Satellite PS183A often SHUTS

I have the PS183A satellite. I can turn it on. Running Windows XP Edition family sound. But once it is on, it can run for 10 minutes to 15 minutes or 30 minutes and then turns off. I tried to run on the current and also just on battery power, the result is the same. Download all drivers or both? If so can u give me a direct link to download as I couldn't find the drivers to download for my series.

Emergency assistance is required.

Hello

to me it looks like your laptop is overheating.
Perhaps there are few dust behind the cooling rack.
Try to go out with a vacuum cleaner.

Good bye

    Salvation;

I think it might be a graphic driver problem nVidia, even if I run other programs of game with higher spec requirements.

Is there any where on the Toshiba site, I can actually download new drivers? I searched the Toshiba site and found that there is some possible updates but no installation to actually achieve the download itself... confusing.

  • Satellite C850-B820 shuts off when I take off my power cable

    Hello

I bought laptop Satellite C850-B820 2 months there is use to this normal subject, 2-3 hours a day, I was working on it without the power connected, the status of the battery was at 50% so I plugged in to recharge, suddenly power left and returned to 1 seconds, after a while, I took the power cable and suddenly he cut re plugged again and checked the status of the battery is completely charged 100%, someone has idea what wrong with it?

Maybe the disconnection of electricity makes the battery or motherboard?

    > Shows 100% recharged, but the battery has no effect, if I unplug the cord cut.

In my opinion, there are two reasons why the unit stops when you unplug the AC adapter.

    (1) battery failures and State of charge of the battery will not
    (2) electronic power supply motherboard is faulty. These electronic controls of the computer mobile power

I think you should check if the new battery would help to solve your problem.
But you said that the laptop is not very old, around the age of 2 months and so the warranty should still be valid.

In this case, you should not attempt to resolve yourself but should contact the service in your country in order to verify the device. He should be permanently guaranteed covered

    Hello!

    The laptop gets hot?
You can hear the fan or is always off?

Maybe you should clean the fan with compressed air jet.

Otherwise, you should go to a local ASP. I think that there is something wrong with the motherboard.
    To check your laptop.

  • Satellite M45-S269 shuts down and won't restart

I have a satellite M series, it froze during use, and when I went to restart it would not immediately. Lights in front I sometimes can go down all the way to the desktop screen, but then it stops again and will not restart immediately. I bought the new battery, but that was no problem. Can someone help me?

    Hello

    > I bought the new battery, but who did not problem
Why do you think that this problem could be linked to the defective battery?

First of all, we need to clarify if this problem could be related to hardware or software problem.
In this case the best way to know what's wrong is to begin the process of recovery from the original recovery CD Toshiba. This CD installs the new Win operating system, drivers, and additional software.

Usually after the new installation the phone should start properly, without big problems.

But if it doesn't work after the new installation then a unique malfunction of hardware components. I think firstly on the memory modules and HARD drive

  • Satellite P850 / 02C "Shut down" causes the reset and commissioning in an abnormal state

My laptop P850/02c meets Shut down by resetting and return upward in an abnormal state.
Abnormal state is that wifi is connecting is no longer an error message comes up - which I assume never happens to Microsoft.

The machine is running 64-bit Windows 8 with the latest Windows updates and is two weeks with this problem that may occur on the first day.

After advice from the dealer, I now tried shift while selecting Shut down - it works, the laptop shuts down as it should.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem so that the laptop responds correctly to Shut down?

    See you soon

    Phil

    > After advice from the dealer, I now tried shift while selecting Shut down - it works, the laptop shuts down as it should.

This procedure completely stops the laptop

The point is that Win 8 past in hybrid mode, choose the option stop in the charm bar
To completely turn off, you must press SHIFT + X and have to choose Shut Down.

    Here are more details:

  • Satellite A350-212 - Shut downs and possibly overheating

    Hello

I have a few problems on my laptop again; When I try to play a game, for example the Godfather II, computer laptop stops suddenly.

Is this a problem with my fan of notebooks or called overheating, particularly the area of my mouse pad is so hot and I don't know if there is a fan or not?

Could you please help me on this? What should and what can I do for this?

    Hello

Maybe dust blocks the cooling fan and if your laptop stops immediately
So in your case I would clean the laptop using a jet of compressed air. This could blow the dust of fans cooling and, therefore, it of not necessary to disassemble the laptop. Check this box!

Which driver you use display? I can't recommend the Toshiba drivers because they are pre-tested.

  • Satellite P300 question, shuts down and does not restart intermittently.

My wifes p300 presents a very confusing and annoying problem. She is now on her 3rd replacement the last two having the same problem.

I just turned off intermittently for no reason, a few times, it will restart but sometimes he used. So if I remove the battery and plug in the power that it restarts again however it then turns off again and do not restart unless the battery is returned. I think it may be a problem with the battery and the power cable as she said that the problem will only get worse if the computer will run on battery power for a while.

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem or had any suggestions as to what could be the problem.

    Bill has soon

Hello Bill and please describe your opinion on this subject. Reading your first post I ve also thought it should be overheating issue, but after this second announcement, I imagine that the food may be responsible for this turn off suddenly question.

Please post the results of the investigation. It can be really interesting to know what the problem is here.

  • Satellite A50-109 shut down when the CPU has to work hard

My laptop off when I open the www with graphic flash or when the processor has to work hard. What's wrong?

    Hello

Looks a bit like an overheating problem. What do you think??
Have you checked the temperature with a tool of freeware as an Everest for example?

To my knowledge the laptop stops automatically if the temperature rises to a critical level to prevent material damage!

I think that the cooling modules don t runs properly and therefore the temperature doesn't fall.

Usually, fans can turn with a maximum yield due to dust and debris inside the laptop.
From time to time it s advisable to clean the fans with a spray of air compression. It can be everywhere for laptop and computer purchase.

You should also be able to clear any dust and debris using a normal vacuum.
Place it on the grids of aspiration air for a few seconds. But be careful.
A strong suction can damage fans.

If you have no experience, I recommend to contact a technician and would like to ask for help

    Good luck

  • Key records is not on Satellite C660

The keyboard on my month Satellite C660 often doesn't seem to work properly 100% - lack of characters, double and generally does not record the capital letter when you use the SHIFT key (shows apital rather than Capital). It is intermittent then maybe a software issue - something running in the background and taking up resources (although surprising because it is a fairly fast machine).

I have Office 2010, Kaspersky, and is normally connected to the internet through a USB router.

Has anyone else had this problem or found a solution?

    Hello

Here there are similar topics in the forum on the behavior of the keyboard on Satellite C660. Have you found these topics?

The problem can be easily solved because a BIOS update to the latest version:

Sometimes this can be removed by clicking on the Red Cross in the corner of the bar and after a few moments he does not disappear, but other times it stays there and there seems to be no way to get rid of him.

    Try this:

  • Satellite M100-165 cannot stop - turns on automatically after a few seconds

    Hello!

I have the problem of identical or very similar to those described in the threads:
    Link: [http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=15325]
    Link: [http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=109125]

When I try to turn off my Satellite M100-165 ("shut down" in Windows or even by pressing the power button while I'm in BIOS) it lights up after a few seconds. It lights when it runs on batteries. She also doesn't appear when I press the button for 4 seconds.

I tried to recover the system with the recovery CD (Windows XP Home). I also tried with Windows Vista. Always the same.

In fact I have BIOS version 2.90 (updated from version 1.90, as far as I remember) but with an earlier version, the problem exists also.
I think when I got the version of the BIOS before 1.90 this problem did not exist (but I don't remember this version number).

    Thank you for any suggestions.

    Hello

It's a very unusual question and, for me, there is not just some explanation. It will be interesting to know what Toshiba experts say on this subject. Make a call and let us know what they say.

The strange is that the same thing will happen with two different operating systems. I can't say for sure why this happens, but your laptop is a bit confusing and of course change the shutdown with restart. If it is result of BIOS update service people should know about it.

  • Watch DVDs on my TV

I have a 5100 Satellite and often watch movies on his DVD player killer. I wonder if I can optimize the results of TV playback.

Hey! Using the video player of WinDVD came with your laptop? Do not use the LCD/TV option in the settings of display with the WinDVD player software driver. By default the display driver is set to high color (32 bit) for the best quality of image and performance. Unfortunately you can not watch movies on your TV and on your screen at the same time. But I don't think it is an also major issue. Do you know how to switch between the two?
