Original title: cannot start my computer.

My computer seems often quite slow to startup or closing down. However, recently I have problems starting, it. He often asks me to start repair.  It is a common problem for Vista and how can it be solved?

Hello

·         Have you tried repair system running on the computer?

·         Are you able to boot on Windows?

·         You get the error message?

·         Were there recent changes made on the computer before the show?

Follow these methods and check if that helps.

Method 1:

Startup Repair is a Windows Vista recovery tool that can fix certain problems, such as system files missing or damaged, that might prevent Windows from starting correctly. I suggest you to run the Startup Repair tool.

Everyone is different and has different needs and different desires.
There are * no. * programs that everyone should run. See below for
Tips on what you should maybe stop start automatically,
But first of all to consider the possibility that your problem with what he is
slowly maybe nothing to do with what starts automatically.

Perhaps the most common performance issue of today is malware
infection and the first thing you should do is be sure that you are not
infected. So, what anti-virus and anti-spyware programs run, and
    If they are updated?

Once you talked about this question and that is rid of all
Malware or get assured that you are not infected, you can address
the issue of automatic startup programs:

First of all, note that you should be in * all * programs that
starts automatically, not only those who enter in the system tray.
Not all the programs auto-start manifesting by an icon in the
    Status bar.

On each program, you don't want to automatically start, check its
Options to see if he has the choice of not start (make sure you)
Indeed choose not to run, not just a "don't show icon.
Optional). Many can easily and better be arrested like that. If that is not
work, run MSCONFIG from the start. Run the line, and then click the Startup tab.
Uncheck the programs that you do not want to automatically start.

However, if I were you, I wouldn't do it just for the application of
the minimum number of running programs. Despite what many people say
you, you should be concerned, not with the way * a lot * of these programs
you run, but * that *. Some of them can degrade performance severely, but
others have no effect on performance.

Don't stop all programs to run willy-nilly. What you need to do
is to determine what each program is, what its value is up to you which
the performance cost is its running all the time. You can try
Internet search and ask questions about the details here.

Once you have this information, you can make a smart informed
decision on what you want to keep and what you want to get rid of.

    Hello

This problem is limited to a specific Web site or with everyone?

You can approach this problem in two ways: first by simply disabling the cache, but also by restarting DNS client service, which manages the cached DNS queries.

    Method 1: Clear DNS Cache

    a. click Startand type cmd in the Start search box.

    b. right click on cmd in the list programs, and then click run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    c. at the command prompt, type the following line and press ENTER:

    ipconfig/flushdns

Usually, it clears up any issue that may occur.

Method 2: Restart the Service DNS Services

    a. Click Start and run, type services.msc, and then click OK.

    b. double-click the DNS Client service. If you receive a Configuration Manager message, click OK.

    c. in the Startup Type list, click on restart and then click OK.

    d. close Services.

    e. restart the computer.

Method 3: Configure the connection to obtain an IP address automatically

    a. click on 'Start', enter "NCPA. CPL' (without the quotes) in the search bar and press "Enter."

    b. right-click on the network connection, and then click on 'Properties'. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Think about it an absolute must - manually update your drivers.

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.
    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/HT/driverdlmfgr.htm

Installation and update of drivers under Windows 7 (updated drivers manually using the methods above
It is preferable to ensure that the latest drivers from the manufacturer of system and device manufacturers are located)
    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/43216-installing-updating-drivers-7-a.html

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver under Windows
Updates, that leaves about Windows updates but it will not install the drivers that will be generally
older and cause problems. If updates offers a new driver and then HIDE it (right click on it), then
get new manually if you wish.

    Hello

It is not easy to discuss this theme, although you can find many discussions about similar problems. I would like to have your laptop in front of me, optimize the operating system preinstalled on my way and check how it works.

In my opinion, the best option is its use of original OS preinstalled with specific modification and optimization. Why? Recovery image contains all the necessary drivers so hardware will work with maximum efficiency. All the rest is individual OS configuration. To be clear, the recovery image contains a lot of useless things you can delete the system; You must also change the start option and disable the beginning of all things, you don't need.

Upgrade of RAM has been very good decision, I just hope you bought the module of high quality for the upgrade.

    Hello

    1. Are you referring to the performance of the computer?
    2. What antivirus application do you use?

I suggest you try these methods and check the status of the issue.

    Method 1:

Keep the computer in a clean boot and check the status of the issue. If everything works well after a clean boot, you can deduce that some third-party services are at the origin of the problem. Continue with the remaining steps to pin-point on the third party service. After find you the program that is causing the problem, you will have to perhaps to update or install a newer version of the program, if you rarely use that you should consider uninstalling the software.

Note: after you have used the boot is a way to solve your problem, you can follow these steps to configure Windows XP to start normally.

    Method 2:

I also suggest that you scan your computer with the Microsoft Security Scanner, which would help us to get rid of viruses, spyware and other malicious software.
The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.
