parents control: is it possible to disable

    Disable parental control

    1. Choose the Apple menu > System Preferences, and then click Parental controls.

Note: When you open parental controls Preferences, if you see the message "There is no user to manage accounts", see Add a managed user.

I myself blocked on my computer. I didn't know that Apple was the administrator of the computer, and I was a user. I turned on the 'enable parental control' to limit the spending of my adolescence, while using my apple ID. I didn't know I was putting controls on myself. I tried everything-

    (1) connected on Mac of my son tried to remote access, file sharing, etc. He is a Director on his computer, and we've even created a new user on his computer. Nothing has worked.

    (2) tried questions help and support, impossible to find a way around it.

    (3) I've changed my password, now I can't even shut down the computer.

I can't believe that this happened to someone, somewhere, and it's so easy to do.

Please take these steps to restore the privileges on your account. This somewhat tedious procedure is only necessary if you have verified that no work administrator account exists on the system.

If you do not already have a current backup of all your data, you must back up before taking any of the steps below. Ask if you need advice. You won't need the backup unless something goes wrong, which is always possible.

    Step 1

Start in recovery mode. The OS X Utilities appears.

    Step 2

This step only if you use FileVault 2. Start utility disk, then select the icon for the volume FileVault startup ("Macintosh HD", unless you have given it a different name.) It will be nested under another icon of the disc. Select open in the file menu and enter your login password when you are prompted. Then quit disk utility must be returned to the main screen.

    Step 3

    Select

    Utilities ▹ Terminal

in the menu bar. In the window that opens, type this:

    resetp

Press the tab key. The partial order you entered will automatically end this:

    resetpassword

Press return. Opens a window to reset the password. Select your boot if not already done volume. Pull down the menu option

    Select the user account

    and select

    Administrator (root)

Follow the prompts to set a password. It is safer to choose a password that includes only the characters a - z, A - Z and 0-9. I suggest that you write the password. If you don't write it down and forget about it, you will start again at step 1.

    Select

     ▹ Reboot...

    in the menu bar.

    Step 4

This step, as step 2, applies only if you use FileVault. Sign up as usual, then select

     ▹ Disconnect...

from the menu bar or press shift-command-Q key combination. Do not restart. You go back to the login screen.

    Step 5

On the login screen, click on the other... Enter 'root' (without the quotes) in the name field and the password set in step 3 in the password field. You should now be logged in as root. It is a potentially dangerous situation. Do nothing by being logged in as root except as indicated below. You'll be fine as long as you don't dismiss the plan.

Open the preferences users and groups window. Select your usual administrator account from the list of users and check the box marked

Allow the user to administer this computer

You will be prompted to restart. Do this and log in as yourself, not as root. Your administrator status should now be restored.

    Step 6 (optional, but recommended)

Follow the instructions in this article to support under the title "disable the root user. You must authenticate in directory utility as a 'root' with the password set in step 3. As another administrator authentication will not work.

  • Finder pop up usually disappear from parental control account

I created an account for my daughter with parental control.  The problem is a pop up is coming every 30 seconds or so with the icon from the finder on it saying "you do not have permission to use the RimAlbumArtDaemon application for more information, contact the person who set up your account".  There are three options below, always allow, allow a time and OK.  I clicked on OK but it keeps coming back, I put in my password allow once and always, but always he keeps coming back.  She cannot use her account until I solve this problem, if anyone has any ideas what I need to do to get rid of this pop up?

See this discussion for a solution

    Delete "RimAlbumArtDaemon".

  • Place the Parental control over the Admin account

I use a Macbook Pro with El Capitan 11.1 2012

Today, I put Parental controls on my admin account, which resulted in the managed account. I can now use my normal administrator username / combo of password to remove it. I tried everything I found on the Internet, including into single user mode and create a new account to change to leave, but the code didn't work in my case.

I was wondering if there is any easy solution or new thoughts there for this OS...

Also why it not easier? Or at least a warning? Looks like Apple could have come up with something after that it was produced for the years.

You can see a child account on your Windows Live account page if the child is under 13 years of age and is registered under the COPPA - (Children Online Privacy Protection Act). COPPA has a $0.50 charge on subscription and is only a one-time charge.

  • How can I get the parental control?

I want to set up parental controls, but when I go into my control panel find the sound icon is not there and I went looking and looking but nothing came.

Windows XP is not the Parental control.  This feature has been added in Windows Vista.

XP can use Internet Explorer Content Advisor and allows to control the time that users can connect to.

  • Parental controls won't start

I've had this laptop for about 3 years under Vista Home Premium. Meanwhile, I had the parental control on my son's account. From time to time, I was able to open the Parental control (through Control Panel or in the user accounts) and make the necessary changes. The most recent case was about 6 weeks ago and everything worked fine. Tonight, I wanted to change the settings, but Parental controls wouldn't start up. When I click it, the small circle spins for a few seconds, and then nothing happens. When I get the icon "view parental control report" and click on it, a page appears as a fleeting glimpse, disappears as quickly and then nothing happens. I read in the net and the only solution that seems to work is to repair the installation using the upgrade option. This is not an option for me because my drive does not have the upgrade feature or the upgrade feature has been disabled. Is there another solution to the problem of parental control? I did all the diagnostic tests suggested and found no errors whatsoever. I would greatly appreciate your help.

I have used the system restore and to get control parental work again. I went back to the point just before I 'upgraded' in IE9 and everything is good. None of the diagnostics provided no details on the cause of this problem. Get rid of IE9 did the trick.

    Thanks for your help.

  • IE8 and Parental controls no more internet

I have an acer espire running vista 64-bit. I reinstalled the State completely new factory. ATER passes through all configurations of windows to start, I can access the internet. I add new users to the computer and everything is still fine. As soon as I activate the parental control and Setup for a child commands, no account cannot access the internet. Audit to tell local networking and internet, the network icon shows and the internet. Some programs cannot access the internet. Ive tried to delete new users, but still no internet for the admin account that is left. Any ideas, thank you very much,

Perform a restore of the system so that you are able to access the internet, then try to install the Windows Live Family Safety update, as I mentioned before and after implementation, test if it works properly or not. David
