever I plug. Thank you very much for your quick response, fortunately the answer might help me in the future. For now, I have solved my problem.

A recent hardware or software change might be installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or maybe it's a malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)

I restored the functionality of USB ports by doing a system restore before installing updates.

What should I do? Ignore ALL updates future windows 7, which leaves the system vulnerable? Help is appreciated thanks.

    I solved this.

    Hello

Before you try this, unplug the devices all attached, turn off the PC and remove the power plug.

There should be a jumper on the Board that you can use to remove the settings current CMOS, located just above the cmos battery - move the jumper to the clear position for 30 seconds and then bring him back - see the image at the link below.

Assuming that your keyboard works during boot (and it should; trying to tap F8 to access Advanced Boot Options Menu), probably the simplest method would be to make a Hiren Boot CD, boot from it and use one of the many included tools.  I have not experienced with your particular situation, so I can not tell you what tools will be or will work for you, but my guess is that USBDeView might work.

  • Device not recognized USB error message - all USB ports.

Apologies if all this seems a bit simple, but I'm not an expert, so bear with me.

I have a laptop Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Li 1718.

My USB ports have stopped working in 2-3 weeks.  I get the message "USB device not recognized.  One of the devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned and Windows does not recognize... »

I don't seem to get any yellow exclamation point in device, all my drivers in Device Manager and software are up to date and Windows Update is running.

My mobile phone and ipod always charge when I plug them in and out of this problem, everything works fine.

In addition to the usual updates of Windows, only two other things have occurred since last, they worked.  One was that I renewed my subscription to Norton Antivirus, the other was that my laptop battery ran right out while he was in mode 'sleep' as I did not know that I had not plugged to the socket properly.

So far, I went through some process as suggested by various items and/or help & support on Microsoft.com.  They include:

    * (From multiple locations) system restore has failed.
    * Diagnostic software Ran Fujitsu Siemens, which says that my computer is fine.
    * Run the virus scan who come clean.
    * Tries to connect via a USB hub.
    * Deletied the USB controllers in Device Manager to re - install.
    * Changing the settings of ForceHcResetOnResume 3-to-1
    * Change AdditionalCriticalWorkerThreads from 0 to 2

(The last two I've changed back again after neither worked).

My opinion of beginner, it's that looks like it will create new registry details for each device when valid seem to exist already is not thankful.  Although given my lack of technical knowledge, this could well be stating the obvious.

So, now, I drew a blank.  Anyone got any ideas?  Got 9 months left a 3-year warranty, I don't want to go through the hassle if it can be avoided without too much trouble.

    Thanks in advance!

    Tim

Hardware devices not detected or does not work - a Mr Fixit
    http://support.Microsoft.com/GP/hardware_device_problems

Have you tried to use an external hub powered by USB power is very limited in a computer and if overloaded
    strange problems will come up.

    ------------------------------------------

Even if you did some of this departure please up and work until low and if necessary check
    with the utility.

Control Panel - Device Manager - click in the empty area - VIEW - show hidden devices

Now look everywhere EXCEPT the USB controllers for your device (cannot be found) and if you find
It RIGHT CLICK and UNINSTALL all. The device is your (s) or similar.

now go to the USB and UNINSTALL ALL controllers in the category, but the category itself.

    APPLY/OK

    RESET

This refresh battery USB and hopefully it will allow the unit to install. (You may need a powered hub)

Here is the similar procedure under XP, Vista is the same, except that we need to clear the specific device if present.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310575

This is a utility to help you, but do 1 above.

USBDeview is a small utility that lists all USB devices currently connected to your computer, as well as all
USB devices that you previously used. Run Options and check the 1st three choices to see if one is there.
Try to remove all instances and restart then plug the drive.
