HP Notebook: connection to my home theatre with HDMI

I bought this laptop (M5R09UA #ABA) to broadcast content from the internet to my home theater system.  I hung on my receiver (it runs all the audio options and passes through the video) through my HDMI port.  I get the output as a second screen on my laptop, but the image that appears on my TV is slightly cropped on all edges.  I want to adjust the settings of the screen on my laptop to compensate for, but I can't find a setting on my configuration screen of the video display (AMD A8 - 7410 APU with AMD Radeon R5 graphics card).  I suspect that the problem is the limits of the graphics card on my laptop.

What should I do to remedy this situation.

Thank you

J Leavitt

It turns out that I got an update for my video card AMD with new configuration software. The software has a routine for flat screen televisions. In this program, there is an adjustment for on scan. Once I set up my screen, my problem has been resolved.

Thank you to identify the problem than a scan.

  • Connect my Soundbar to TV with hdmi

Hi I just bought a Toshiba 40L5453D smart TV and also a Toshiba PA5075E-2SPA mini soudbar and sub wireless.

Have all two HDMI ports, but it seems that my TV has only HDMI in and not out... There is no option on the sound to pass, so I am currently using the headphone jack... Any ideas?

    Thank you

If you do not have a receiver to your audio, you can not use the sound bar HDMI inputs, as televisions never offer the output HDMI Sockets. Receivers AV only do,
extract the audio and bypass the video signal to the display. But, you can just use the optical-IN of your Soundbar instead to transmit the digital audio signal, as the TV offers a perspective - TAKEN, you'll need is an optical cable.

When I try to connect to my wireless connection, Vista reports that it can not be connected for an unknown reason.

I use the D-Link Access Point and I connected with my HP lap top very well.

    Can anyone help?

    Hello

Believe me it's not easy to say why you are not able to connect to the WLan.
I think that all options must be checked by steps.

First of all I recommend you disable encryption of WLan. Also, turn off the firewall on the laptop settings.
If the laptop connects successfully to the WLan you can turn everything back.

  • I have 3 PC home networking with a router. How to connect my new hp 6500 has more so any pc can print

I have 3 PCs at home with one with XP 32 bit and cable to connect to a router Internet, the secoond PC with windows 7 64 bit and wireless to the same router and the third PC with XP 64-bit with the same wireless router. Currently, two have their own wired to their own printers. I want to replace the two existing printers with my newly purchased HP Officejet 6500 has more which will be located next to the XP 32 bit PC which has currently a cable connected to the router. How can I connect the new HP Officejet 6500 has more to my network to allow any of the three computers to print to the officejet and install the HP software on all 3 PC and if so what progs? I'm sorry if it's a very basic question, but I'm not a computer scientist and the help delivered with the printer documentation does not appear to this lay person to give this information on how to set up a home network with this printer. Thanks in advance for any advice.

    Mike4D

    Hello

You can choose one of the following 2 options:

Option 1: simila in the image above

Connect the printer to the router,

Connect a PC to the router (not wireless computer)

    Option 2:

Connect a PC to the router (not wireless computer)

Connect the printer to the wireless router

Option 1 makes the computer without a connection to the printer. For the other two computer is the same on the two configuration options.

Please use the following book to configure things

Guess - encryption levels are the same. E.g. is your set of router that you use WEP only but your PC configured to use WPA only? http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-HK/Windows7/set-up-a-security-key-for-a-wireless-network

If this is the case try to configure WPA2 or WPA rather than fall to WEP.

Check all the other related settings as well. knowledge is the router using MAC filtering, are there available IP address so that it can allocate? (some routers are possible to limit the amount of IP address, they can allocate at one time).

Second, if it does not remove the encryption all and see if it connects then. JUST AS a TEST, do not leave it.

Since my upgrade to 10.0.2 on my iPhone 5 my phone only connects to Wifi when I'm at home (cancelling the purpose of a MOBILE phone). This was never a problem in the past a my phone automatically and I received and could send emails, messages and use messenger etc automatically. Is - this rare?

    Hi John,.

    Please visit Apple support communities.

I see that your iPhone 5 is not connect to other Wi - Fi networks after update to iOS 10. We offer troubleshooting tips.

Since your wireless network is working, but you cannot connect to other networks, start with the next step in If your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch connects to a Wi-Fi network:

Reset your network settings. Tap Settings > general > reset > reset network settings. This also resets the Wi - Fi networks and passwords, cell parameters and VPN and APN settings you used before.

    Sincerely.

What I've done so far (read before suggesting things I've already tried):

Reconfigured routers WPS to the shared key system.

Ensured that the wireless adapter's parameters defined at 20 / 40 Hz (automatic)

Restarted the router, cable modem & laptop several times

Laptop wireless button is turned on.

FN + F8 to activate BLUETOOTH WIFI (ON) (OFF)

Wireless network added to settings Auto Connect with the end SSID and password encryption method.

Click on connect when network appear in the revamped network and Password Viewer dialog.

    Does not.

I would add that the laptop has no problem connecting via its Gigabit LAN port.

    Something else I'm missing?

    Thanks in advance.

    EDIT: Double post deleted.

    UPDATE:

The next thing I tried was to reinstall Vista Professional recovery disk to see if it has suffered from the same problem.

Wireless has worked under Vista, and despite the updates I was offered, worked without having to update all the drivers.

This got me thinking... so the question is probably DRIVER XP related.
What I've done now is to back up all the updates driver told me to download TEMPRO (BIOS & Manager wireless updates included).

I think part of the problem is that only TEMPRO works under Vista (not XP) so you are not informed of any updates may be required if you upgrade to XP directly after the purchase (which is what I did).

  • After the update to OS 9.2.1 connection of my mini iPad with a VGA projector no longer works... Any clue?

After the update to OS 9.2.1 connection of my mini iPad with a VGA projector no longer works... Any clue? Thank you

Try resetting your device. This will not erase your data stored on that device.

    • Press and hold the sleep/wake button
    • Press and hold the Home button
    • Press and hold both buttons until the display turns off and on again with the Apple logo on the subject.

Alternatively, you can go to settings - general - reset - Reset all settings

If that doesn't work, restore your device to factory settings. Please note that this will delete the data on your device.

Take a look this Apple Support article: use iTunes to restore the iPhone, iPad or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support.

  • How to scan a document HP MFP127fn for my Ipad Air2 (the two are connected to my home network)

Hi, how to scan a document HP MFP127fn for my Ipad Air2?

The two are connected to my home network - the HP printer is connected by ethernet cable, and the Air2 Ipad connected by WiFi.

I can print from the Ipad to the printer but cannot scan.

The printer is properly connected (IE, it scans to another laptop (windows 7) without problems)

    Hi @regtown,

    My bad

Looks like you won't be able to scan to PC or Mac with this printer. HP ePrint app is certainly compatible via iOS for printing, but it won't help you analyze for iPad.

  • Satellite P100-160 refuses to connect to my router 3Com with WPA - PSK

Help! My new laptop Toshiba refuses to connect to my router 3Com (f/w 2.06T13) model 3cWDR100A on WPA - PSK. The router only supports TKIP (no AES).

The laptop, a Satellite P100-160 is under Vista Home Premium with the latest Intel 3945 11.5.0.32 driver and I tried the version of the site Web of Toshiba version mentioned in other threads (and a few other versions also).

Either way, I don't like latest driver hit with content identical binary files and different date stamps or running of the anonymous installers that have not been digitally signed.

The problem is that non-encrypted, or WEP works perfectly, but WPA - PSK is not. It fails with a diagnostic message 'timeout for secondary keys. The thing will be very occasionally connect to the network without a timeout (before I tried to improve things with the last pilot about 1 in 20 attempts after a reboot, now it comes rather from 1 to 100). If I can be sure that the password is correct. When it connects everything is fine and stable with excellent signal until the first suspended and then the connection is lost. It's more than a little irritating.

I see several topics of doom similar networks to Vista support groups. They all seem to hinge around WPA - PSK TKIP and WiFi Intel chipset x 945 in combination with certain models of router. Please can anyone help solve this mess?

I've seen other threads of networking in Vista by users with this specific Intel chipset and my router model having exactly the same problem and so far nobody has found a solution. I checked the basics of knowledge (MS & 3Com) and tried a few plausible fixes, but nothing helped. I'm out of ideas.

It seems a little absurd to demote network security to make the latest PC works correctly. Dumping Vista (however tempting) is not an option.

Thanks for any suggestions or diagnostics.

    Kind regards
    Martin Brown

    Hello Martin

As you can see this is not Toshiba specific stuff and if there is no 'global solution' I don't really know what Toshiba should do about it. As you all know it should support hardware and software (driver), but if not I don't really see a solution for this.
Who should offer a solution? Toshiba or Intel?  :|

  • I lost my connection Wireless at home.

I have a time capsule/router.  I lost my connection Wireless at home.  Cannot get internet connection to one of my computers/devices in the home.  Help!

    Need to load more information.

Feeding cycle you the entire network... Start up in the correct sequence?

    Modem... Wait 2 min

    TC... Wait 2 min

    Client devices.

    If this does not work...

Tell us everything... what model is the modem? Is this also a router?

What model is the TC... The base A1xxx please?

The fact the main TC on... amber green or flashing led?

Taken in a computer by ethernet that get you internet with wired connection, just all the wireless clients are turned off?

Tell us about such things and we can work from there.

But I suggest you a factory reset as well... Here are the basics.

Start from a factory reset. No files are lost on the drive hard in doing so.

    Universal factory reset

Turning off the TC... That is, remove the power supply cord or the power at the wall outlet, wait 10 seconds... Hold the reset button... be nice... Turn on always even now in reset... and keep holding in for another 10 seconds. You may need assistance because it is difficult to hold in reset and power on. It will show the success quickly flashing led front. Release reset... and wait a few minutes for the TC to reset and return with the factory settings. If the front LED flashes quickly you missed and simply try again. The reset is quite fragile in these... Press the key while it is just click away and not more... I've seen people bend lever or even break. I use a toothpick as a tool.

NB. None of your files on the hard drive of the TC are removed... This simply clears the settings of the router of the TC.

    The installer the TC.

And then redo the configuration of the computer with the Mavericks - Yosemite - ElCapo. (MYELCAP)

    1. the use of very short names... NO APPLE RECOMMENDED names. Without the space and pure alphanumeric characters.

for example TCgen5 for the base station and the name of the TCwifi wireless.

If the problem is using wireless TC24ghz and TC5ghz with fixed channels as it also seems to help stop the nonsense. But it can be tried in the second round. IE, plan on a first and second series of changes to fix this... If all goes well... I note other steps can you tour2.

    2. use all passwords also consistent with 1. but maybe a little longer. IE 8 and 20 characters of mixed cases and numbers... no alphanumeric non-caracteres.

    3. If the TC is router, you can ignore this point. It is only a problem when the TC is bridged.

If ensure that the TC is always the same IP address... you will need to do this on the main router using a dhcp reservation... or a bit more complex setup by using the static IP address in the TC. But it's important for deriving from intellectual property in all directions when MYELCAP do not remember his name for 5 min after a reboot done for poor network management.

    4. check that your share on the computer name does not change... Make sure that it is also in line with the above... short without space and pure alphanumeric... but this change will mess up your TM backup... so be prepared to make a new, full backup. Sorry... keep this one for the second round, if you want to avoid a new backup.

5 attach the TC disc into the computer manually.

In Finder, go, connect to the server in the main menu,

Type in SMB://192.168.0.254 (or whatever ip of TC is that you made static. It's a default router 10.0.1.1 and I encourage people to stick with it unless you know what you're doing).

You can use the name... SMB://TCgen5.local where you replace TCgen5 with your name of TC... local is the default domain of the TC and does not change.

However the names are not so easy as... the IP address nor reliable. They are not at least not in Yosemite. The field can also be a problem if you are not clogged or wireless directly to the Treasury Board.

    6. ensure that IPv6 is set to link-local only in the computer. For example wireless open network, wireless and Advanced preferences / TCP/IP... and the difficulty of IPv6. link-local only. Do the same for the ethernet if you use it.

It is a lot more jiggery pokery, you can try, but the above is a good start... If you still find not reliable... don't be surprised.

You may need to do more work on the computer itself. for example, to reset the NVRAM/PRAM/SMC... helped some people. A clean installation of the operating system is also useful if you update installed.
