HP PAVILION 15-ab029TX: UPS

WHAT ARE THE BAD EFFECTS OF VOLTAGE FLUCTUATIONS ON UPS OF MY PORTABLE COMPUTER (help without battery)? is VOLTAGE FLUCTUATIONS ARE OK for MY UPS or NOT?

Hello @PAWAN91,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you have a problem with (UPS) uninterrupted power supplies and tried to help you!

I'm not quite sure what you're asking.  UPS are made to allow your PC work through fluctuations in voltage.  As UPS helps protect your PC against voltage fluctuations, it should be fine.  Don't forget that the ups must have enough power, to allow your system to shut down properly.  Based on the specifications of your laptop, the adapter must be a 65 W adapter.  For more information, you can try to see the following resource:

How to choose a backup battery for your computer (Not a HP website supported).

  • Pavilion 6610f: what is my validation key number OS

Computer HP Desktop Pavilion 6610f 64 bit OS Win 7 Home Premium Wireless and Ethernet connection of the power cord

Bought more than 6 years ago.  Win 7 operating system came preloaded.  It's the same operating system that I used all this time, but for some reason any Microsoft began to harass me on my Windows operating system is not not authentic.

I tried to do what they ask, but their validation programs do not seem to work for me, and today I finally got a message saying that my OS 'key validation number' is incorrect.

Since I had the same during all this time, I do not know where to look to find the key number, or why it would be somehow fake when it was fine for 6 years.  I don't have any distribution, freeze ups or repairs done to my PC.

I thought it could have been a damn update so I did a system restore and removed the last update, but that did not help.

I think it has something to do with the fact that Microsoft pushed I wish put online their OS 'FREE' Windows 10, which I refused to do, several times and even spoke at their tech support on the phone about it and asked them to remove from my system so that I would not continue to see their incessant icon push me to download. It was a year and half ago and it has been in my bar since!

Why push so hard and for free?  I heard negative things about the operating system and I won't.  I am very happy with the one I have.  I'm getting very suspicious of their motives.

Can someone help me with my operating system validation key or if anyone has had a similar problem and the resoved, can you pass this information to me that I get very bored with this company?

I spent far too much time and energy trying to their housing for something that is obviously THEIR mistake.  I contacted the MS Forum community as well and had a lot of answers that I did as they suggested every time and it is still not resolved!

Thanks in advance for your time.

Your computer has two keys of Microsoft Windows PID associated with it. One that is on the hard drive and the support of HP recovery, if you create your HP recovery media. And the other which is on the Microsoft COA sticker on the side of your computer.

The key that is on the drive hard on and the recovery media is a SLP (System locked preinstallation) activation code, SLP mass this key must be associated with a valid BIOS SLIC2.1 and a valid certificate of corresponding SLP to automatically activate Windows 7. If one of these three elements is corrupted, it is possible that the computer can it lose of the activation status. This can normally be corrected by returning computer to a factory state using the HP recovery.

If the above sounds like too much work, may use the key OEM HP of the COA Microsoft sticker activate you the current installation of Windows 7.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

    Hello

I'm looking to upgrade my current graphics on this PC card a NVIDIA GT630 for an Asus NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti.

My current features on the PC are:

    Model: HP Pavilion p6-2489ea

    Motherboard: h-joshua-h61-µATX

    RAM: 8 GB

    Power: 300W

    CPU: i5 - 3350P

I understand that I may also update my 500w all about food but other than that I just wanted to know if my PC would be able to support the graphics card GTX 750 TI?

    Hello

Consult this publication of the article.

Some models of the NVIDIA GTX 750 TI require a PCI-E power connector 6 pin auxiliary. The 300 watt PSU is not this power connector.  If the particular graphics you plan requires the auxiliary power connector, then you need to replace the power supply.  If this isn't the case, then you don't need to replace the power supply.

Your PC has a BIOS version 8 so the NVIDIA GTX 750 should work.

There are published of the updates to the BIOSof your PC you can consider applying the last update. There is always a risk of the BIOS update. I keep my PC on UPS to avoid having a power failure during the BIOS update process. You must disable Secure Boot in the BIOS and save the changes. Then start and apply the update to the BIOS.  A your PC is stable and then install the new graphics card.

    Hi, Niki:

Nothing is never easy, is everything!

Unfortunately, I do not know what that all means is.

I was hoping it would work only.

When you look at the list of the supported PC version is supposed to work with, I thought it would be too much work for your model.  Although it does not list the series g6 or g7, supported, he shows much older models supported by this software.

  • HP pavilion a530n: restart hang

    Hello

    I have HP Pavilion a530n

    I've updated the bios

    motherboard ASUS K8N8X-(Diablo-UL6E)

    3.11 BIOS revision 31/08/04

    CORE 08.00.09

    The Athlon 64 processor brand

Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 Build 2600

    Connection to the local network

It's a great machine, I feel some as a hardware malfunction and I came to HP looking to reduce at the source of the problem and get the right solution/replacement.

In a first time considered to be a graphics card problem, I believe that it is the processor. Spikes in CPU usage (lag) for video media / scroll / animations/Games etc no matter what ranging from 80 to 120 MB and audio sync studder problems occurs.

Graphics drivers from Nvidia has mitigated the problem by increasing the performance even more. But there has got to be hardware at fault. Then

I decided to test the performance of the processor (on the clock) and I arrived for an update of the bios that would allow me to unlock the processor speed and diagnose the problem.

"as had recommended", I missed the warnings and ran the installer. I did a backup.

I ran restarting set up, hanged. Forced shutdown. initialized to a checksum error in the diagnostic screen (POST)

connected to windows messenger windows could not connect to retry or cancel (two at the same time error messages), connection to the internet explore has been limited and some pages may not display, refreshing was necessary.

It mainly that my office now has not run the warm boots. (it stays on, "hangs" before entering the MBR or by MAIL)

    Cold only work boots.

    It's the factory version

Provider of system BIOS: American megatrends Inc. 2.11 31/08/2004

    SMBIOS Version 2.3

carried out the restoration of the system - created minutes before.

I reinstalled the operating system. I could not install the drivers or connect to windows messenger. I found that most network services have been disabled. I have reactivated them and was able to install the drivers.

I went into the settings BIOS and "permits" the diagnostic screen. Connected to windows and connected, restarted messenger and it worked! for about 3-4 warm boots.

Problem was solved temporarily; no major changes, there is no software currently only SP3 and. Net4 I was able to get windows update to download Internet Explorer 8. rebooted and hung... I don't remember exactly what happened just before.

    I cleared the cmos jumpers

I also found a few bios utilities and a legacy of ASUS K8N motherboard-specific versions. (FAQ describes most of my problems)

but I'm still not able to retrieve the version 2.11 of the factory and/or flash their public services.

I've disconnected all devices but still hangs on reboot.

loaded by default F5 and saved out F10. services.msc services are activated and started

I searched on the HP Pavilion a500 Fund data base for a bios which corresponded to the K8N8X - LA motherboard, found another which fixed a problem of logo outside of send/receive error reports.

    Nothing without major change

I downloaded the map network, the hp chipset drivers.

Control Panel > Power Options > UPS >

    theres a [!]

"The UPS service is currently stopped."

If this is the reason why my computer is unable to restart

    run the command

cmd /k sc config UPS start = disabled

run a command that says ' [SC] ChangeServiceConfig SUCCESS. "

Still, he was arrested after reinstalling the operating system. This isn't a solution

  • HP Pavilion x 360: D recovery

I have a HP Pavilion x 360, which is less than a year. I have no music, photos or files stored on this laptop. When I looked at my storage space on the computer, I see that the RECOVERY (D) has only 2.39 GB free of 21.6 GB. I right-click on it to see what files were stored there and I can not access this information. It appears that ups with a warning saying: this area of your drivve hard (or partition) contains files used during restart Windows from the push button and image of HP recovery. Do not remove or modify any of these files. Any change to this partition could have an impact in the future the system recovery feature. It is something I should be concerned with, or is it normal to have the amount of space used. I don't want to take it to a computer repair shop if it is supported, with that it is less than a year that it should be under warranty if there is a problem. Thank you for any information regarding this problem.

What you see is completely normal. The recovery disk is very full, because its content does not change and there is no need to free space on it. You can create a recovery disc (USB key) that play the same role as the recovery disk (partition) and then delete the partition to free up space.

I would like to draw your attention as well to the fact that there is a virus that does exactly what you describe, but the fact the software itself if you use it.

  • Pavilion 500-339: steps for production switching in a pavilion of 500-339

I just ordered a new card of video for my Pavilion 500-339 (with a more powerful power supply) and I think I read somewhere that I need to disable the "secureboot" and "Legacy", or else my computer can now load Windows after the installation of the card. Is this something I need to do while the old card is in or I have to wait until the material is under tension? I'll need to return to a step by step guide for it...

Try it with active secure boot and see if your PC boot ups. If Yes, then no changes are necessary. Otherwise, you will need to swap the card with the old card and then boot into the BIOS and disable secure boot.  It depends on the security level of BIOS in your PC.  HP has added more updates of security to the BIOS that can strengthen the restrictions on the physical changes.  Changes to the BIOS of the security details are not publicly documented or disclosed.
