  I understand that you were familiar problems of automatic document feeder on your HP Officejet Pro 8500 has more e-All-in-One Printer and after trying to solve the problem, you have found that when you lower the scanner the paper process would stop. I'm happy to hear that you were able to solve this specific problem by giving a bit of a slap to the printer. This certainly isn't a standard troubleshooting step, but one that I saw set a number of different problems!

  In your case, I agree that there is a sensor or roller conflict occurring which is at the origin of the book of power question. This may be due to a defect of the real hardware or a programming problem. In all areas of document feeder, it is not so simple. There are many variables that can affect the document feeder Assembly.   Most programs running under OS X obey the size of default page defined by the Print Center/Printer Setup Utility preferences. A notable exception to this rule, however, is that Microsoft Word, which has its own system to decide what paper size to use.

  Change the default value of letter to A4

  Idea of what should be the default paper size is set in the Normal template. Go to Format > Document, and then press the button layout... . Set the size of A4 paper, and then press OK. Press the button by default... , answer Yes to the dialog box, and then press OK. - Source

  I imagine that this also applies to listings so instead of A4, you'd look for 4 x 6! Please let me know if that does the trick!

  New Officejet Pro 8500 worked more fine for one day on an iMac OS x 10.6.8 running.  Then an unrecognized Capture of image scanning - device problem.  Correction to reinstall the HP software and reset of the printer in system preferences.  But all attempts to run the utility (version 4.8) HP give "currently unavailable" message if connection by USB, Hello or wireless network.  Am able to connect using the ip address of the printer by using the built-in web server and everything looks normal.  Only problem seems to be HP Utility works do not.  Utility HP was working before the problem of scanning.

  Correction of a problem via the option "scrubber" Uninstall found elsewhere in this forum.  Had already done "classic" uninstall and install (from this site, not disk) that has not worked.  Everything works fine now.

  If you did not, please remove the existing printer software > restart > install a new copy of the software full functionality.

  Please specify the exect option that you use to scan from the control panel of the device.

  What exect icon are you clicking after selecting the scam?

  If it is computer, try to update the latest version of the driver and check if the Scan shortcuts Manager do not appear:

  Pretty simple problem.  The cyan and magenta colors do not print.  The cartridges are all fairly new, PLR and lines of supply to the printhead not are not tangled, etc..   I wonder if I need to replace the print head.  The machine is almost 4 years old.

  I understand that when you are printing on your HP Officejet Pro 8500 has more e-All-in-One Printer Color Cyan and Magenta will not print. I would like to help you today with this problem of print quality. Thanks for the troubleshooting steps that you received before reaching out for support, including. Currently, there are a few quality printing additional troubleshooting steps that can be done to resolve this Cyan and Magenta print quality problem. However, if these measures fail to solve this problem of quality then a replacement Cyan and Magenta Printhead will likely be needed. That being said, can I please have you follow the steps below.

  To begin troubleshooting can I please have you click here. Once the support document opens, please follow the steps under four Solution. This includes step 1, step 3, step 4 and step 5 under four Solution. You may need to run the three print head cleans to unclog the printhead system. Attention do not exceed three clean because the ink is used during the process of cleaning print head. After troubleshooting is completed, please print another diagnostic quality report in order to confirm if the quality issue has been resolved.

  If the problem persists, a replacement Magenta and Cyan Printhead would be necessary.

  The print head should be is original printhead Cyan and Magenta HP 940. The part number is C4901A.

  1. press the arrow to the right and select Setup.

  I solved this problem by installing the complete package on a Vista laptop then set up a network folder on the server for the scanned images.  I then unplugged the laptop from the LAN and now I can scan using the front panel of the printer/scanner and images appear on the shared folder of Server 2008.

  If your printer is connected to the network or wireless network, you must access it through the IP address.

  Find the IP address of the printer. You can do this by clicking on the network icon on the front panel of your printer.

  Open Windows explore and type \\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx"where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the ip address of the printer.

  You will see the memory card slot there.

  You can do a "map network drive" to it if you want your printer card slot to be registered permanently.

  Two sides priting has stopped working. Print both sides "checked" but print dialog shows released a face on two sheets or "layout" began to show "long edge binding" as GRAYED OUT. Any ideas please?

  I see that you have options with double-sided printing to your Officejet Pro 8500 at more of your Mac 10.10 system. I can help with that.

  Here's what we will try to solve this problem:

  1. Go to your Apple icon, system preferences, printers and Scanners.
  2. Hold down the command key and click on the image to your printer on the left.
  3. Click on reset printing system.
  4. Go to Applications, utilities, disk utility.
  5. Click "Macintosh HD" on the left.
  6. Click on verify disk permissions. This should take about 10 minutes.
  7. Click on repair disk permissions. This should take about 10 minutes.
  8. Restart your Mac.
  9. Return to the printers and Scanners.
  10. Click on the button "+" at the bottom left.
  11. Select your printer.
  12. Next to the line indicating the use, click on the box and click on the name of your printer in the list.
  13. Click on Add.
  14. Try to print.

  This should allow you to print double-sided.
