HP pavilion 17-e049wm resolution

Hello

I recently bought the refurbished hp pavilion 17-e049wm laptop.  There the A10-5750 AMD processor and corresponding AMD graphics card.

My question is... will I be able to drive a display resolution of 2560 x 1440 the HDMI output?  I read one place that this computer can support up to this resolution, with the right HDMI cable.  If yes/no, also what is the highest resolution that I can run on an external monitor?  I am wanting to switch to an external monitor for home use.

It will be too much of a strain for my laptop, or if it will work OK?

Thank you!

I found the answer myself.

I went to a store selling monitors with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 and they DID NOT work with my HP via the HDMI connection.  Although the chipset is capable of this resolution, the driver provided by AMD is not allowing it to happen.  I tried to add my own higher resolution, but it would not allow me to create whatever it is above 1080 p, essentially.

Yes, we tried two cables HDMI v1.4a 'high speed '.

No luck.

I hope that HP and AMD allow that to happen in the software someday.

  • HP pavilion 17 e049wm question win7 usb

    Hi it :-)

I just installed Win7 on my new e049wm Pavilion 17 and installed what I think are all the drivers (following the instructions in this link, on the account that Win7 seems to be unsupported for the e049wm so far)

It works pretty well, but my device manager still reports an unknown PCI device, SM Bus controller, USB controller and unknown device. In addition, two usb ports on the left side of my laptop don't work! : s there at - it gurus of support out there that might lead me in the right direction to solve this? Any help would be greatly appreciated, I would be disappointed to be forced using Windows 8 when it requires users to have accounts of microsoft simply use several 3rd party applications.

    Hello:

According to the specifications of product for your laptop, this should be the correct graphics driver you need that installs the switchable graphics drivers the Intel and AMD...

This package provides the AMD graphics driver high definition (HD) and Catalyst Control Center for models of laptop computers that are running an operating system supported. For laptops equipped with switchable graphics modes, this package contains the drivers for the two graphics (GPU). Switchable graphics allow users to switch between a graphical power mode (normally used under the power of the battery) and a mode of graphics performance. If the video output high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) is supported, this package also installs the HDMI Audio Driver.

Hey guys, I'm new here and I would like to ask you one thing that I am curious to try...

Is it safe to change it to a higher custom on my laptop resolution? The recommended resolution is 1366 x 768... Change in 1600 x 900 affect my hardware?

For additional info: this laptop has an intel core i7 with a intel graphics hd 4000, 8 GB of RAM and a dedicated VGA GeForce 840 m.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

The screen has a native number of points. You can replace the screen but the pumping of resolution it is not an option.

    Hope it makes sense.

  • HP Pavilion 23xi Underscanning resolution

I recently bought the 23xi Pavilion and I liked the quality and image clarity, but some games like Crysis Warhead had some image lag issues. I thought that it had to be a way to solve this problem. I went to the HP site and searched the 23xi and found the driver of 23xi Pavilion. After the installation of the monitor underscans now the visible image by about an inch on the top, left and right of the screen. This creates a black border that now spans the length of each side.  I thouhght perhaps was the Catalyst Control Center, but no option of scaling are allowed (other than the GPU scaling to enable/disable). I thought then that maybe my VGA cable is the cause, I tried an HDMI cable without change. I thought then that maybe it was the software, hooked my laptop still no change. My last thought was that perhaps a scaling option had checked on the monitor, I can see an option of scaling for the monitor, but it is not selectable in any form. Also I am running Windows 7 x 64 with a Radeon HD 6970.  Y at - it someobody who can help me to fix this, please?

I thought about it. It is not underscanning. This is part of the bezel and I never noticed until now lol

  • Pavilion 17-e049wm: things around my keyboard

I noticed these odd ripples around some of my keys on my keyboard (it's at least a year). Either I had for a while, or just noticed them now. In any case, here is a picture:

I posted on Reddit and it was suggested that there is a plastic film around the keyboard, causing ripples. I don't know if this is the case because I do not see, unless I'm not another reason. Any help would be appreciated.

Actually on further review I thought you had a keyboard to type on the island with the keys sneaking through holes in the top cover, but you have a regular keyboard that sits on top of the lid, so all you need is the keyboard. What is a U.S. English keyboard?

If so, this is the part:

  • HP Pavilion 17-e049wm: update the BIOS for windows 10

    Just updated for Windows 10.

Why am I having trouble finding a bios update.

    Iced42

There is no need to be rude!

There is no driver HP Win10 for your PC as well, when you did the update that you were MS drivers - that offer only basic features.

You do not Win10 BIOS update because HP does not certify your PC for Win10 and, therefore, has not produced any BIOS Win10 updated.

HP has released no timetable for when, or if, they perform BIOS updates for older machines.

  • HP Pavilion 17-E049WM: the dual-band wireless card

I have a processor amd on this machine. Single band wireless card. I was wondering if this card would work on this machine.

    Intel Wireless-N 7260BN WiFi 802.11b/g/n 2 × 2 + Combo Bluetooth 4.0 adapter

Or is it just for processors intel...

If this is not the case, is there all the wireless cards double for this so I can pick up the band 5 GHz on the router.

Now I have a usb dual band that works but if I could just go inside the laptop and put in another map that would be better.

    TIA.

    Hello:

Probably the Intel card will not work.

I don't know anyone who has a laptop AMD based where the Intel card worked and it was not your model.

I suggest you only install a dual-band Broadcom card, which should work just fine.

    This one...

    Broadcom BCM943228HMB 802.11abgn 2 × 2 Wi - Fi adapter, card Broadcom Bluetooth 4.0.

Before you buy any wireless card, make sure that your model has two sons of wireless antenna connected to the current map.

Inspect your real model.  Do not rely on the photo of the manual as some forum members have reported that a single antenna attached even if the manual shows two.

If there is that a single, dual-band card will not get the reception he needs with only a single antenna.

Here is the link to the service manual for your model.

  • HP Pavilion 17-e049wm Device Manager does not see the amd radeon 8650g card.

Windows 7 can not find the graphics card for the amd radeon 8650g.  I tried to install the drivers from AMD and they never appear in the Device Manager.  It only gives me "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter."  Windows Update will not update.  They say that it is current because it cannot find the radeon 8650g.  AMD Setup never shows the driver file during installation.  It installs all sorts of other things, but never the driver.  As if it does not find material.

    What is going on.

    Hello:

    @Niko8881

I have corrected my post above - use your computer product number .

If you know the name of the specific model of your computer and can not boot the computer to get the product number, you can use another method to find information.

Example - get the product number of the computer specifications:

    System > HP Pavilion 17 - e049wm Notebook PC product specifications >

    Product number > 0J75UA

Open HP PartSurfer> select your country >

Enter in the quick search box: 0J75UA

If necessary, consult your original purchase information and / or reception.  If you have bought from HP.com, you would have received a confirmation email that provides essential order information, including the product number of your system.

  • Can't access wifi connections

    Hello I have a PC HP Pavilion 17 e049wm laptop, model: E0J75UA.
Long story short my laptop is no longer gives me an option to connect to the internet via my wireless router. It gives me only the ability to connect via Ethernet cable. If I click on the network icon it says that no connection is available. If I go to network and sharing Center and try to put in place a network, it will never detect my router. The wifi icon reminds orange, despite the airplane mode is turned off. If I type Wireless in the search bar in the start menu, one option is to change the wifi settings. From there it only gives me the ability to add the VPN connection. (?)
Another option is to change the settings of the wireless device, but it does not detect anything. I tried to do a restore of the system for a save point where internet worked, "didn't work. I know this isn't my router as all other devices, phones, tablets, ps3 and other computers are working very well. I tried but the router to rest. I am at a loss at what needs to be done, any help will be appreciated!

Somehow I see your driver does not work properly, if you know the brand name of the wireless card you have you could go there website and download. (since your a select edition, there are 4 different cards)

    First question:

Do you see something in others, or you see triangle signs tell you to solve problems?

Try to scan hardware changes, go to right click Device Manager space blink and look for changes on the hardware.

If not, see if you can download your driver here:

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=us & LC = in & Product = 5388069

If you see others and then expand click right properties for this and give me the hardware ID.
