My wife has an HP laptop that apparently has been invaded by a virus.

I ran a full recovery of the system of the system to recover.

"Everything" be okay except that it will install is no longer in many Windows updates.

Some go in the good, too to fails.

I guess the virus got into the part of resumption of training.

If I buy recovery discs system master HP and completely reset and restore this remove any virus hidden in the disc and fix Windows 7 update?

It is perhaps simply an update of Windows ordering process. I recently did a cover on a portable 4 years old, which means a lot of Windows updates. In a first time, many did not - some were installing. I think that what is happening is that some are mandatory before others will install actually - but WU is not smart enough to put them in good condition. It took about a week to WU before all seemed to start to work. I had the laptop placed to get updates on a daily basis and left that it powered, but I checked manually updates a few times over a few days speed up the process. I was almost ready to throw in the towel when everyone finally click.

On the question of recovery disks-, it is always better to have them onhand. You never know when a hard disk will fail and must be replaced. In this case they are certainly needed. They also help to correct problems in the event of a bad virus infection.

If you can't make your game using HP Recovery Manager I would order them.

  • Pavilion p7 1235 HP Recovery Manager removal

Pavilion p7 1235 Windows 7: I would like to uninstall the HP Recovery Manager and use the hard D for my data disk partition; However, the HP Recovery Manager does not appear in the list of 'remove programs' in Control Panel.  How can I remove it and keep the D partition?

    Hello

You can do it manually as follows.

    Note:

As this will remove the ability to reinstall Windows 7 from this partition, make sure first that you have your set of recovery disks in case you need to reinstall the operating system - be aware that if you use these discs to reinstall the OS, they recreated all the original partitions on the hard disk for all custom partitions and data will be lost.  This being the case, be sure to back up data that you plan to store in the D partition to an external device/support before performing a recovery.

    To format the D partition.

Hold down the Windows key and press R.  In the run box, type compmgmt.msc , and then press ENTER.  Click disk management in the left pane and let readers load upward.  Right-click on the D Partition, and then select Format to start the wizard.  Windows 7 will affect a Volume label so if your happy with it, just leave the default value, which is still D.  As the Partition D has had a FAT file system, it is probably best to change it to NTFS.  Allocation unit size must be left by default.  Select the option to perform a quick format if it is not already done.  Leave all the other default settings, and then click Ok, and then Ok to start the process.

Once done, close disk management and you should see the available empty Partition D when you look under the computer.

  • Pavilion 500-141ea: HP Recovery Manager

I read in another Board that HP Recovery Manager is accessible from the start menu. But it may not be accessd in the Start Menu on my Windows 10 system! I have not tried this recently, but can I still access it by pressing F11 immediately after the passage on my PC?

More importantly, can I still reset my PC to factory settings using the HP Recovery Manager, now I have 10 windows? Otherwise, I might as well delete the HP recovery partition to free up space...

    Sheri52

    Thanks for the reply.

While Microsoft says there is no risk in the upgrade of Win10, because they allow you to believe that you can always return to your BONES and the original installation program within 30 days, the ugly fact of the matter is that the Win10 GoBack feature turned out to be unreliable - and when she fails, she can let machines in a State corrupted - that does not always happen , but it happens often enough to be a problem and you will get no warning beforehand that he goes to the trash your PC!

If this is not enough, the Win10 upgrade is known, in some cases, corrupt partition recovery stored by the OEM that built the original machine. It's pretty much guarantee that no HP recovery will work: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Video-Display-and-Touch/HP-Recovery-Manager-Blocked-After-Windows-10-Upgrade/td-p/5170752

So, basically, the recovery partition won't do you no good now - you may remove as well.

However, I highly recommend that you plan to use a third party to make a backup image of your PC, known as Macrium Reflect.

Macrium reflect (MR) provides a FREE version that can be used to image and restore partitions or drives together: http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx

What I recommend is the following:
    (1) download and install Macrium reflect (MR)
    (2) run M. and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition (s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive or USB key
    (3) use the option to create a CD or a USB startup key

My experience is that SIR, when you use the option of Compression high, typically allows to compress the image file recorded at about 50% of the space USED in the OS partition. This means that if you have a 40GB and 80GB OS partition is used, MR must only about 20 GB to store the image file.

I use all the time and it usually takes less than 10 minutes to make the backup of the image and at the same time or less do a restore.

In addition, MR has the ability to add a recovery Boot Menu entry. This then allows you to boot into Windows re, and then you can use it to do a restore - when you cannot start Windows!

NOW, you have the means to restore a full system that works for the external hard drive or USB key in a few minutes.

    Good luck

  • HP Recovery Manager freezes at 33% on laptop DV6

    HP Pavilion DV6235nr

    Windows Vista 32-bit

I am running HP Recovery Manager to a set of recovery disks that I created.  The first phase, "Reformat the partition of your hard drive Windows" works without a hitch.  The second phase, 'Original content relocation' freezes at 33%.  I gave it as long as 4.5 hours, and it never progressed beyond 33 percent.

I also tried to run Recovery Manager from the hard drive.  The program tells me to remove the recovery for the computer disk can restart from the partition.  When I remove the disc, nothing happens.  When I click on "Finish", the computer stops but never restarts.

My computer is 6 years old, so there is no guarantee.  This forum seeking help is really my only hope of getting my laptop works again.

    Hello:

Sometimes, the recovery disks don't work you do for one reason or another.

Unfortunately, there are hundreds of messages like this and, unfortunately, very few answers.  I still could help a person to get their recovery discs to work.

So I see that you have two options (only if you can read all 25 characters of the product key of Vista on the bottom of your PC):

1 order a set of HP recovery discs and I hope they work.

    2. your own windows installation of vista if simple media you can read your vista product key.

This will NOT restore your PC as long as you plant. It will install the operating system, and you will need to either have your program installation files and also use some drivers and downloads are available from your laptop support and driver page.

  • Pavilion dm4 2191us: restoring a backup made with HP Recovery Manager - data recovery manager has since been removed

My system (portable Pavilion dm4, Win 7 Home Premium x 64)) is works well but I would like to restore a backup of data made with HP Recovery Manager. HP Recovery Manager has since been removed from the system and I don't have a recovery disk. I tried to install sp45415 that supposedly runs a silent installation for the Recovery Manager program, but it fails silently on my system. The notes say that it applies to Windows 7 computers and the Pavilion dm1 and dm3. There is no mention of the dm4.

Y at - there a trick to getting sp45415 to work properly?

Y at - it somewhere that I can download an installation package for HP Recovery Manager that works on the Pavilion dm4?

Is there another tool that can restore the backup made by HP Recovery Manager?

    Thank you!

If you have uninstalled Recovery Manager he probably removed the recovery of files in the recovery partition. When these files are not deleted download Recovery Manager will install. You will need a recovery media to boot from to restore the files and the recovery partition. If you do not have a recovery media you order from HP.

As for the files you are trying to restore - if it's a backup of personal files, photos, etc. to the outside hard disk or DVD must be a file .exe inside these files, probably of Restore.exe or Recover.exe. Double click on the .exe will extract files to a folder on the hard drive of your laptop.

Sorry, but HP only provides Manager HP recovery as part of the installation at the factory. HP doesn't provide downloads of the HP Recovery Manager and you may need to order recovery HP media to get the computer to a factory State. Please contact HP in your country / region via the Portal Support HP's worldwide to the order of HP recovery disks.

Creation of new partitions usually breaks the F11 function. You burn your OS Recovery DVD game? If so start from to recover your original software.

If you burn your recovery set, you can order from HP for a small fee.

    Hello:

Here is the link to the support page and drivers for your laptop.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03000276

You only install the amd driver that will install the drivers for the two GPU (Intel and AMD).

Once you install the graphics driver, install the Cyberlink YouCam software.

The IDT audio driver should reinstall the Beats Audio.

Recovery Manager software is not available for download.
