HP Officejet Pro 6230: Install printer drivers when no internet connection

I need to install the base for a 6230 OJPro on a PC printer driver that has no Internet connection.

The HP installation wizard insists to request registration information (e.g., zip code), then try to go online to return it to HP.  While the PC is connected to a network, there is no Internet connection, and the installer crashes.

I get a Dr. Watson dialog box (I cancel), and then the Setup Wizard tries to go online (new) to find a solution to the accident.

Is it possible to install the printer driver, but not request registration information and/or jump to go online to register?

I did find a guide the administrator (or similar) which offers etc command line switches for changing the behavior of the installation wizard to do this.

Thank you

@John-Smith,

Thanks for the clarification. I went ahead and installed the basic printing software on my lab and managed to make some changes in the installer so that it automatically opens the online registration. See below:

Open the basic software download, click on the next button until you get the facility agreements and settings, here you have to click on the link that I've highlighted for you, see the image below:

Now once here, please uncheck the option I have pointed out, you can also choose to disable the other options here, I'll leave to you. See the image below:

Once you have unchecked the box to register online, click Next and continue with the installation.

This aid? I look forward to hear from you.

Thank you once again, if you want to say thanks for my effort to help, click on the "Thumbs up" to give me a "Bravo".

I have had nothing but issues with trying to keep the installed Officejet.  Once I installed it after several attempts as it works very well.  But that's the thing. Just got a HP Laptop back for repair due to a hard drive failare.  Which means that I now reinstall the printer.

I bought 4 systems over the last three months with running Windows 7 with the CPU Haswell.  Each of them came from original PC and the digital storm.

There is no reason I should have as many issues over the past three years with the installation of the printer and keep the drivers installed.

I know that the solution would be to use the built-in Web server and configure a static IP address. However because I have now 5 systems with AC wireless network adapters. I have to use the new XFinity Cisco 3939 2 gateway router.

With on my Linksys.  This means that because the firmware they use I can not put a static IP address, that would probably solve most of the questions.  It is because of the gateway which need to have Auto value chains not manually the value 1-6 or 11.  In the SAP, there is a way to adjust the manual channels as well as the implementation of the static IP address. But I don't know what the consequences would be.

I would really like a complete informative PDF manual on all parameters.

When I try to configure certain protocols everything seems to match the system but when I hit OK I get an invalid error.

Without the ability to go through it with a HP technician a manual would be my first choice.

However, $99 for a a phone call on one $125 for another 8600 or 8610 seems unnecessary.  So if you can find a complete manual (not the single line I found online) I would sincerely appreciate it.  Please email me with a response of some kind solution.  Thank you very much.

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8600, HP printer wizard installs not when the software is installed from the CD

HP Officejet Pro 8600 e printer all in one

    Windows 7

I had Assistant printer installed and working on my computer at least a year, then there was an update and it no longer works.

I uninstalled the device and the software and reinstalled both on-site and directly from the CD without success.

The only error I get is when I start everything first install it and there is a red "x" next to the update of windows.

The installation process ends, the computer will recognize the printer and I am able to print but I have no control any function because none of these options in the wizard for the printer are turned on.  They are all grayed out.   The most important thing I need is the archiving of received faxes.

Someone else in my family had the same problem, but was able to reinstall from the Web site and doesn't have any more problems.

    Thanks for any help.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 more printer

I just bought the printer more Officejet Pro 8600 & installed without any problems, but it doesn't connect to the internet/web services? It is connected to my home network & print etc, but when I try to activate the internet according to the guidelines, it searches for a while with "Enabling Web Services (ePrint & Apps)" on the screen & then reads "Web Services (ePrint & Apps) could not be activated.

When I tried to activate the web service during the instalation, reading pages as if she did not go off I would go to a page to download the necessary drivers but this never happened and the only thing I could do was to select the button 'Next', who finished the installion without the work of internet/web service.

  • HP OFFICEJET PRO 6230: Best way to change the settings WIFI on HP OFFICEJET PRO 6230

    Hi all

Just after some advice about this printer. It's the printer be mobile , so it can be taken with the Member of staff, connected to wifi where they are and then the group they present to can do impressions of him through their ipads (via AirPrint).

This all works well 'in House' connected to our wireless network. Have set up the printer wireless via the software installed on their laptop computer (with a USB cable to transfer the settings of the printer), but y at - it an EASY way to change the SSID and password wifi when they are there in the area? I know you can hold down the button "wifi" on the printer for three seconds (until the wireless flashes) then hold down the button "WPS" about to access/reuter and they have a link but it's only if WPS is available and that the staff member can access the reuter/access point.

They will have their laptops with them and USB cable in order to re - set the SSID and password, but seems a bit lengthy to go by "connect a new printer" for each site they visit. Is the right way to do it or there at - it another way 'over easy' I forgot. I guess also here the printer remembers SSID/passwords so that there be set up a time for a given location and then will be "auto-connect" if they come back? Is this correct?

Any help on this is much appreciated.

    See you soon,.

    Andy

Not the printer that you want to do.  Here is the Guide of the user for you to read on your wireless options.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/product/HP-OfficeJet-Pro-6230-ePrinter-series/5390318/model/5390319/manuals/

You will need to run the configuration each time to connect software.  You could try Direct another wireless to connect to the printer.  You need a printer with a Panel for configuration complete front so you can easily change the SSID.

Whatever it is, everyone will have to load the software in order to use the printer.  It can automatically connect, but do not count on it.

  • OfficeJet Pro 6230: Officejet Pro 6230 continous (not of paper) paper jam error

As soon as the printer powers on it the ink carrier Wizz backward real quick (as he struggles to move) and then gives me a paper jam error (the resume light flashes and error appears on my screen). He did the same thing when I try to print anything (including the status report page).

When I up the access panel upward (power on), the carrier of ink isn't even move to ink cartridges which can be changed. I try to move with force, but it does not move (if I use more strength, somethings will break). Ink is a bit new, so I don't know it still has ink in there.

    The steps I've tried:

plugged the power supply into the wall outlet

    roller cleaning

THERE IS NO PAPER or PAPER PIECES BETWEEN ROLLERS (I checked like 20 times)

    reset the printer

There is a large black gear coupled to a white average speed on the left side near the bottom of the printer. I manually drove the speed by pressing (rotation) of North (or forward or to the rear of the printer) for a few seconds and once I did that. the ink carrier was able to move as it's supposed to, and I could see the ink. but once the power is back on, the carrier of ink was in the locked position and fights again and gives me the paper jam error.

I don't have really any troubleshooting documents on the CV online on how to fix a jammed media of ink and clearing paper jams, so I'm out of options.

    It is plugged into USB

The main problem is the paper jam error.

I don't know if the stuck carrier of ink is the cause.

  • OfficeJet Pro L7590 can print but not scan

My printer (Officejet Pro L7590) can print and copy correctly, but the scan function - that has worked well at the same time - has just up and stop working, and my attempts to solve the problem simply go round.

    • When I try to scan using the button start scan on the printer, I get an error message saying 'no scan options '.
    • When I try to open the solution Center, it is said that he cannot run because the installation is not complete.
    • Uninstalling and reinstalling the software (latest version, which is three years, downloaded from the HP website) do not work. The software seems to go through the process of installation very well, but crashes on the stage finish ("product configuration"). Eventually it times out.
    • Once in this case, the installer downloads a supposed solution of the HP Web site. He told me that it is fixing the problem and asks me to restart the computer, saying it will continue after the restart. After I restart, the procedure does not continue, and the problem is not fixed - all the behaviors I describe above are still occurring.
    • Also downloaded one file with other solutions supposed to this question. They do not work. For the most part, they are variations on "run the setup software again", preceded by various other measures. However, when I do this, it re-not installing - it is a completely different window, and if I try to go back to the installation procedure, he refuses, telling me the software is already installed. (And yet when I try to open the solution Center, he always tells me it is not installed.)
    • Tonight is the third time I tried to troubleshoot it. On three occasions, I just gave up in frustration after a few variations of the cover above.
    • I'm this end =><= to="" going="" all="" office="" space="" on="" this="" printer="" and="" getting="" a="" new="" one="" based="" on="" the="" abhp="" principle="" -="">Anything But HP.

I can't emphasize enough that it worked in the past and this basis still printing very well (with the exception of some strange problems with certain PDF files), but scanning has broken since my last round of hardware upgrades and refuses to be fixed.

It's incredibly frustrating. Someone just make it work with minimal BS, as he has done before.

I realize, this is a follow up very, very late, but apparently the problem has something to do with the 32-bit version of Windows 7 running. I recently installed the 64 bit version and now have no problem with any HP software.

Well, except that sometimes he asked my permission to do an update then fails to actually download the update (I get the same "could not connect to content url" error message that many others reported here).

Other than that, which is slightly annoying, but doesn't really affect what anyone, everything works fine now.
