HP Officejet Pro 8620: Reset HP 8620 FULL

I spent hours trying to fix this printer.  at this point, I want to just do a FULL reset of the printer (not only the factory settings) and start again, but I can't figure out how to do this.

The problem I had with...

My printer connects to the network no problem, blue wireless connected lamp is turned on, internet connection, confirmed on-screen.  However, when I try to connect to the printer when installing wireless, it is not found.

I've set up via USB and tried to 'convert Wireless' using the installer, but that does not work either.

I have had this printer for several months.  It used to work very well, but then one day stopped working over wireless (no network changes, no hardware changes, no change of software... just out of the blue).  Now I am unable to find a solution.

I want to start all over again, new installation, etc, etc.  BUT I CAN'T UNDERSTAND HOW TO DO A FULL/HARD RESET ON THIS PRINTER!

I am so frustrated with this thing.  I'm about to junking it and move to another brand, because it's ridiculous.

The printer works like magic again.  -_-

I wonder if, perhaps, he had something to do with my recent upgrade to Windows 10 - maybe a new Firewall setting or something like Microsoft 'fixed' in one of its latest updates.

Fortunately, I refrained from throwing out the window last week (I was discussing it seriously) the printer!

When I first installed this printer about 2 months ago I had a program on my computer that all I had to do was click on scan, difficulty settings, and then select scan and it should scan.  Somehow, I don't have this option anymore.  I want to be able to sit at my desk and control the scan from there.  What should I do?

    Hello @Doris422!

Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

I would be more then happy to help you with regard to the analysis of the computer.  The program you are talking about seems much analysis of the HP.  The first thing I recommend is to search the Windows 8 for HP Scan computer.  The best way to do this is to open your Start Menu and start typing the HP scanning.  The computer will automatically find it and it should appear as the first option.  Open it and see if you can start a new search.

If this does not happen and HP Scan is not the case in sight so I recommend you to uninstall the HP software. Once the uninstall is complete, it would be wise to perform a cleanup of the computer disk. A disk cleanup will improve the performance of the computer and remove the temporary files that may cause problems during the installation of the software. Once disk cleanup you must restart the computer and reinstall the HP software.  The software that you re - install will include scanning HP.

To uninstall the HP software, click here: uninstall the HP software

  • OfficeJet Pro 8620: problem with ink

Hello. I have nothing else to the HP printers used in my life using the computer - more than 25 years! I bought a new Officejet Pro 8620 2 years. I also bought cartridges refilled at the same time as my father died and I would need to use the printer a lot. Unfortunately, I bought ink another 3 times for this printer, when printing somewhere near 100 pages ALTOGETHER since the purchase. Problem is the printer keeps saying cartridge is not HP and damaged - should replace the HP cartridges. I've NEVER had a problem before using reloaded cartridges. Why change now? Am very close to get back to using my old computer Win XP and more old HP all-in-one printer. I have 3, and none of them has NEVER given any problems.

Looking for help on this. Have always had confidence in HP before - don't want to lose that now. Last cartridges were new HP, but still having the same problems. Suppliers of ink have been highly evaluated with excellent reviews. Warranty expired a year ago. Haven't had extended warranty because, as I said, never had a problem with HP printers to more than 25 years.

In addition, cellular internet very limited - and not (!) reliable. 50 miles of the city.

Yes, I learned a LOT over the weekend. First of all, I ordered a few inkplicity.com ink. Am curious about their ink, with their 1 year warranty. Shortly after ordering, I contacted Fuzoo, who then asked me to photograph both sides of the chip. I had no idea of the chip was removable. And actually, I see on the YoYoInk cartridges that the chip is glued in place. Then, I saw a few chips ink auto reset for sale online. And then began to find a lot of links and messages and articles on the chips of HP and the problems associated with them. Like my old printers were about 2000 or so, I had never met the problems associated with the current chips.

Now, Fuzoo has graciously agreed to replace not only the Magenta faulty cartridge (which has their 'old' piece), but will send a full order before, which was black (2) and a set of color inks. Can't get much better than this! So it would seem that I'm no longer need an explanation of why this happens - it's all about HP and their need to force their customers (who FREELY CHOOSE to buy their printers) in the purchase of HP ONLY cartridges.

It is a free country that is stuffed with capitalism. You'd be hard-pressed to get into any grocery store and NO search of generic items just alongside their counterparts in brand and usually for less money. You have car trouble? Generic (non - OEM) parts are available, as well as a lot of rooms refurbished. HP should remember their place in the grand scheme of things, or they will go the way of many other electronics companies. Trying to force customers to pay more for ink is bad. ... So this would increase the cost of the printers in the first place? Yes, probably. I was always ready to buy quality products when I could afford to, and HP printers had always been reliable but also easy to use. With this printer, I swore to the dang thing a lot more that I used it.

Please, ch, make the message and ease up trying to railroad customers. Even us loyal customers for a long time "' will leave! Don't forget, we are customers of HP by "choice"!

Problem is now solved. Thank you all for your comments!

    Hello

I'm trying to implement the wireless on my new HP Officejet Pro 8620. Hi @Poppy123,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I see that you are unable to configure the wireless on your printer HP Officejet Pro 8620. I'd be happy to help you and don't forget to come back to this thread and check "Accept as Solution", if I have successfully helped solve you the problem. If you want to say 'Thank you' to my effort to help, click on the "thumbs up" to give me a Kudos.

Looks like you are trying to connect the printer to a 5.0 GHz network. The printer cannot see or connect to the 5.0 GHz network. If you have a double router broadband, the 2.4 GHz network. The name of each network must be unique.

    • What is the model number of your router?
    • What type of encryption are you helping? HP recommends WPA/WPA 2.
    • Is updated firmware on the router?
    • Depending on the version of Windows you have, click here to find the update of the firmware of the printer.
    • Make sure you have 802.11 g active.
    • Don't hide your SSID (network name).
    • The network name is case sensitive, enter it in upper case to the printer if necessary.
    • Move the printer closer to the router if the signal is weak.

If the problem persists, perform a factory reset on the router, reconfigure the wireless again. Before you configure the wireless to the printer, to restore the default settings of the network and do a hard reset.

    • The front panel of the printer menu, select Setup-> network-> Restore network defaults.

    Now, do a hard reset:

    • Let the printer and disconnect the printer cable and the wall socket for 60 seconds.
    • Reconnect the power cable to the output of the printer and the wall, and not a surge protector. This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.
    • Make sure that the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet (do not use a bar or a surge protector). This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.
    • Now, try to connect the printer wireless again.

Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting. I can't wait to hear strings attached good luck! :

I just purchased another PC and connected to our 8620 by WiFi. All other devices in my house, are now, impossible to connect to the 8620 by WiFi; It will not even respond to a PING. Any ideas why the new PC usurped the printer - and how to make it available to other devices again?

I have a brand new 8620 and I use Windows 7. My printer prints a few PDFs but not most other PDF documents. I am using Acrobat Reader XI. The printer will print from MS Office.

    HELP, please!

Hello! Welcome to the @lmel forums

I have a few ideas that come to mind, I read the issue you're having with printing of PDF files. They are here!

    1. try to resave the PDF files that do not print and then try printing again.

    2. update of Adobe:

Select help - search for updates. If a new update is available, it installs automatically.
Once installed, you can restart a computer.
Then try to print the PDF file.

    http://helpx.Adobe.com/Acrobat/KB/troubleshoot-PDF-printing-Acrobat-Reader.html

    3. run the print and scan the doctor. This diagnostic tool will check for all conflicts that may be causing the problem. The tool will show you a report at the end. If there is a problem that the tool could not fix, you will notice it in the results.

    4. uninstalling the printer software

    Restart the PC

Reinstall the printer: HP Officejet Pro 8620 e-all-in-One Printer series full feature software and drivers

That should do the trick! Keep me abreast of the results!

  • HP Officejet Pro 8620: Selection easy printing on tray 1 or 2

We have an Officejet Pro 8620 with extra paper tray. Tray 1 for Virgin paper, tray 2 for the paper with the logo of the company.

Now, when we want to print to tray 2, we reject Tray 1, whereas, after a few attempts the software switches to tray 2 and printing begins.

It is possible, before printing, to change the setting in the software, select printing for tray 2. But it's pretty heavy.

We want an easy way to select printing for Tray 1 or the tiroir2. For example, as seen in other environments, so that we can choose to print on:

-HP Officejet Pro 8620 (Tray 1) or

-HP Officejet Pro 8620 (tray 2)

This could be seen as a separate printers. How can we achieve this?

Change the setting every time, is not a good option. In addition, we have other software that we want to configure so that they automatically print to the correct bin.

    Thank you!

I have looked at the manual and don't see instructions/options for this.

Hello there @Frannia welcome to the forums!

I took a page from my scanner HP (on a Windows PC), there should be the ability to change the type of file to a TIFF file if the analysis of every day is selected. See what I had highlighted in yellow below. Ignore the red arrow to scan in PDF format.

Also ensure the full functionality driver and the software is installed. If the driver is required, click on this link, select the operating system must be installed on the printer and pulled in and download it here:

  • HP Officejet Pro 8620: HP Officejet Pro 8620 - problem with wireless connection w/computer

    Hi all

I recently bought the HP Officejet Pro 8620 and I have problems connecting with my computer.

I used the Setup Wizard to connect the printer to the wireless network of my University, and when it's over, the blue light of connectivity remains a solid blue and the screen says it is connected, which is great. However, when I use the HP Officejet Pro 8620/software of connection instillation, I always get the message,

"-L' the entered IP address is either incorrect, or it is another wireless network that has the same name as your network." Please ensure that your printer has this IP or enter the correct address below and click on search. Also, confirm that you wireless network is unique. »

I did somehow on the printer IP address is copied 100% exactly the same with the points and the message still appears and my printer is unable to connect with my computer. As another option, it says that I can use the host name to find the printer as well. However, the same thing happens. I'll type in the name of host by number and letter by letter, and again, it does not find my printer. In addition, there is only 1 network name so I know I hit the right one. Being a student, it is very important that I get things printed off the coast, it is essential for me to solve this problem. Also, I spent a lot of money on it so I need to work properly.

It should be easy to communicate that it gives me all the necessary information right in front of me, but as I said, it was not easy or fun experience. I don't really know how IP work addresses but I tried to use all the only thing that I can find that is relevant. From now on, I have to record everything in PDF format on my computer, send me unwanted, printing documents download them on my Galaxy Note 4, connect my phone to the printer using the wireless HP Direct on the Officejet and then finally I can print my things. Yes, it works like this, but it is also a concern and I shouldn't do that. I realize that I can't buy a USB link cable to connect my printer to my computer but I don't want to ride the 2 every time I want to print.

(Also something to note, since I'm on WiFi from the University, I don't have access to the router of course so I don't know if this is a contributing factor in why things do not work).

If anyone has suggestions/advice/answers on the issue, please let me know. Thank you!

    Hello @Plz_Help.

Welcome to the Forums of HP's Support. I understand that you have a problem connecting to your computer and your printer via Wifi from the University. I would like to help.

The only thing that really POPs, is that you use the network of universities. This can cause a lot of problems.

Question: When you connect your computer or Note 4 on the network, should a pop-up saying you accept the terms of service? If so, this would prevent an air of challenge the printer properly connected to the network.

If you had access to the router I would recommend checking the network connection by typing the printers IP address in a web browser. If you can access the printers webserver shipped, then, the connection is fine. If you can't you need to reset the router. Of course, you can do this.

Also, here's something to consider: If the printer successfully on the network, everyone else on the network will have access to your printer.

A USB connection will be the most reliable and safe way to go. Another thing, why send your rating 4 print jobs? Why not save the PDF files and connect the computer to the wireless network direct printers? In this way, you can print from your computer.

Sorry I can't give you a solution ' to do this and it will work. You must convince the universities IT department to get things related.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8620: HP OfficeJet Pro 8620 button walk / stop keep flashing

    Condition:

My Officejet Pro 8620 is about 1 1/2 years and all of a sudden it does not. (FYI: it worked again yesterday). My printer has been connected to 3 PCs in my house wireless, there is another printer (HP LaserJet Pro M401dw) in the same room connected to wifi even. Printer is plugged directly into the outlet. No attempt to replace the cartridge or install the new firmware recently.

    Location:

This morning, I saw the power button flashes, in an unusual way, it flickered at a rapid pace, about 3 - 4 times per second. When I try to print something, the printer has not been to see the in my list of printers, so I try to touch the screen of the printer, but nothing happened. When I pressed the power button, it stopped blinking, and the HP logo was shown on the screen with a blue bar underneath. Then it was stuck there for hours. Tried the hard reset, use the tools of the firmware, connect my printer to my pc using cable, but my printer is not displayed on my pc (it is not detected by the pc, no new feature and nothing appear in "Printers and devices" when the cable is connected to my PC).

So I unplugged the printer from the power source and wait a few hours, then reconnect the printer to the socket. The printer has started again with the power button / stop light up and the screen showing the logo of HP with a blue bar below the logo. But this time, after a few minutes, the screen is off, all buttons blink (home, help, back, wireless & power button) at a rate (about 3 - 4 times per second) fast, and after a minute or two, home, help, "back" button and stop brighter wireless (only flashing light up), but the power button keeps blinking. All the buttons and the display do not respond, press the power button / stop is unable to turn off the printer.

I tried all possible troubleshooting methods suggested on this forum, but nothing to solve it, I hope someone in this forum can help me with this, thanks in advance.

    Hi @DenieceNg,

It seems that the problems are on the increase, and maybe this could be related to a hardware problem with the printer.

Here is the document of support for the power problems - printer does not turn on.

If these problems persist, I would contact HP Technical Support because they may have additional resources that could help lead to a solution. What you can do, is to use the following link to create yourself a file number, then call and it can help to expedite the appeal process:

Step 1. Open the link: www.hp.com/contacthp/

Step 2. Enter the product number or select Auto detection

Step 3. Scroll up to "still need help? Fill out the form to select your contact options.

Step 4. Scroll down and click on: contact HP options - click Get phone number

File number and phone number are displayed.

I appreciate what may be a simple question so apologies in advance!   I've been printing for a while but now need to print directly from my laptop without using the wireless connection wireless.   Please can you advise how to do this?  I tried to plug in an ethernet cable but it doesn't seem to work, and although I tried to look online guides, that I can't find an answer that works in EEM.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

Thank you for using the HP Forums.

You can use a USB cable to connect directly to your printer.  (do not connect the USB cable first! Read more on how to add a new printer (connection))

You will need to install the software to add the extra connection.

Assuming that you have installed the FULL features software, follow these steps to add the USB connection:

    1. click on start. Programs > HP > HP Officejet Pro 8620 > click on the printer

(you can also click the icon of the printer on the desktop)

    2. This will bring up the HP printer Assistant

    3. go to "Tools" > Device Setup & Software

("Note: this is not available in step 1: Device Setup and software")

    4. connect a new printer.

    5. DO NOT connect the USB cable until you are prompted to do so by the software!

Once installed, the USB should be the default printer.  If you want to print using the wireless again, you will need to select the correct printer with wireless as a result.

    Hope that helps!

  • Office Pro 8620: My Officejet Pro 8620

My 8620 Pro Officejet does not appear in the devices and printer page so that I can set as the default printer.  I appears in the Device Manager page.  I tried to uninstall and then reinstall using the disc can with it, but it does not work!  Help!

    @bobcast

You should have better luck using the software of full functionality of the Web site of the printer Support page.

E-all-in-one printer, HP Officejet Pro 8620 range

If you have recently migrated to Windows 10, you will want to remove the existing printer software > restart and sign > download and install the full feature software > restart and sign

  • OfficeJet Pro 8620: Officejet 8620 Webscan Pro via the power supply produces corrupt PDF. Yes, I'm serious...

    The environment:

Network connected HP Officejet Pro 8620 all-in-one.

Workstation running Windows Pro 64-bit 10.

Internet Explorer browser, Adobe Acrobat Reader DC as default PDF reader.

Full functionality of the HP printing software is NOT installed.

Using the feature of webscan and the automatic document feeder, I scan the document with the default settings for a PDF file (although I have experienced with other parameters).  The scan works very well, and the new page opens with the displayed document.  If I scroll the document by using the wheel on my mouse to halfway through the volute, a window pops up saying "Year Internal Error Occurred" after what I have to hit OK.  I can save the document in PDF format, and as long as I open it with Acrobat Reader DC, it will show.  If I try to open it with another drive (for example Microsoft Edge, I get a blank page).  I tried to create a new PDF by printing it in Acrobat Reader to a PDF generator (generator PDF PrimoPDF and Microsoft), but in both cases, it says "the file could not be printed" and "no pages selected to print.

The scenario above also happens if I scan a multi-page document.  HOWEVER, if I scan a single page document with the original on the glass, the scenario above does NOT.  It creates a perfectly usable PDF.

So... to eliminate Adobe and or IE as the culprits, I put the PDF reader by default Microsoft Edge and launched the webscan using Microsoft Edge also.  When I scanned it using the automatic document feeder, it fed the document, acted like he was treating it, and the result was a WHITE page.

The printer firmware is up to date.  I tried the old turn it off, unplug the unit, wait a while and turn it on again the solution, but that made no difference.

I searched the forums and see reports that correspond to what I see.  Overview of all what could happen here would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hi @exfordguy

Welcome to the Forums of HP's Support.

In General, the WebScan function is intended for diagnostic purposes and is not quite as functional as the software. If you choose not to install the full feature software and driver, you can use Windows Fax and Scan.

If the printer has Web Services enabled, you can also go into the applications menu and use the scan to e-mail.

Honestly, I see no reason why you are scanning via WebScan when there are better options available.
