HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium copy Question

I just bought a HP OfficeJet 8600 Premium.  I have legal paper in tray 2 and stationery in a status bar.  It can automatically select what size paper he needs or do I need to change it every time I have copy these items?

Hi Vonnie52,

If you happen to run across the following problem with tray 2 not detected on your Officejet printers, try the following steps that should help solve the problem.

(1) turn off the printer

(2) pull tray 2 completely out.

(2) turn on the printer without 2nd tray

(3) turn off the printer

(4) install 2nd tray

(5) turn on the printer

Set the default tray to make Copies:

Try the steps I provided below and let me know if this worked for you. My current setup for premium 8600 goes like this.

Impression of the PC: Tray 2 is set as default Type on paper: plain paper

Copy of the printer: Tray 2 is set as default Type on paper: plain paper.

Tray 1 contains photo paper, tray 2 contains plain paper.

This way when I print from the PC it always pull out tray 2 unless I select manually 1 tray to print photos. The same for Copies, when I make a copy he always starting from tray 2, unless I manually select to pull from Tray 1.

Tray 2 as the default value for the copy configuration steps

1. press on copy

2. tap on settings

3 change the Type of paper in paper-regular

4 change Select tray 2 tray

5 scroll and select set as new default.

Press home to return to the home screen. Press copy, tap Settings and check if Select tray is always tray 2. The current version of the firmware on my printer is CLP1CA1136AR. You can check your firmware version by printing the printer status page in the Setup Menu.

I bought this printer so that I could load my UPS package labels into a bar of tasks and plain paper in the other.

I loaded the labels into Tray 1 (according to instructions) and paper in tray 2.

I have everything works fine except that I can't understand how to specify tray 2 as the tray to make copies of. In respect of the COPY > SETTINGS > SET SELECT only Tray 1 is displayed.

    (2) printing these UPS labels from tray 2 seems to work very well. Is there a reason why this would be bad?

    Thank you!

Connected by ethernet cable, he downloaded the new version of the firmware (... 1136BR).

That fixed it! Tray 2 is now an option under settings to copy.

The only disappointing is that I asked about a new version of the firmware in my first question... but it took a whole week to get this resolved... and I had little to get to the answer myself!

In any case, now it is fixed and seems to work very well.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 Premium: When copying from the plateau the copier will print only 1/8 of page, then stop.

Copier is towards the top sometimes & don't print that page of bucket 1/8, Athens he spits as if this one ends. Have unplugged the power cord & reconnected. Ran scans printhead & alignment. Off all night. All the ink levels are good. Still has not corrected it.

Print an entire page of the screen of the computer without problem. Printing problem just go flat.

    Hi @Wendy-needshelp,.

Thanks for joining the Forums of HP Support for a solution to your problem copying.

I understand that you use a HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium e-all-in-one with a computer and Windows 7 when you copy from sometimes flat it will only copy and print 1/8 of the page. I would like to help.

You mentioned having unplugged and replugged the power cord. This is something that could be done. If you can, I reset the power and try to connect the printer directly to a wall outlet, if you currently use a protector or electrical surge extention. Sometimes the surge protectors can limit the amout of the power supplied to the printer.

There was an update firmware released in April, which can help your printer. You can download the update of the firmware and run it from your computer to install it on the printer. You can go to the HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911g_n Firmware download page by clicking here.

Please let me know if that solves the problem, or if you need assistance.

I try to print from Tray 1 cover. How to make adjustments so that it can print or is there a store bypass on this printer that I can't find.

The sales representative told me when I bought this product I was able to print stock coverage.

    Help!

You shouldn't have any problems with the documents in your list. You did to be sure you choose the correct paper type before printing? The product can capture not paper if the type in the tray and paper format does not match the size settings and type in the print driver. Heres how to check the paper type is defined:

    1. Return to the document that you were trying to print when the problem occurred.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium ADF analysis convex/Fisheye results

Not only do I have to deal with random vertical lines on the digitization of documents in format pdf, I was out buying this AIO believing that I will be able to scan above 300 DPI using the ADF. Why is this NOT advertised? I also notice that the ADF scan results are tilted, so I have to manually turn the resulting page (and this always leads to fuzzy edges because of anti-aliasing). I read where the use of the 'PDF' indexable parameter will straighten the scans, but the text is rendered evil and statements blurred and faded. Other than that, the real printer/copier works great; the part of scan is terrible (and that was the only reason I bought this printer).

Now, my current complaint is when you scan a document with horizontal lines, these lines are not only not right, they are curved (like a fisheye effect or the lines are convex in shape). I tested several ways; I open the pdf file with Photoshop and after recovery of the document, I use the tool rule to mark both ends of the line. When I look at the center of the line, it is not in accordance with either of the end points. It's like the center of the page was pushed toward the inside of the lines causing a bit for not being straight.

Everyone has noticed this or know what I can do to fix this? It seems that this printer has many problems with scanning.

    Hello Shan-Dysigns,

It seems that you have many questions related scanning with your HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium, they will have vertical lines, jump of twisted lines are curved, etc..

This document from HP: vertical stripes, lines or streaks in the Copies, faxes or Scans mainly covers the vertical lines and food issues.

To seek to solve looks curved to the scans, just appear like that during the ADF or flat glass in this way as well?

I would like to allows you to check the updates of the firmware of the printer: get the latest Firmware and updates, so please make sure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet: questions when it is connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power should help explain why.

Also when starting printer error message - cannot send faxes? (Fax complete info)

It is a wireless setup. Phone line is AT & T U-Verse.

    Hi bunkyb43 ,

    Welcome to the HP Forums.

I see that the printer takes a while to connect to the printer once the computer has been restarted or powered.

I've seen this problem before and I could solve the problem by simply ensuring that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a bar/power strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer for example, but it is intended for HP products in general. Please click the link which explains the problems when connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power.

Once the printer is connected to the wall outlet, please use the power button to do a proper feeding cycle.  This will make a semi be able to reset the printer.

I'll also give you a document ensuring that the fax settings are correct. Please click the link for "Cannot send or receive faxes".

Write me back if you have any questions or concerns.

    See you soon,.

    Thanks for the response back.

I would at this point uninstall all previously installed printer software. If you need assistance, here is a document that can help - uninstalling the software of the printer (Windows).

Once the software is uninstalled, use the HP printer installation wizard to help install the software. This tool will search and find the version of the drivers and the printer software up-to-date.

    Welcome to the forums @conradnonnon

I understand that you are curious to see if the premium 8600 Officejet prints without the lower plate. Well, you're lucky because the 8600 Officejet Plus is the same that the premium, the exception has no additional substantive IBC.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium: Tray Lock worked until the upgrade of Windows 10

Since a year now, I have 1 locked drawer for our book of receipt only, easier than all the other printing set to automatically select the default tray to tray 2 (Tray 1 is locked and all)! But I tried the upgrade of Windows 10, that was an epic fail and my cpomputer was sent to the doctor for the day. When I came back I had to basically start over with a new computer. I have everything back to be better than before, but THIS problem! Receipts in Tray 1 and my payment software its configured for Tray 1 specifically for receipts. All other default things that select and always tray 2. I can't anything out of tray 1. HOWEVER, my boss's computer is on a network with it and when it prints a receipt from his computer he properly dispences Tray 1. Yet.

    Hi @L2thaJ,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you are unable to print correctly on tray 1 on your HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium e-all-in-one printer. I will definitely do my best to help you.

Is the other computer Windows 10 institutions, who works for printing on tray 1?

It looks like Windows 10 and the software you are using does not work with the printer driver, what might happen.

You are able to print to Tray 1, when printing from MS Word or Notepad?

Please ensure that you use the latest printer driver for your printer.

Download and run The printer Installation Wizard. The HP printer installation wizard detects automatically the best print available for your HP printer driver. It is only available for Windows 7, 8 and 10.

Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting. I can't wait to hear strings attached good luck!
