HP P7 1414 A8 5500 processor temperatures

Hello

Here are the specs of my computer. http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03499587

Well, recently I noticed that my computer was working a little warm.  I think that the maximum range it should go up is 71c to my 5500 A8 processor.   It is running at 90 c +.

I dusted off the computer off to see if it would affect temperatures, but it had no impact them either.  Everything seems to be running much cooler, even my GPU.  This could be a problem with the processor itself?  I do not overclock my processor.  I don't even know how.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you.

Update: so I ended up find as well a new cpu fan and a new case fan.  They spin at about 1000 rpm more than the previous fans (now around 2000 RPM).  This helped with the temperatures of the cpu, but it reduces only about 10 c, which at 80 c + is always above the maximum of 71c for this processor.  I ended up doing some research on why this processor to perform these high temperatures, given that his only 65w.  It ends up that the processor begins to emit heat when he starts in mode, one of the features that this processor comes with.  It is not able to handle the high speeds, then it starts to enter the temperature of 90 c.  In any case, I had to go in power and low-power processor options (for example, rather than it be 100% in the power management option, I had to underpower the CPU at 99% max).  This resulted in a chip to 2.85 GHzetde the following temperatures.

It seems therefore that this processor is unable to manage the mode option that it comes with.   It just starting to emit too much heat.  It's a major inconvinience even not be able to turn the cpu to 3.2 ghz announced.  I think I might have just a faulty processor.

I am a Toshiba Satellite M100 series owner (Core Duo T2300, X 1400, etc.). The problem is that I can't analyze the CPU temperature variations in such popular application such as Everest or Notebook Hardware Control. Also any other software provided by Toshiba and installed already on my HARD drive does not include some CPU diagnostics, including temperature changes!

The only software that seems to work is the HWiNFO32 so there is a thermal probe inside which specifies that Centrino Duo processor temperature, but this software is not very user-friendly :(

There is a request for Toshiba do something with this... I've updated the BIOS in my template for a version 1.70, but this does not change I could easily noticed (or is he?)  :(

    Hello

In most cases applications can give you info on the hardware and the different settings but the temperature of the CPU in most cases is not visible. Toshiba has no tool or utility that can read or modify.

BIOS update has absolutely no influence on it. Satellite M100 is one of the latest devices and I really don t understand why it is so important to you. Important in my opinion is the stability of the system, the operation of the equipment and no problem with the software you are using. Am I wrong?

  • Possibility to control the fan and the temperature under Linux

    Hi all.

I suspect that my fan has stopped working. My satellite T110 tends to heat more quickly than in the past. After a brief search, I installed lm-sensors, and leave the settings by default yesterday reported temperature was 54 degrees. Today the same tool report processor temperature of 32 ° C when I went away and 50 ° C now, after 32 minutes. I was not be able to check the fan but as far as I can see the fan does not work. I would be really grateful if someone could tell me.

    1. If there is a reliable method to control es Linux pc (or even under windows, I have a system dual boot)
    2. What are the possible limits (non-hazardous)
    3. what could I do to fix my fan? It is easy to replace?
    4. a useful link to get information and support on the subject.

Is that what you found answers?
As you know Toshiba doesn't support Linux and doesn't offer solutions for this.
In my opinion, you should visit some Linux forum and try to find a solution with Linux experts.

  • Satellite L670 temperature spikes - fan off

    Hello, I bought a L670-PSK3EE and I have a rather strange problem.

My cpu fan will instantly off often times when I am idle and I noticed that this is related to temperature spikes that I get.

I used two monitoring programs, and both show the same result. My cpu runs at 39-41 degrees usually, but when I open Skype for example, it amounts to 56-62 and fall instantly causing once again the fan to turn on and off at the same time.

Do you know any possible solution to this problem or if someone of another encounter the same problem?

I also want to ask if the new BIOS update finally solves the problem of staggered keyboard and why TEMPRO ceased to provide updates of the most recent drivers.
    Thank you in advance.

    > I used two monitoring programs and both show the same result. My cpu runs at 39-41 degrees usually, but when I open Skype for example, it amounts to 56-62 and fall instantly causing once again the fan to turn on and off at the same time.

It is a second normal behavior. The CPU performance increase while loading new applications. It is a normal process for any CPU! If the performance of the processor temperature climbs to the specific level, cooling modules begin to turn more quickly to maintain the temperature at the lower level.

    > Do you know any possible solution to this problem or if anyone else has the same problem?
It s not a problem so there is not a solution, but you can improve the settings in Win 7 Power management.

    Check this box:

It s on Vista, but it s similar to Win 7

I have the high temperature of my CPU when im play is not on the next screen
    http://ImageShack.us/f/708/Temperatura.PNG/

When I play the temperature is around _73_ Celsius and _63 percent _, cooler _80 percent _ speed
    The temperature rises immediately.
    I worry about this.
I bought my satellite 2 months ago, I don't know what is recommended temperature and fan speed. How to reduce the temperature? My fan does not?

In my opinion there is no reason to panic. When you play games, it makes sense that the CPU and GPU must offer more performance and these hardware components will produce also more heat. Sensors on the motherboard to register this heat and fans will be auto activated to operate with a higher speed and a hard recovery.

This is nothing unusual. 73 for the processor temperature is certainly not the critical temperature level.

  • Satellite A100-534 and Speedfan

    I noticed my 1-year-old A100 (534 - Intel Celeron M 1.5) have warm enough so I installed Speedfan to read temperature. Speedfan Hdd = 44 c and temp1 varies between 55 and 100 C!

At the time that as I type this post he says 99 C. What is the actual temperature of the CPU or is it a misreading?

    Thanks in advance,
    Peter

    P.S., Speedfan now says 101 c

I use notebook hardware control too and it will be interesting to know what processor temperature and the HARD disk will be shown here.

In my case CPU is about permanent HDD about 40 ° C and 60 c.

  • Pavilion p7 - 1447c: Pavilion p7-1447 Fund increase performance

    Hi all

I have a Pavilion p7-1447 Office that I bought at Costco about 3 years ago. Nex Gen AMD Quad Core A8-5500 processor accelerated processor, 10 GB memory, 1 TB hard drive.

I want to increase the performance of the computer. A friend suggested that I buy a SSD drive for a little over $ 300. I expected a less expensive approach.

    Any suggestions?

In addition, suggestions for anti-virus software?

    Thank you

    Frank

$300 will buy a 1 TB SSD. A concert of 512 is large enough and can be found for less than $150. You can have your original 1 TB of HDD and an SSD. There is no better upgrade performance. You can add memory or processor upgrade, but if you install an SSD you will think that you have done both. The only thing it won't help is game. For this, you need a video card and that is a different debate. I use Avast Free Antivirus and I am pretty happy with it. Also install Malwarebytes. Together, they provide a reasonable protection for free.

  • Dell XPS 18 overheats and stops

Hi guys. I have a Dell xps 18 who has recently developed a problem. With or without overloading the processor temperature starts randomly on the rise and the machine stops at about 57 to 62 degrees. Sometimes it's very good and sometimes it keeps it doing back to back. My computer has the replacement motherboard i3. The original has stopped charging the battery (plugged in, not not supported message) so I bought a motherboard replaced about 8 months ago. It has good cpu paste and everything worked fine until recently. Even he stops when it is in the BIOS. I was wondering, is it than 60 degrees is a dangerous temperature that is forcing the closure of the motherboard? The idle temp is about 30 to 40 degrees, then it suddenly starts to go up until 60, then dies. He does especially when is overload (no game, some software open), but still it goes up sometimes when he's just sitting there with nothing running in the background. I have to go on eBay new fan buy my second replacement card mother now lol? Any suggestion? I like my XPS 18 and it has served me well but have these serious problem began to really put me off it. Thank you very much.

just an update on my problem with heat. the card mother ew (i3 US$ 50) arrived and installed a few weeks, I have been using and test the DEll XPS 18 heavily for the past few weeks without any problem so far. the operating temperature is 49 c (use slow and light) to 60 ° c (very busy) but now the motherboard stop no more. I also decided to use an additional quantity of thermal paste and I think the fan is working a lot quieter and less now. My problem was a faulty motherboard and then at the end second MB less than a year. I wonder when I will return here and announce that I am ready for a third replacement card mother lol

There are a lot of settings Oracle automatically design based on the number of CPUs.
In my case, this number is too high.

For example, normally db_cache_size = 4 MB * cpu, in this case the result is 1 G of db_cache_size.

The plan is to create several databases on this car, so the question is:

Is there a way to design or to tell oracle a different number of cpu?
    and in general...
You have some tips on how it is possible to configure a machine so powerful that runs a large number of instances?

    Thanks in advance

Published by: Spugna on May 7, 2012 03:01

    Hi Spugna,

Of course, as long as you use Oracle 11 g you can use Instance Caging to limit each database, the CPU usage. Although it is no longer applicable to the single server database or a CCR node I see no reason why not to use with RAC. Look here for more information:
    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E14072_01/server.112/e10595/dbrm007.htm

You could also consider the consolidation of these different in a large database of databases if it is possible and there is no dependence application?

    Kind regards

  • VCA / Migration proposed

    Hello

I plan a migration of some virtual machines and want to clarify something about the compatibility of VCA.

My existing servers use Intel 53XX / 54XX processors and will be removed after migration took place. My new servers use Intel 5500 processors. Everything will be on VI3.5 and a single 2.5 vCenter server will manage both groups.

I propose to use Storage VMotion to migrate the virtual machine between old and new data warehouses and want to use VMotion if possible to migrate the virtual computer between clusters.

    My proposed always is:

Upgrade existing ESX 3.5 Update 4 cluster.

Create new cluster with ESX 3.5 Update 4.

Select CVS on the new cluster and the base line at the level of the Core 2 which is compatible with older processors clusters.

Migrate disks with Storage VMotion VM and VM with VMotion, between old and new clusters.

    Cluster of old decommision.

Anyone who has used this approach? It does not work and I would be aware of any witch hunt?

    Thank you

If you consider any comments as useful, please give points

  • Satellite 1800-814: how to measure the temperature of the processor?

I replaced the radiator component on my laptop as it freezes suddenly during the operation. Now everything seems to be better, but still a last question. How to measure the temperature of the processor?

    Hi guys.

Is this normal? A lot of times if I opened a second schedule it arrives at 102º C and the CPU count starts to break down to lower the temperature. My computer also crashed several times because the CPU temperature reached 108 degrees.

Now, what can I do? I can't control my speed of fan and the fan works only when the CPU is used: (.)

  • What is operation temperature of the processor on your Portege R500?

I have a laptop Portege R500 in series with processor U7600 and would * like to know what other users average operating temperature is for normal office use * i.e. Word processing, watching DVD/youtube, surfing the net, etc.

I ask because I recently bought a used dock (port replicator ii) and also upgraded the OS on the laptop. It seems to me that there may be a problem, because under heavy use (compilation of software) performance appears to deteriorate on the machine - only solution seems to be turning the device off and leave it for a few minutes.
Even when I don't have something heavy - such as typing this message, the CPU temperature lingers in the 1980s high (Celsius).

I've seen on the forums that other people have had on this model of laptop overheating problems. My machine is about three and a half years of age. I opened and cleaned the fan in the air compressed and checked that it actually turns when turned on. However, I don't think a lot of air if I put my hand next to the exhaust, when turned on.

Is someone can confirm if the exhaust is supposed to s u c k or expel air? Can you confirm your time average CPU? Anyone having problems with dock causing overheating?

    Thanks in advance!
