  • HP Mini 110 3100 replace hard drive

    Hi all

The hard drive in my 3100CA HP Mini 110 is dead. Well, die anyway. There is an intermittent squealing coming from him. I did the Test drive via menu HP diagnostics and it said that faulty hard drives SHRT DST (passed test SMART).

I'm looking to replace the hard drive. I found the service manual and understand the keyboard connector is fragile. I also found this post:

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/notebook-hardware/change-hard-drive-for-HP-mini-110-3000CA/m-p/362149

Before you buy a new hard drive, could someone answer a few questions:

    1. I understand that the mini supports a standard 2.5 "SATA. Does it matter if the drive is SATA 1.5 Gbps and 3.0 Gbps?

2 repair numbers of replacement parts for the 5400 RPM drives, 7200 TPM would work as well? I don't remember if it's something that needs to 'support' or is not generally found in netbooks (power reqs, etc.).

    3. it is the hard drive that I am considering. Is it compatible? There may be something I forgot?

    http://www.Newegg.ca/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16822145455&TPK=22-145-455

I'd appreciate any help or advice.

    Thank you.

    Hello

#1, opt for the SATA 3 Gb/s, in theory double the speed.

#2, you can use 7200 RPM. Please watch these videos:

    http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=ngDIgDGNy3M

    http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=nELBz1VB7oo

#3: it should work, please check the video above 1.

    Good luck.

  • HP Mini 110-3600 sd screen problem

    Hi all

I have a problem with the screen of my HP Mini 110-3600 sd (product code LD078EA #ABH). Yesterday morning all of a sudden it became too small for the content, which means that the bottom was not visible (for example windows, I use windows 7 starter edition). To be clear, that the full screen doesn't work, if I maximize the view, it's actually too short. The night before, it was working fine and I did not install anything until I turned it off.

I tried to install the new drivers and using the different resolution but nothing seems to work. What I find strange is that when I look at op the specs of this laptop it says it works at 1024 x 600, but the pc is recommended to run in 1024 x 768 60 Hz. (The screen has never been replaced) The laptop seems to be confused about her size and position, if I chose a resolution '1024 x 600' and 'centre screen' it looks like the screen space, but he put a black in the top column, so that in the end, she always falls short. And, although I'm not sure about this, I thought the laptop used to support a higher resolution, before this problem (1360 x 768 perhaps?).

Below, I've included a story on the monitor (or pilot), if more info is needed I would bring him a pleasure (but I'm not experienced enough to know what you guys should be now).

  • HP Mini 110 - no sound after replacing hard drive and install XP

Mini 110 my wife died recently and I had to replace the hard drive.  I got everything up and working well except for the audio.  The driver on the HP website for the 110 will not install as it is said that there is no device installed for this driver.  In the list of hardware, there is a PCI Device with a question mark, and I can't seem to find a driver.  Even after the installation of the driver chipset and bios flashing, there is not audio device work.

There, can anyone help?  I would really appreciate it!

Try to install the audio driver from here and check... ftp://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp44501-45000/sp44799.exe

  • installation and replacement of hard disk in the computer hp mini 110

I need help replacing a hard drive on my computer hp mini 110.

    HP Mini 110

    Windows XP sp3

I just posted a question about the installation of the operating system.  Fixed that issue but found another.  I installed the operating system and everything was fine.  I started to install the drivers and applications, and after you have installed hp applications the pc has restarted and came up with a message saying:

PRI Master Hard Disk: S.M.A.R.T. Status BAD, Backup and replace, press F1 to resume.

PRI Master: WDC WD1600BEVT-60ZCT1 13.01A13 ULTRA DMA MODE 5 S.M.A.R.T. Capable and BAD Status

I press F1 and it started.  I was still a few drivers requiring an installation.  Since I've installed just everything, there was not much to save.

I installed a different driver and rebooted and this time I hit F1 it didn't start.  I got a black page with a line of blinking cursor and nothing else happens.

After some research, I've seen it's a bad hard drive.

    My question is:

Is this something that can be replaced at home.  I can read the instructions.  What I need to get the same hard drive, or are there others that will work?  If I can do it at home, where can I find instructions to replace it and what is the best place to get the hard drive.  Is this what I need to know.

Thanks for anyone's help.  I'm sure I look like an idiot, but it's something I've not done in a laptop.  I replaced and internal hard drive in a desktop computer.  I remember myself set to land and out and plug in another.  I had the chance then because the computer had 2 hard drives.

I guess I'll need to reformat the drive and start over again with the installation of the operating system etc.

Would I be able to upgrade and install vista or windows 7?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Hi, Tamara:

Here is the link to the service manual for your laptop, which also lets you complete the You-Tube video.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c01895806.PDF

You can buy a 2.5 "laptop hard drive size 160 GB SATA II, should not exceed 500 GB.

You can get a 5 400 rpm model or a model of 7 200 RPM.

The difference between the two is that you will get better performance (faster seek times) a disc of 7 200 RPM.

However, it will be at the expense of the life of the battery between charges.

So, what you choose, it's up to you.

Here is a link to a site that sells hard drives of laptop.

They have great prices and there are a lot of feedback from customers that may be useful for you to decide which one to go with.

    http://www.Newegg.com/store/subcategory.aspx?subcategory=380&name=laptop-hard-drives

According to specifications, your computer can run Windows 7 well.

I recommend edit you your message and remove any reference to the discussion of smuggling copies of Windows 7. These assignments are not in accordance with the rules of the forum.

In addition, please keep in mind that a lot of these free copies of Windows can be loaded with traps that can steal your personal data and do other nasty things, including perhaps turn your PC into a Bot who committed illegal activities.  It is not worth it for me to install such illegally of is software and possibly have the bust of the FBI to the bottom of my door and arrest me for something that I didn't know that was going on with my PC.

It seems that the recovery XP disks are available for your PC, even if the link is broken, so if you want to reinstall XP, contact HP by telephone and you can get a set for less than $20.00.

Otherwise, you can get a game online site for $27.00 + shipping costs.

    http://www.computersurgeons.com/ProductDetails.aspx?ID=13408

You get a legitimate copy of Windows OEM 7 (relatively) cheap at the link below.

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16832116983

Or you can pay double that and get the commercial version, which you can transfer to another PC. With the OEM edition, you can only use it once.

  • To increase performance for HP Mini 110

Hello, I have a HP Mini 110-4250nr PC, bought in the summer 2012.  It is running really slow and frustrating.   It takes up to 30 seconds to do something simple, like open Internet Explorer or any type of file.  Documents can take up to a minute.

I still have the Windows 7 starter is it came with.  I use it mainly for writing.  I have Microsoft Office on it and while running Word 2013 there is a lag, the screen is not follow my typing speed.

If I update to windows 8 performances will improve?  I don't want to drop money on the upgrade to get the same result.

A hardware upgrade will be necessary?

    Hello

The following link shows the specifications of your machine:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03377528

It has only 1 GB of RAM, the upgrade to 2 GB of RAM, you can see a lot of improvement. Machine has only ONE RAM slot, to throw away the key 1 GB and buy a 2 GB key. This is the cheapest way.

There's something else would run the machine faster: replace the 5400 RPM HDD with a SSD, but please consider cost/performance. You can buy RAM from the next provider or use the information to buy elsewhere:

I have a HP mini 110-3600ev and I have problem with my wireless card. In my view, is dead. BTW, I want to replace it.it is a Broadcom BCM94313HMG. I bought a new Internet. Broadcom BCM94312HMG. What could do in order to get my netbook run normally again? and if this new card is not supported with the HP hardware that you should I get!

    Thank you!

    Hello:

For your mobile phone, you can only buy a card with the part number HP on this subject in your owner's manual in Chapter 3, page 22.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c02842192.PDF

You can order from HP to address (change of the country if you do not live in the United States), or ask your research on the internet by the HP piece only.

    http://h20141.www2.HP.com/hpparts/CountryChoice.aspx

If you did not throw your old card out, I'd get the part number and order the same.
