HP Pavilion dv7-3173nr: HP Recovery Manager

2 weeks ago, I bought this laptop second hand from a friend of my Cousin. It does so any disk from HP. I got was the laptop & charger. I decided to upgrade to Windows 10 & the laptop was working fine, but I couldn't because my recovery (Partition) was full, so I removed it in the Disk Manager. When the OS installed the thought of my sister it would be funny to turn off the computer if the Installation was interrupted. I had to order a Windows 7 recovery on Ebay disk & reinstall Windows, so I did, but now the laptop don't look the same. Until all this is past that everything happening all HD now, everything is blurred & the icons are too big. I tried to reset to factory settings, but it won't let me. The only Options it gives Me is to save my things or reinstall Windows. I need help. Anyone? Please?

Hello

Try reinstalling the driver for graphics card AMD on the following link.

http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp45001-45500/sp45260.exe

Once the installation is complete, restart the laptop.

  • How to access and replace a pavilion dv7-3173nr cooling fan?

Pavilion dv7-3173nr member of my family had a cooling fan stop working. This has been noticed during my usual maintenance of it where I take a can of compressed air and spray to clean the fan. As he hit the air I was expecting the fan to turn but it did not. I've then turn it on to see if it would turn but it would turn still not. The warranty just missed in recent weeks and the manuals and other resources that I've found so far do not help. If someone could tell me how to access the fan for this model, it would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

  • Pavilion DV7-3015ew vl095ea recovery kits 2010 vs 2011

    Hello

Need to make the resumption of the plant on Pavilion DV7-3015ew vl095ea #akd.

    There are recovery disks 6pcs:

2pcs system recovery records + 1pcs drivers disk marked even code p2394-164-1, year 2010

    * 2pcs marked system recovery disc code p5510-93-1, year 2011

    * 1pcs disc with unmarked, without year applications

My friend tried to use disks system year 2011 for the purposes of recovery: boot from the first disc and when asked to insert the 2 floppy. After restart of the progress the recovery has begun, but in the end, it failed with the message he had to start again...

Today will also try discs of the year 2010...

Can anyone advice why there is 6pcs discs? I have no history for this laptop, so don't know not if they were provided with the laptop or perhaps ordered this last...

    Official website for this model:

Recovery partition (with the possibility to recover system, applications and drivers separately)

Are there tips for the recovery process?   for example, recovery on ENVY DV7 - 7252sr always failed until the date of the bios modified for 2012.

    Thank you

    Successful recovery!

Only used no discs of 2010, but beginning the HARD drive recovery. Looks like when last boot disk recovery from 2011, its new partition on the HARD disk and create the recovery partition. The HARD drive recovery passed successfully!

  • Pavilion p7 1235 HP Recovery Manager removal

Pavilion p7 1235 Windows 7: I would like to uninstall the HP Recovery Manager and use the hard D for my data disk partition; However, the HP Recovery Manager does not appear in the list of 'remove programs' in Control Panel.  How can I remove it and keep the D partition?

    Hello

You can do it manually as follows.

    Note:

As this will remove the ability to reinstall Windows 7 from this partition, make sure first that you have your set of recovery disks in case you need to reinstall the operating system - be aware that if you use these discs to reinstall the OS, they recreated all the original partitions on the hard disk for all custom partitions and data will be lost.  This being the case, be sure to back up data that you plan to store in the D partition to an external device/support before performing a recovery.

    To format the D partition.

Hold down the Windows key and press R.  In the run box, type compmgmt.msc , and then press ENTER.  Click disk management in the left pane and let readers load upward.  Right-click on the D Partition, and then select Format to start the wizard.  Windows 7 will affect a Volume label so if your happy with it, just leave the default value, which is still D.  As the Partition D has had a FAT file system, it is probably best to change it to NTFS.  Allocation unit size must be left by default.  Select the option to perform a quick format if it is not already done.  Leave all the other default settings, and then click Ok, and then Ok to start the process.

Once done, close disk management and you should see the available empty Partition D when you look under the computer.

  • Pavilion 500-141ea: HP Recovery Manager

I read in another Board that HP Recovery Manager is accessible from the start menu. But it may not be accessd in the Start Menu on my Windows 10 system! I have not tried this recently, but can I still access it by pressing F11 immediately after the passage on my PC?

More importantly, can I still reset my PC to factory settings using the HP Recovery Manager, now I have 10 windows? Otherwise, I might as well delete the HP recovery partition to free up space...

    Thanks for the reply.

While Microsoft says there is no risk in the upgrade of Win10, because they allow you to believe that you can always return to your BONES and the original installation program within 30 days, the ugly fact of the matter is that the Win10 GoBack feature turned out to be unreliable - and when she fails, she can let machines in a State corrupted - that does not always happen , but it happens often enough to be a problem and you will get no warning beforehand that he goes to the trash your PC!

If this is not enough, the Win10 upgrade is known, in some cases, corrupt partition recovery stored by the OEM that built the original machine. It's pretty much guarantee that no HP recovery will work: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Video-Display-and-Touch/HP-Recovery-Manager-Blocked-After-Windows-10-Upgrade/td-p/5170752

So, basically, the recovery partition won't do you no good now - you may remove as well.

However, I highly recommend that you plan to use a third party to make a backup image of your PC, known as Macrium Reflect.

Macrium reflect (MR) provides a FREE version that can be used to image and restore partitions or drives together: http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx

What I recommend is the following:
    (1) download and install Macrium reflect (MR)
    (2) run M. and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition (s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive or USB key
    (3) use the option to create a CD or a USB startup key

My experience is that SIR, when you use the option of Compression high, typically allows to compress the image file recorded at about 50% of the space USED in the OS partition. This means that if you have a 40GB and 80GB OS partition is used, MR must only about 20 GB to store the image file.

I use all the time and it usually takes less than 10 minutes to make the backup of the image and at the same time or less do a restore.

In addition, MR has the ability to add a recovery Boot Menu entry. This then allows you to boot into Windows re, and then you can use it to do a restore - when you cannot start Windows!

NOW, you have the means to restore a full system that works for the external hard drive or USB key in a few minutes.

    Good luck

  • Help with HP dv7 and HP Recovery Manager

How long does take to reinstall Windows 7 x 64 and applications to the specifications of the plant using the provided HP 3 DVD recovery discs? I used the procedure as indicated online and the phone asked for two discs of origin then began installing and suspended at 12%. It is 12% for nearly two hours. I have additional discs to always run, but did not know how long is too long and the procedure to restart or cancel.

I used the HP Recovery Manager after you start from the recovery diskette 1.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Hold the power button for 10-15 seconds, turn off the system. Please check if there is any scrathes for discs to make them correct. Please give me the disk part numbers and the model number and the product number of the system to check if they are correct or not.

  • Add the second hard drive for HP Pavilion dv7-3173nr

So rumor is my DV7 may take a second hard drive.

So I got a second drive, open the bottom where the reader will, and there is no SATA connector. Apparently I need a shopping cart or something, but I can't. Am I missing something obvious?

    Thank you.

Yes you need a shopping cart and a connector. The interface is not a standard SATA plug... There is a cable that connects the SATA drive in a small plug in the second Bay.

I first used the recovery disks that I did when I bought the computer and ended with "the system recovery failed.

I then tried with the help of the partition recovery and restore to fail again

I bought the HP discs to do the recovery and still the same thing. In case of failure

I read that it could be because of my internet connection, but it is a compressed and wireless and I do not have access to the router connect physically, the internet is password protected.

I always get the computer to go through all three disks, System Recovery DVD Windows 7 Edition home premium 1 and 2 as well as the Application and driver recovery CD, then he starts the third CD and continues processing but in the end, I get the same message, "the system recovery failed.

  • The BluRay drive firmware - DV7-3173nr

I just got a replacement for my computer drive laptop dv7-3173nr and I put it in, and I can't get the right drivers for it. The exact command I ordered is the one

    http://www.mydvddrives.com/replacement-for-HP-Pavilion-dv7-3173nr-SATA-BD-ROM-Blu-ray-combo-drive-13...

He said it is impossible to install the driver, and the Drivers of HP section doesn't seem to have what I need.

Avoid the need for a driver. Windows simply needs to see the new device and if you put in a disc it installs with a drive letter. You have probably a superior and inferior question registry filter and you can try this automatic repair of Microsoft or manual registry fixes described here:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/982116

Be sure and expand all the positives on the page you can see all the instructions. I guess that you have Windows 7.

Once you get the drive recognized under Windows there are of course some software that must be installed before you can watch Blu - Ray movies.

  • Recovery disk works does not after replacing hard drive Pavilion dv7

Hello. I have problems of replacement of a failed hard drive in my HP Pavilion dv7-6154nr notebook running Windows 7. New HARD drive seems to install OK, but I get a Windows Boot Manager error when I try to run the recovery disks created when the system was purchased. The message says "the boot selection failed because a required device is not accessible" "status: Oxc000000f. I changed the boot order in the BIOS to boot from the internal DVD player but continue to make the same mistake

More info: I upgraded the HARD drive from a Toshiba MK6476GSX - 640 GB - 5400 RPM for a WD Black 7500BPKTSP.  I don't see any info in the new HARD drive in system information / BIOS so I don't know if it is recognized. However, it take and pass a diagnostic test.

    Thank you.

If you have a problem to find drivers (such as the wireless, unless you already knew what the wireless adapter model you have in the PC, you will not know which driver to install).

Just after the hardware ID's for all you can't find the drivers.  Who need device drivers appears in the Manager for devices with a little yellow. brand and labelled with material generic terms such as a network Contoller or PCI device, etc.
