HP laptop Pavilion g6 - stall wifi connection

I got a g6 HP laptop Pavilion for nearly a year, running on Windows 8.1

I am of people (and more) loss of connection wifi to router - all other devices using the same WiFi (desktop, nexus, samsung phone phone) all keep them the connection and internet access, but the Pavilion keeps falling.

Other related posts on this forum suggested the issue may be an outdated driver - how can I check that?

Hello again Pragmata,

It is good to hear from you again!

As the problem persists after that you turn off the laptop, I also recommend following the steps below to correct this problem:

1. open DEVICE MANAGER

2. open the NETWORK CARDS

3. right click on the WiFi adapter for the pc and left click on PROPERTIES

4. click on POWER up.

5 remove the check mark beside: ALLOW the COMPUTER TO TURN THIS DEVICE SAVE START STOP

6. click on OK

7. close DEVICE MANAGER and test.

NOTE: There may also be checked under the CONTROLLER FAMILY (for example. Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller which would belong to the title of the WiFi card). If so, you can remove the check mark next to ALLOW the COMPUTER TO TURN this DEVICE FOR SAVE OFF.

Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your response!

  • Pavilion X 360: Wifi connectivity

    Hello.

My laptop is not always autamatically connect to my wifi. Sometimes Yes, sometimes not at all.

When he does not connect automatically it takes time to establish the connection.

No other cell phones in our House didn't have problems with wifi, so it must be a problem with my laptop.

Please help - its really irritating!

    Gareth,

Call your Internet service provider or connect to your router to verify your address IP DNS and alternate.

The DNS address you use is the address of your cable / satellite provider assigns to you so that you can use their service to get on the Internet.

For example, if you use Xfinitiy/Comcast as your cable Internet Service, you call on the phone or use something like the following to eas-to-read their forum.  It includes a useful link for the information of the ISP:

Original title: network Ethernet NIC network adapter wireless network device

Hello. I have a MSI laptop that I connect to the Internet via a Wifi modem active gave me my quest (now Qwest). My computer intermittently, but quite often disconnects me from the Internet. When this happens to all first when I click on the icon bar of modem box opens and says that there is no connection when I know that in fact there are at least two options available Wifi. After a while appears a list of Wifi options and my computer connects to one that's on. If I don't want to wait, I can click on the hyperlink in "Troubleshooting" and, in fact, after some changes screen, my computer connects again. However, these interruptions are quite annoying. • Pavilion 17 t: WiFi limited connectivity issues (Intel AC 3165)

I recently bought a Pavilion 17 t at Costco. Overall, I love the computer. But he has a major problem, which is unacceptable for a laptop. The wifi keeps does not. I have not found a model of either.

I will be connected to my wireless network, and then all at once the internet will stop working. Still, it shows connected to the router, but cannot access the internet. I contacted HP support twice about this now, and their solution did not solve the problem. The BIOS has been updated, the driver has been updated, Windows 10 has been updated, the wireless driver has been uninstalled and reinstalled. I still have the problem. If I try a reboot when this happens, reboot is very, very long time. I have it clocked 2 minutes before I did a restart button Manual power on it. But the problem of restarting seems to occur whenever the wifi problem happens (assuming I do a restart). I tried to turn the wifi market, and that is difficult. He often turns back on as soon as I turn it off, or does not at all meet my attempts.

If I connect a wired connection to the laptop, I am able to connect to the internet again. All other devices on the wireless router will still function properly when this computer does not work.

What would be my next steps to try to solve this problem? More information if you would like me?

    HP Pavilion 17-g133-cl

(Edit: Add product and OS info, correct a few grammatical errors.) Add the step 'Click 'OK' ').

Well, I was all over the internet trying to solve this problem I had the same experience. I found a solution and I signed up just to post on these forums. This problem has been a nightmare and I wanted to share.

My machine is HP Pavilion 17 G1337-CL, which has the ac3165 Intel (r) Dual Band Wireless. (I did a hardware change by exchanging on the HARD for one SSD drive)

The problem I had was produced by the Windows power management system. When I went to a few minutes, without access to the internet it would be close. I could open a browser window, but if I was not actively sends or receives data, the connection would be closed.

It's the solution of two parts (10 Windows):

    PART 1

    Start menu right click Windows

    Select "Device Manager".

Open "network cards" from the drop-down list

    Right-click "Inter (R) dual band wireless AC-3165.

    Select "Properties".

    Select the tab "power management."

Uncheck the "Allow computer to turn off this device to save power".

    Click on 'Ok '.

    PART 2

Right click "RealTek PCIe FE Family Controller"

    Select "Properties".

    Select the tab "power management."

Uncheck the "Allow computer to turn off this device to save power".

    Click on 'Ok '.

Restart the computer (don't know if it's necessary, but I always restart)

    It fixed for me.

I found part 1 on several forums, but I had to find part 2 on mine. I was connected to the internet for nearly 24 hours without a single loss of connection! Essentially, the driver for the controller has been close and do not restart properly. Without the controller, the wireless adapter cannot communicate with the system.

Sincerely, I hope this helps, it is a beast of a problem and was all-consuming for my last three days off!

  • WiFi connections: Laptop HP cannot find the 5 GHz wireless signal?

Hello, this is my first post I just bought my first laptop and my first wireless router and have been setting them up.

Laptop: HP touch laptop Pavilion 15 15-n088ca with windows (fully updated) 8.1

    Router: D-Link Dual Band AC1000-band 2.5 GHz & 5 GHz DIR - 810L

I configured the router and worked out the kinks and updated the software.  My laptop detects and connects with the 2.5 GHz Band anywhere in the House.  My laptop does not even find or see the 5 GHz Band.  However my Galaxy Tablet concludes the two bands and can connect at once, thought the 5 GHz seems weaker.

I noticed that my Galaxy tablet is much more WiFi networks that my laptop (that are in the houses around the street).

I have need help troubleshooting and problem solving.  I think that my laptop would find the 5 Ghz band and be able to connect. So I hope that it is a software or driver problem and just a setting that needs to be adjusted.  Any help would be appreciated.  I don't know much about the WiFi drivers, but I'm a survivor of Vista, so I should be able to solve this problem.

I don't know even what kind of program is running the WiFi software on my laptop? Or where to find it?

    Thank you

    Hello:

Welcome to the HP consumer's Support Forum.

I'm sorry that I'll have to disappoint you on your first post, but according to the specifications of the product on the link below your laptop comes with a single wireless card band (2.4 GHz) with bluetooth.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03940371

I can tell this by the description of the WLAN card.

    He is listed as a 1 x 1 802.11b/g/n WLAN.

Whenever you see a closed wlan b/g/n card, it's a map of the only band (2.4 GHz).

A dual-band card would be qualified bird a/b/g/n or a/g/n.

When I look at the parts list for your laptop on the link below, the last listed item is the wireless card there.

    Atheros AR9485 wireless 802.11b/g/n 1 x 1 adapter

    http://PartSurfer.HP.com/search.aspx?SearchText=F0Q62UA

Googling the specifications of the card, I found that will confirm what I wrote above.

    http://reviews.CNET.com/adapters-NICs/Atheros-ar9485-802-11/4507-3380_7-35558446.html

So there is nothing wrong with the wireless card or router.

  • HP Pavilion 15-AB106AU: Wifi stall

I bought my new laptop last week. Wifi is continually dropping out (we have several other devices at home and we have no problems with wifi for one any of them).  I tried to follow the HP support notes and tried to download the drivers from the HP site, however

    I get this message:

"HP has encountered an error when trying to analyze your product. Please verify that your product is turned on and connected, and then try again in a few minutes. Alternatively, display all drivers available for your product below.
    Try again. '

There is no list of drivers posted for me to choose.

I am very disappointed that I did not aware of this problem when I bought the laptop. I'll be back tomorrow and ask for a refund. I tried different suggestions of support pages, but feel that it is useless to waste more time.

Other this wifi problem, I like the computer laptop but cannot afford to waste any more time persistent and I'm not willing to pay someone to fix my laptop brand new.

It's a miracle that I have connected long enough for this type of stay!

    Hello

I was extremely frustrated when I posted a few nights ago. Yesterday, I had a chat session online with an HP Support Assistant. I allowed him to access remotely to my laptop and I believe that the problem has been corrected. I don't know exactly what he was doing, but he had something to do with the resettlement of the BIOS.

I must say that he was extremely patient and professional and I am very grateful for the support that HP have provided.

    Thank you for your response.

Routers "dual-band" can use one or two channels to send a signal to your devices.  If you have not a double router broadband, then it is most likely using the 2.4 Ghz frequency band.  I guess that no one has brought any internal changes to your router recently.

Have you tried going to the Control Panel/Network and Internet/Network Center and sharing, then the "solve problems" link at the bottom of the page?

  • Ethernet works, but wifi connection does not appear?

I have a Pavilion G6. The wifi worked well until last Friday, when all of a sudden it would not work. He IS recovering near connections wifi, but not my house. IT just does not appear on the list available to all. Checked the internet modem and it works with the ethernet cable. I wonder what could the problem? It's really annoying me. In addition, wifi is available on the laptop of my roommate, but not on mine.

    Hello:

Here is the link to the latest driver for your wireless card.

    http://h20000.www2.HP.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en & CC = US & prodTypeId = 321957 & prodSeriesId = 3688868 & swItem = ob-102505-1 & mode = 3

Powercycling the modem and the router is a good idea, but you need to know how to do. There is a specific order if you have a router and a separate modem.

    1. close all PC.

    2. turn off the Modem and the router.

    3. turn on the modem only.  Wait about 2 minutes.

    4. turn on the router. Wait about 2 minutes.

If you have a modem/router combo, then you need not step 4.

    5. start the PC and see if you can connect.
