HP Laserjet 2300d Windows 8, no option for two-sided printing

HP Laserjet 2300d, Windows 8.   I don't get the ability to print on two of the 2 sides with the lastes updated drivers from HP.    Does anyone else have this problem?  If yes how it sets do you have?

You will probably need to set up the driver to let know that the duplex unit is installed.

Look at the device settings tab in the printer properties dialog and check the duplex unit is installedand not installed.

  • LaserJet P2055d: LaserJet P2055d two-sided printing problems

I have a new computer with Windows 10.  I have connected my LaserJet P2055d and recognized Windows and the driver PLC6.  I don't have the ability to print double-sided, like I did when I was with this printer with a computer running Windows 7.  Any advice would be appreciated on how to acquire the ability to do double-sided printing.

The function "automatic detection" used by some drivers on the install (or update) does not always; make sure the driver knows that a duplex unit is present on the printer (assuming that a single is present):

    • For the instance of the printer in question, bring up the printer properties dialogue.
    • Select the device settings tab.
    • Make sure the duplex unit is set to installed and not installed.

You will probably need to be logged in with administrator credentials in order to change the settings of the device.

  • HP Laserjet M553: HP Laserjet M553 leaves two-sided printing

I'm running 10 Windows on a desktop HP Envy with a printer HP Laserjet M553. I have this printer for a little more than a month.  I was able to print two-sided dox on this printer with only one or two times before this opportunity not to print on one page (front and back).  In these situations, I was able to stop the printer and the computer, and then restart both and duplexing continued.  Now, happened for the 3rd time after several weeks of use unless it occurs and it refuses to print duplex style once rebooted, even having to sit off the power, unplug computer and wall of a catch of the day to the next.  Anyone else have this problem or have any suggestions as to why this is occuring?

Unless you send a primitive regime print jobs (such as DOS, or non-TASSES * n * x systems), default values or settings of the printer itself will not usually come into play.

With print jobs generated by modern windows and * n * x systems, the printing itself must contain printer-language 'orders' to select the mode of plex. the printer should just obey them.

The only possible exception is if you chose some document types (e.g., transparency); for these types of paper, you must use "manual duplex printing" rather than "auto duplex printing.

Maybe you (inadvertently) select printing in your application, or preferably driver printer settings?

  • Color LaserJet3505dn: Options for the network printer

We have a HP Color Laserjet CP3505dn installed (cable directly to the router) in a cable network that has 8 computers with a range of operating system Windows from Vista to 10. When I add this printer to each computer, network searching Windows detects the printer named with its IP address, but also finds the printer from the NP. Which should I use?
I've been using the IP address successfully but I noticed that when restarting the router, the IP address of the printer going on and I need to reinstall the printer on each computer. I also used the IP address because when I installed the designation of NP, I received the message "printer is out of ink" and nothing does not print. (Note: I use the manual control on the ink).
Ideally, I would like to install the printer once on each computer and the computer to find the printer on the network whenever the computer is restarted. How can I do this?

    > when the router is restarted, the evolution of the printer IP address...

This means that the printer is to get its IP via DHCP.

You could instead to configure the printer to use a static IP address (and 'reserve' this address in the router so that it's not getting assigned to another device when the printer is turned off).

  • 6980 HP on network, no two-sided printing unit equipped with Windows 8 Pro. Not available manual duplex printing

Windows 8 picked up my network printer and installed the drivers very well.

When I go to print, "manual duplex printing" is not available on PRINT ON BOTH SIDES.

The only option is 'off '.

Went through Control Panel to CUSTOMIZE YOUR PRINTER and manual duplexing is enabled for this printer!

    Kind regards

New driver for 6980 downloaded automatically by windows 8. Now works fine

  • The combination of several documents for double-sided printing

Is it possible to combine several pdf documents or word to insert automatically blank pages on the documents that use odd pages, but doesn't add pages to documents whose pages even if the final combined PDF is put in place for duplex printing with the first page of each current combined to go on the front of a page?

For example, I have 4 different PDF with different numbers of pages:

    pdf = 3 pages 001.exe (numbered a01, a02, a03)

    002 pdf = 4 pages (numbered b01, b02, b03 - b04)

    003 pdf = 5 pages (numbered c01, c02, c03 c04 c05)

    004 pdf = 3 pages (numbered d01, d02, d03)

Page number 01 must always be on the front, but if I combine the pdf page b01 will be on the back of a03 and I have to manually insert a blank page.  This will make b01 printed on the front of page 3, which is what I want, it will also fix b02 - c05 002. PDF with an even number of pages, but d01 must print on the back of page 7 instead of the front of the 8 page because there is no blank page after 003.pdf.

Is there a way to make acrobat recognizes the number of pages in a document and then insert a blank page automatically when it acknowledges the documents with an odd number of pages?

If the feature/script would follow these steps:

    001.exe pdf recognized as 3 pages (numbered a01, a02, a03)

    blankpage.PDF

    002 pdf, recognized as being 4 pages (numbered b01, b02, b03 b04)

    003 pdf recognized as 5 pages (numbered c01, c02, c03 c04 c05)

    blankpage.PDF

    004 pdf, recognized as being of 3 pages (numbered d01, d02, d03)

make the final printed output pages 9:

    A01 (front) / A02 (back) d03 a03/blank b01/b02, b03/b04, c01/c02, c03/c04, c05/blank, d01/d02

    Something like this:

    If ((this.numPages % 2) == 1) {}

    Insert a blank page

    }

  • Implementation of document for two-tone printing

I create a document that will be printed using two colors: black and a Pantone ink. In the swatches Panel, I deleted all the nuances except black and my Pantone color (and obviously no, paper and recording are still there). I've also created a few shades mixed inks based on black and Pantone color.

However, I notice that the ink Manager still shows Cyan, Magenta and yellow as well as black and Pantone. Manager inks Acrobat is the same, despite the preflight, showing that it produces only two plates. (In the preview of the output, only black channels and Pantone view coverage, but harvest see the mark on all five channels.)

Should I be worried? Is it possible to set up a document for printing two colors that I missed?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

The ink Manager is not a problem, bu the mixed colours are potentially, depending on the media used. A few small publishing houses 2 colors use a unique cover and mix the ink on the cover for the overprints (which is what the mixture of inks), creating a lane of cross-contamination of inks which can disturb the color all around. You can check that this won't be a problem on your work.

    Help, please.

    Thank you!

    Hi lisap1110,

It is recommended that you uninstall the printer from your computer and then download and install the latest driver from the Canon Website:

    https://www.USA.Canon.com/Internet/portal/us/home/support/details/printers/inkjet-multifunction/MX-s...

This should give you the option to print double-sided again.

  • LaserJet P1102w: Double-sided printing will not turn off

Even if double-sided printing is NOT selected in the printer properties, printing all ask for double-sided printing.  So if I go to print a single page printjob, the computer asks to have the blank page that was 'printed' just to get back in the tray.

How can I get this fixed?

    Hi @Skunkeeper,

Welcome to the HP Support forum.

I understand that you use a HP LaserJet Pro P1102w printer with a Windows 10 computer and when you try to print a single page, the printer ejects a blank page and ten invites you to put in the tray, so the second side can be printed, even if double-sided printing is not selected. I would like to help with that.

This really looks like a software problem. I would like to start by running this HP print and Scan Doctor. It is a tool that allows you to diagnose and solve the problems of printing software and printer.

Please let me know if that solves the problem, or if you need assistance.

In fact, if it helps you to find a solution, please click on the 'accept as Solution' and the 'thumbs up' buttons down below in this message.

  • No double-sided printing for HP Photosmart C309g-m MacBook wireless

I have a MacBook 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo running 10.7.3. My printer is a HP Photosmart Premium C309g-m. When it is connected to the printer via USB, I can select two-sided printing under page layout option and print on both sides. When connected wireless through Time Capsule, the option is grayed out, and he said: it is turned off. I don't have this problem with my MacMini running 10.5.8. The function stop working while I'm running Snow Leopard and I was hoping to go to Lion would settle the matter, but no luck. I uninstalled the software all the HP and removed the printer in the list of printers and re - he added. Any ideas I could try? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Bad luck, sorry.  I see full features for 10.7 software has not yet been published.  You can try the full software functionality for 10.6 for this printer but I think it can cause other problems.  You can always uninstall it if it doesn't work right:

  • Cannot turn off Double-sided printing on LaserJet P1102w!

So I just installed this LaserJet P1102w and I absolutely cannot understand how to disable two-sided printing. It's really annoying because even when I try to print only a one page document he sucks a blank page, does not print anything on it and then told me to return the document to print the other side of this one. Sometimes it prints also a Hewlett-Packard test page or something that wastes the toner. I have gone through with a fine tooth comb printing preferences and cannot find a way to turn it off. There is nothing in the user guide on how to disable it. Scan doctor said there is nothing wrong with the printer. I tried to download some sort of aid to this site and is not compatible with this operating system I guess. I've lost hours trying to figure this out and there is no way to call and speak to a human, I guess. I want it out. Can someone please help me and tell me how to disable? It's wasting toner, my time and it's extremely frustrating. Thanks in advance for any help.

Check that the Mode of Duplex in device settings setting in properties P1102w is OFF.
