  Unplug your ethernet category 5 cable.

  Download the LAN driver from the link below and save it to your desktop.

  FTP://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp46501-47000/sp46504.exe

  Then, in the Menu start, open the all programs, open accessories, right-click on command prompt and select "run as Administrator".  In at the prompt, type the following command and press ENTER.
   
  sfc/scannow               (Note that there is a space between sfc and /)
   
  Let the entire process, then the output type and press ENTER.

  Now, right click on the installer you downloaded and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  When finished, restart the computer and try to connect the cable again.

  Hi forum,

  My PC keeps hanging when I try to reboot.  It blocks right on the restart screen until finally a power down is the only option (via the power button / stop).

  After reading a few pieces on the web and because of the frustration, I opted for a new installation.  Then I updated any drivers, software, etc and everything seemed to be working ok but then returned the restart blocking.  I looked again on the web and came across someone who had a similar problem.

  Following the advice that he received, I disabled my network card and this solves the blocking of the restart, but obviously this is far from being a permanent solution.  I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction as to what is actually happening with my system.

  Specs below:

  HP Pavilion 15 laptop

  Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

  Intel Core i3-4030U CPU @ 1.90 GHZ

  8.00 GB OF RAM

  1 TB harddrive

  Broadcom BCM43142 802.11 bgn Wi - Fi adapter

  It seems that it was the Windows Update in the WiFi adapter option that was causing the problem. After updating the driver by downloading the Windows update option from the HP website directly is more listed.

  Will trust only drivers of HP in the future.

  Unfortunately, win now forces the installation of driver updates - even when these update 'break' something!

  Because HP does not have the Win10 drivers for the DV6 series and in many cases, same Win8.1 drivers (which some will work in Win10), you're pretty much stuck problem.

  You must check the version of the current AMD drivers.  If they are newer than the Win10 drivers on the AMD website, which might work is the following:

  (1) download the drivers from the AMD website

  (2) uninstall the current AMD drivers

  (3) install the drivers from the AMD website

  Understand, however, that none of these steps can leave you with a non-working display - and if that happens, your only recourse to get a rear DV6 job will be to restore from recovery Win7 HP media.

  Sorry, but DV6 were not designed to work with Win10.

  I read your message and understand that your HP Pavilion Notebook 15-ab034tx keeps on restarts with a blue error screen. I have studied the issue and have developed a possible resolution. First of all, please perform a reset. Once this is done, please follow the steps described in this document:

  When I start the laptop, I see the HP logo, the blue window of Microsoft and the white dots turning in a circle and then everything freezes after 5 seconds or more. If I force the power off I can restart without problem. At the start, I can hear the fan, player and I see that the player accesses (blue led).

  I tested the memory and the disk with tools (diagnostic) which you can access from the start. The results were very good.

  I did a hard reset, search the forum for similar problems.

  Some Firefox problems can be solved by performing a clean reinstall. This means that you remove Firefox program files, and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:

  Note: You can print these steps or consult them in another browser.

  2. Once the download is complete, close all Firefox Windows (click on quit in the file menu or Firefox).

  That the Forums are with you!  I understand that, after a few updates, your computer does not start correctly and freezes on the HP logo.   I'm happy to help you with this.

  Since it was started once, but then had a blue error screen, I suggest using the computers HP - use Microsoft System Restore (Windows, 10, 8).   Follow the instructions in the section «restore your computer when Windows is unable to boot normally»  See if it will start normally after the restoration. If yes then you probably want to prevent the offending update to install again.

  My HP Pavillion M9452p primer, I can connect and I ran a program to copy a disc.  the system froze, then went through the process of restarting and froze on the splash screen for HP.  Rebooted the system by closing doen ran diagnotics and received a message "BIOS4 Boot error, contact the HP support" what dio I need to do to fix this?

  303 error code is a failure of the short test (DST) disk Self and would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.  This also corresponds to the start-up question and would explain why you can run safe mode because the disk is under less load (that is, much less read/write requests).

  I gathered from your original post that the laptop is no longer under warranty - you can check the status of your warranty here.

  If you are out of warranty and would like a guide to replacing the hard drive yourself, please let me know - include the full model number and your notebook series g6 Nr - see here for an explanation.

  If this can help others! I have a HP DV9600US it works well but then screen freezes hot flashes and crashes or re-boots or gives me the blue screen of death. Spent hours updating the drivers and the latest NVIDIA drivers without change, all the tests and diagnosis appear normal. When I open IE 9 it hangs then crashes sometimes at the office, tried to change the parameters of res and nothing has worked. I assumed I had a bad video chip. NOT. This all started I thought with IE 9, I changed all the settings of Internet Explorer.

  Here's what I found to solve the problem and I hope this can help, DO NOT updating auto or manual for the new drivers or NVIDA video Windows CE is the cause, I downloaded from the site to shape the 2008 NVIDIA driver HP and rolled, problem solved. I am running Windows Vista 32 bit.

  I post that hope, it helps others and records the days/hours of attachment and not update recommended to the latest drivers that actually caused the problem in the first place. I guess the lesson learned if it works LEAVE IT ALONE.
