HP OfficePro 8600 paper stuck tray

The paper tray seems to have in the open at an angle and I can't get in or out.  Is there a way to disassemble the printer or another way to solve the problem?

Thanks for your help!

I turned on the printer it is thin, made a lot of agitation and eventually managed to pull the tray!

How can I tell the printer to select tray 2 paper letter?

    Thank you.

I see that you are having problems with the 2nd set, this can be confusing. You will need to go into the actual printer settings and change TRAY 2 as default. On the touch screen, select:

    1. click on the configuration Menu
    2. click on Preferences
    3. default tray
    4. Select tray 2

After selecting this option, and then try to print and see how it goes. Don't forget with the 2nd plateau, its not installed with printer drivers, so you have to put all the letter paper in TRAY 2 (as you already have). Any other type of paper (legal, envelopes, etc.) will still go into Tray 1.

Let me know if this can help, thank you.

  • M277dw MFP: MFP M277dw Constant paper jam tray

We had our M277dw MFP for less than a year and know almost constant paper jam tray.  Looks like there is a problem with a roller, and when he finally makes contact, she folds the paper a bit and jams. We are then asked to add paper, then we remove the stuck piece and then he said: 'cleaning up' for jams a little and again. We tried different papers and nothing seems to help. Y at - it a setting that we can do? Thank you!

Please try to clean the rollers in Tray 1 and 2. Also, just remove all the papers and set the paper on the tray guides.

  • questions of 8600 premium second tray

When you try to set up my second tray of 8600 premium, no matter what I do, the second try works the first time that I put in place and then returned to a plateau.  In order to make it work as I put in place after the first time, I have to pull the tray one inch or so, then she will draw from the top two.  I did everything what the forum said to get two tray to stay in place, but he won't.

I have plain paper in tray two and envelopes into the tray one.  It works as soon as it and then it's the second time, he starts shooting a plate still for the study of pain.  Pulliing on about an inch tray keep the connection so it will draw to try two, but I shouldn't do that. What is an issure of software or a hardware problem?

I turned off the machine, unplugged, taken on the two set, put back in, separates the two tray printer, succeeded him and plugged the printer back in and turned back on and it works once after that as yet.

I paid the extra to have a second tray so that I could make envelopes without having to change the media.  This seems to have been a mistake.  What is the problem with this printer that the second tray does not work as it should? What is the point of having the second tray if it does not work.

Hi, use the option of locking the tray to lock Tray 1.

    1. make sure that the 8600 is on.
    2. tap (right arrow), select Configuration, tap preferences and then select default tray or tray locking.
    3. click on OK or apply after changing settings of the desired tray.

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8630: Trouble legal paper in tray 2

    Hello!

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer... two problems, I need help. I always use 8.5 x 11 cardstock in Tray 1 and 8.5 x 14 paper in tray 2.

    1. when I print a legal document of the size - and have the setting of the printer, the Auto Select value (for what bin pull) - he STILL has pull Tray 1, not tray 2 (which is the legal document size. I gave up to have auto-select the correct tray, so whenever I choose manually legal under paper size - and tray 2 in order to make it work. How to make this work correctly without haivng to make these changes? Now that's what I'm doing...

    First... Printer Setup/layout page/advanced/legal

    Then... (Printer setting) / Paper Source/tray 2 paper/quality.

    2. my BIGGEST problem is that media type or tray 2 paper type will allow me only to choose "Plain paper" not cardboard. I print color documents full page - so it makes a HUGE difference in quality when I set it to cardstock vs regular paper (to the title of best in the print quality option). It allows me to make this selection to Tray 1 to plain paper, but not for legal reason any.

Subsequent procedure registration to the first question, if I change the Media Type of cardstock, I get an error saying...

"There are one or more conflicting settings. One of the conflicting settings is:

    Input tray - tray 2

    Media Type - cardstock

And then it makes me go back to plain paper for it to print. But when I go on tray 1/letter Sized paper-it works very well. I put legal paper in Tray 1 and tried this way-(legal size, tray 1, cardstock, better) and it prints correctly. BUT, I want it to work with tray 2.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

    Lauren

    Hey @higgybears,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I see that you have some problems with printing on cardstock from tray 2 of your 8630 e-all-in-one printer Officejet. The reason why you are having problems is that TRAY 2 is designed to be able to handle only for plain paper. HP recommends using only of plain paper in the second bin. If you pass the paper in Tray 1 when you change jobs, you should not have problems with the software.

Please let me know if that solves your problems. If so, please click on accept solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. The two icons are below this post.

  • HP 9500 win 7 custom paper size tray 1

I have 12 x 18 paper loaded in Tray 1.  The control panel is correctly set.  Our office has a mixture of windows and Mac and have always been able to print on paper 12 x 18, in the #1 tray.  I recently bought a new computer running Win 7 64 bit.  The driver "HP Color LaserJet 9500 PCL 6" of windows does not support custom paper sizes.  I tried to create forms under the print server properties, but custom sizes do not appear when I'm in my applications.  5 PCL and PCL 6 UPD pilots paper 12 x 18 in option, but when I use these drivers of the printer fails to pull the good paper from Tray 1.  With Acrobat, it defaults to 8-1/2 x 11 paper and prints a second sheet indicating:

    PCL XL error

    Subsystem: VECTOR

    WARNING: IllegalMediaSize

With AutoCad, using the UPD and printing on paper 12 x 18, control panels flashes and asks me to load the A3 paper into Tray #1.  Change the size of the margin in my application doesn't seem to help.

I'm an architect and paper 12 x 18 is essential.  Thanks in advance.

After exhausting any permutation of the driver options, I reluctantly installed the PostScript of the UPD driver.  Problem solved!  Printing on paper 12 x 18 in Tray 1 works perfectly.  There is clearly a problem with the UPD PCL5 and PCL6 drivers.

  • Got paper stuck in the printer and now will only print proofs. How to reset the printer

Got paper stuck in the printer and now will only print proofs. How to reset the printer

It looks like you may have some saved jobs in your queue that need to be removed.

    Here's how:

To clear the print queue, stop the print spooler service and delete all the jobs/print pending.

You cannot delete all print jobs in the queue so that the Print Spooler Service is running.

To stop the Print Spooler Service, click Start, run and enter in the box:

    services.msc

Click OK to open the Services Applet.

Locate the Print Spooler Service, right click and choose 'Properties' and then click on the "Stop" button to stop the Print Spooler Service is running.

The option "Startup Type" of Service properties print spooler is usually set to "Automatic" (which is now a good time to check it out).

If the "Startup type" is not set to "Automatic", set the "Startup type" to "Automatic" If that is your desire (which now is the time to check it out).

Do not try to start or restart the Print Spooler Service immediately.  You must remove all print jobs backed up first...

Then, delete all updates pending upward and forward to printing from XP.  If they do not print before, you will need to send the to the printer again.

Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the following folder (assuming that Windows is installed on your C drive):

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\PRINTERS

Delete all the print jobs in queue (select and delete all the files) in the folder if the folder is without waiting for print jobs.  The folder must be empty when you are finished.

Reboot your system and check the Print Spooler Service again to make sure the Print Spooler Service restarts automatically restart (given that the startup type is set to automatic).

After the reboot, check again the Spooler Service for printing and the 'Status' column for the print spooler must be read "started."

Submit new failure of print jobs.

a piece of paper stuck on the papertranferroller of my hp1102. This paper comes out folded. How iopen the printer to join the rol?

Thanks for the link, but that did not help. The paperjam wasn't in the area, you can join in the way described. The book was completely wrapped around the tranferroller at the rear end of the printer. So I had to saw open the metal part of the back, click - both plastic end remove the top plastic complete. Because one side came not enough I had to use brute force on the upper plastic part. In the end, I was able to reach the roll, and after an hour, I had all of the removed paper...

  • HP e-all-in-one 8620: paper stuck - 8620 HP e-all-in-one tray

I pulled out the tray paper (there is only one) to remove a paper jam. I accidentally updated the tray rear paper in a corner and now it is going in or out. It is about 3 "in its slot. I tried out with the printer in its normal position and also with him upside on carpet so I can see the underside paper tray. Is there some buttons or levers, I should be pushing or something else to try?

    Thank you very much.

Hi @bdgrfan76, welcome to the Forums of HP!

I understand your test paper is now stuck in the printer and will go properly, nor can remove you it. At this point, I suggest use you a force to remove the status bar only. I wouldn't try to force, it would be best to remove it and reinsert it.  If the set is damaged you will need to order a new plateau and can do this by using the HP part Surfer.

I hope this helps and good luck to you.

  • HP OJPro Premium 8600 prints faxes with paper in tray 2 even if Tray 1 is the default value. Win 7 x 64

HP Office Jet Pro 8600 Premium prints faxes with tray 2 paper even if Tray 1 is set as default in the Preferences menu.

Win 7 x 64, network and USB connection for printer/fax, using the network for any connection.

On the 8600, the white paper goes into TRAY 2. Any type of paper or special paper should be in TRAY 1. Tray 2 is not part of the drivers for printer, so you will have to run some documents to the special trays.

So just pass the papers and everything should be printed in the correct places. You can also change the DEFAULT TRAY on the printer itself to TRAY 2. Keep it in automatic mode in preferences on the computer.

  • OfficeJet pro 8600 paper tray slides not well

OfficeJet Pro 8600, Vista.   Newly purchased.

It is about the paper tray (and there's only a single tray for the Pro model).

It is not related to change the paper size, or how to close the tray when in legal size I've seen in a post.

This tray is attached directly on the surface of the table. When you open and push to close, he rubs too on this surface and is very difficult to open or close.  It will just slip off as my other hp printers.  The friction is causing this frustration.   I have to actually lift the printer with my other hand to remove the bin to.

Anyone else having this?  How to remedy?

What a shame of a problem.  Looks like a nice printer.

Problem solved.  The table of this printer on a material cover.  I placed the printer elsewhere with hard and soft surface.  This seems to work better.  However, not the best slides inside and out, but a lot better.

conclusion: do not throw a printer on any material!

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

    Solved.
