• Vista Home Prem - problems since installation on 26 August updated - USB problems and everything deleted before the update restore points

  I have a Dell XPS 430 quad-processor. Receipt of the August 26 as update automatic updates. Since the computer was restarted after autoupdates, I have problems. Biggest problem is when I switch to another port my 4 ports KVM Trendnet TK - 407K and back on my Dell computer - the computer is blocked and the video is all garbled. My only recourse is to start the computer cold. After the first time it happened, I knew immediately updates, so I went in my restore points to restore back before the update. When I did restore bluescreened, but I was unable to capture data as computer restarted itself and get into the routine of starting fix. Difficulty of startup said it could not solve my problem.

  When I returned to restore to try to restore once again, I found that all my restore points have been removed. I found a utility called the shadow on the web Explorer and installed. He seems to find all my data restore point on the recovery D: drive, but Windows is not seeing them.  I should also mention, usb-wise, given that these updates have been applied, my Canon digital camera is not recognized when I hang it in one of the USB ports.

  Don't know what to do at this point. If I stay on the port on my computer using the KVM switch, my PC at home works well. Unfortunately, it is not realistic that I need to do my job in two laptops that are also connected to the switch.

  I'm tempted to just delete all the updates that have been installed on 8/26 to see if that helps - esp KB973879 I read on this patch causing a lot of problems with other computers.  Another thing that I have not tried is to use the restore from a command prompt application.

  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

• Cannot update USB improved controller installation file missing

  I get the same message c200 series Intel (r) chip set family improved USB control-1c2d driver installation file is missing INF written by windows 95 or later. There are two of them, I tried to uninstall, but they keep coming back. I have a gateway DX4860 it has 8 ports usb but now both work. Can anyone help me please with this problem? • Aspire One 722 update USB driver.

  I want to update the USB drivers for my 722 an Aspire in order to use an Android device that is not recognized by my computer. ACER driver download page listed possible downloads, but I can't say that one is for the USB drivers... for example the list includes... 3G, Audio, LAN, Bluetooth, card reader, press the button, VGA, wireless network.  I'd appreciate any help that you can tell me one that includes the USB drivers. • No audio, cd/dvd devices does not work, can not update via Microsoft Update, usb memory sticks not recognized and much more

  The initial problem was no audio sound on CD.  The computer had other system sounds.  I uninstalled the Realtek drivers and downloaded from the website computer and reinstalled.  Still the same problem. I tried to adjust the volume control and clicked the speaker at the bottom on the right bar.  I got a message saying there is no mixer device and the small speaker disappeared and reappeared even after several reboots.  There is also an error "no audio device".

  After reboot, the computer gives this error message: "Generic Host process for Win32 Services has encountered a problem and needs to close." We are sorry for the inconvenience. »

  While trying to find a solution on the web, I discovered that the computer does not recognize the usb key,

  The data is not "hostage." Pull the disk and put it in a box disc or it slave to a working computer and retrieve the data. If you don't have an additional computer you will need to borrow a friend or with the machine at a tech. You can also try the o with a Linux Live CD boot. I like Knoppix, but there are others. This has two advantages: 1) if the system works, you can back up all the data that missed your last backup; and (2) with the machine running Linux allows to determine whether the problems are caused by software or hardware. If the machine is unbearably slow and/or Linux cannot run correctly, you know that the hardware is at fault. If the machine behaves perfectly under Linux, you know that the software (Windows) is at fault.

  Whatever you do, do not install Windows without test material. If the hardware is at fault, software solutions like reinstalling Windows will be unnecessary. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

• Win 7 failure update USB (keyboard and mouse fails after reboot)

  I use a Z-220 workstation. Today (2 September) after the weekly MS updated some (mouse keyboard Plantronics headset) USB devices no longer works after the restart.

  So I use a gadget of mouse (very simple HP give) and the keyboard on the screen to access the workstation.

  Does anyone have an idea what the cause?

  It would seem then that some Windows Update screwed to the top of the application of Digital Signature.  I've seen Windows updates do something funny on some computers, but this is a first for me.  Microsoft updates have been buggy lately to not feel alone.

  You may need to use the F8 key until a new update of Windows solve the problem or Logitech Updater provides a new driver.

  I've attached Logitech tips for reference.

• Windows update - USB devices are more recognized after installation

  I had to restart my laptop to install the updates. Once the update is completed, I had 'one of your disks should be checked for consistency. Finally, I uninstalled all recent updates and arrested "windows update". A question, I have (both after windows update installations but also uninstall the updates), is that my USB devices no longer work. There is no error message, it does not detect my mouse or my external hard drive. There is power that the external drive indicates the power and my pad colling runs, it just does nothing. Anyone able to help?

  Also, was not able to run chkdsk - nothing happens

  Have been able to solve this problem by creating an ERD and a running windows repair option. Everything works now.

  I have a X 61, which I had downgraded from Vista to XP when I bought it 2 years ago.  I seem to be stuck with 1 USB ports - all 3 of them, and I can't find a way to get upgrades to USB 2.0.   This fact made almost impossible backups.

  How can I get this upgrade?

  Hurrah!  Thank you.    It does not work quite as you suggested, but you gave me the key.

  I went to control panel, system, Manager of devices.  There were 2 sets of USB controllers - a game just controlloers and one set of controlloers USB 2.0.  I uninstalled the ordinary, but when I rebooted, it just reinstalled them as new USB1!

  So I deleted it again and "Updated the drivers" on the set of USB 2.0.  It then launched into action, and I'm missing!  Problem solved.  Thank you very much - now I can make backups wisely!

  The first thing you have to do is to upgrade the power supply (PSU).  The current PSU is only 250W.  Most recent most of mid-level video cards requires a minimum of 400 w to work properly.  I love Corsair products.  I normally recommend at least 500W.

  Here are the system requirements for Battlefield 3.  (GTX 560 and AMD 6950) recommended graphics cards require 500W to work properly.

  Maybe stupid thing, but try it please follow: disconnect your laptop computer, adapter sector and battery and leave about 60 minutes. After only 60 minutes connect AC adapter / CC, start your laptop and try to use the USB.

  Please let me know what happens after that.
