  I have a problem that only occurs during the closing down. When I select Shut Down I soon get a pop up that says... the application could not start correctly (0xc0000142) click on OK to close the application. window label is cmd.exe. Whether I click on the window, closing down product and eventually after say 30 seconds the alarm disappears. clicking on the alert simply displays another alert. This only occurs during the closing down. Also, I have no problem to launch cmd.exe during the normal operation, or any other program running in the command window. I read a few posts but don't see anything exactly like this, what happens during closing down.

  Please check if you are facing the same question when working in safe mode.
  a. restart your computer.
  b. when the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware are listed. When you see this information begins to tap the F8 on your keyboard key repeatedly until you are presented with the screen Windows 7 Advanced Startup Options.
  c. using the arrow keys, select the desired option of Mode without failure.
  d. press the Enter key on your keyboard to boot mode safe mode of Windows 7 with networking.
  e. when Windows starts, use check and Internet explore if the problem persists.

  I just started using my HP MINI again after a year of rest.  I did all Windows 7 updates that can be done.  I was even dedicated to device drivers and updated all those requiring updates.

  Thanks to Provost User DavidPK, I identified a stack as error being the external battery.  I ordered the following and (Amazon says) it should arrive at my home on or before February 11.  Then, I'll be able to use it without a power cord (yay!).  Looking forward to that.  THANKS, DavidPK!

  Now, I'm trying to decide now if I should update or FLASH the BIOS?  It can be risky, I understand.  So, I wonder if it is a gesture that would be the rishk?  I certainly don't want to update something on my machine just to say that I've updated.

  What about updating the bios, my personal opinion is that this should be done only if the update fixes a problem you already have, or adds features that you need.  Otherwise, if everything works well, I'd recommend flashing with a new version of the bios.

  Logitech M505 mouse works perfectly, but I have to remove the Unifying USB receiver whenever I start my laptop Netbook (HP Mini 311) otherwise reboot will suspend computer and never finish the boot process.  If the Unifying USB receiver is removed before the computer begins its startup process everything works perfectly and I just plug in USB Unifying receiver and it is recognized and I'm calculation until the next time I need to use the computer.   I installed & removed and reinstalled the software at least 5 times. I use the latest version of the software and the driver.  All the world run into this kind of situation?

  I took my own suggestion of flashing the Bios and it worked the first time.  This is one of those self speak aloud of bugs.  It was a good day, the problem is solved !

  I had my mini 311-1037nr since November last with no real problem. Last week you think I went to connect Verizon's network and he said that the wwan device has been disabled. • HP Mini 311 is blocking video playback on network

  I have a HP Mini 311 1000 - NR netbook running Windows 7 and it crashes into a video game on the network. It last a few seconds, the video locks, sound gets stuck, then he comes back and plays very well for a while. I should also note that when this happens the HARD drive led is solid, and the computer is completely insensitive.

  This happens when playing Standard and HD video of all formats, avi, mkv, etc...

  This occurs by ethernet and wireless. Ethernet is managed through a switch and bypasses the router.

  Okay so here's the scoop. A time, that I decided to take one of my old phones and dual-boot Ubuntu on it. While his part Ubuntu worked after installation, the part Windows kept crashing. I tried to recover, but it fails every time. Frustrated, I decided to forget it and just wipe everything and reinstall Ubuntu. After doing this and messing around with other Linux distributions, I want to return that has my computer to its former and reinstall Windows 7 on it. How could do to get a version of a Windows 7 ISO OEM. I tried to install an ISO from Microsoft directly, but they said that the product key entered was for OEM and so I needed to contact you guys.
